Finally! Someone who realizes this isn’t the final roster.

This is always the case. I do think it is kinda cruel when someone thinks they made the team, celebrates, and then gets let go 48 hours later. It’s a business, but still must suck.

Bradberry should keep his bags packed. Ricks could be traded as well.

I had McMahon and Toth making it, but Steen didn't go to IR and Kinnard made it over McMahon. So got 51 of 53 it looks like. No idea why they can't publish a list instead of a dumb video.

EDIT: I'm giving myself half credit for Steen - had him on IR. Call it 51.5/53

We're not gonna hold it against you.  Just try to do better next time.

McMahon is the only move that raised my eyebrows, he needs a "red shirt" year, but I'd be afraid some losing team might stash him - but how many offenses use mobile, undersized centers?

Once teams below us make waiver claims, it's easier to sneak someone on the current roster to the PS, b/v those teams would have to cut someone to add our player.

This is a pretty solid roster, so no guarantee they add anyone. Anyone they pick up has to have more upside than the guys you won't dress or more talent than the guys you will dress.

Luckily for him, he can take a swim in a pool of gold coins Scrooge McDuck style to ease the pain of his failure.

I was convinced they would go light at RB, TE, and WR while going heavy in the secondary. And that’s exactly what they did. Their 4th RB, 3rd TE, and 6th WR will sit on the practice squad and will be elevated on game days accordingly.

I believe that keeping Bradberry was the smart play. That situation will resolve in due time. No need to rush anything there. If we lose a couple of corners to injury early in the year, he could be a big help.

Happy McCollum made it. He really flashed for me in the games.

My biggest, and perhaps only, issue was cutting McMahon. Most of the guys they cut who they still like will make it through to the PS.  But I’m worried McMahon is gonna get claimed. (Also, am I the only one who’s been thinking "McMahon and TATE”?)

Guys I would have kept:

Mustipher over Marlon T

Burks over Bradberry

Okwara over Lovato since Lovato could have been waived, signed to the practice squad then elevated for the first three games.

I wonder how long we play out the option with Bradberry. I get that his money is guaranteed so there’s no benefit to cutting him financially, but at some point a guy like Cine has to be more interesting.

I would move on Cine immediately.

I don't think they cut McMahon if they think they don't get him back on the PS

Too much dead money

Once they cut Bradberry, they will be under 24 across the board!

Nothing wrong with that. Youth movement on defense

What did Burks show you that your extremely upset by him not being on the roster?

He is subject to waivers.

The team has needed to get younger for a few years, so to see that occur is great.  Helps with cap mgmt and offers more avenues to game time that trading for someone like Golden Tate

They didn’t think they were gonna lose Casey Toohill that time that Washington claimed him.

He looked really good against the Vikings.  I know he played against scrubs but he showed mobility and instincts.  he has played for the Niners and packers and was a quality reserve.  he can also play special teams.  He will play decent football for somebody this year.  I believe he would have made the team if not for the first day practice injury.

I am happy we kept more on defense. The 4th RB, 6th WR and 3rd TE can be stashed on the PS. Carrying Penny and Albert O on the 53 last year was a mistake that Howie isn’t repeating. Better we kept Ricks and McCollum than a RB and TE.

Yea, unfortunately. One of my draft crushes a few years back.

And losing Noah Togiai was a miscalculation.

The one that killed me was losing Christian Ellis to the Pats later in the year instead of just cutting Albert O.

Pretty wild to see that Najee Harris isn't the starter anymore.

I thought he was one of their best and most consistent OL all of TC and in the games. For a rookie C/G, he's going to get picked up quick. Kinnard over McMahon might be a mistake.

I imagine they plan on keeping him at least on practice squad.

Only four spots didn't match mine.

 - They didn't IR Steen after all.  Waived Toth.
 - Ricks for Jobe.
 - Kinnard for McMahon.
 - IRed Smith, kept Bradbury.

It will be interesting to see how many of our cuts go elsewhere.  A good measure of the quality of who was kept.
