If Gates (as reported by Schefter) and Jenkins/Stoll (need a 3rd TE) are elevated for week 1, we need to deactivate 7, one of which can be McKee. This assumes we dress 8 O Line so can have 48 active on gameday. On offense, they really can only deactivate McKee (dress as emergency 3rd QB) and I'd guess Kinnard unless Steen isn't healthy. The 3 backup OL would be Steen (G/T flexibility), Keegan (G) and Fred Johnson (T). So need to deactivate 5 on defense. I'd guess Hunt, Booker, Ricks, Bradberry and either McCollum or DeJean.

You're miscounting OL.  Gates is the sixth OL.  Only need to keep 2 more active - Johnson/Steen.

When do waiver claims get announced? Did Jobe get claimed or they just didn't bring him back? Seemed like a surefire PS guy otherwise

Jobe is 26, and they have a lot of other gunner types on the 53 roster.

Not sure they'd stash him on the PS just for STs.

He has already signed with the Commanders

That was fake news. He didn't sign with anyone yet.

Dallas Goedert still out with an oblique injury isn't the most encouraging start to the year for him.

Probably there to throw in practice so Hurts can rest his arm and they don't overwork Pickett and McKee.

what? If you need a 4th QB so you don't overwork the first 3, something is wrong. Waste of a PS spot.

Brain fart on my part -- yeah, Gates being active would allow them to deactivate Keegan. So that means they only need to deactivate 4 on defense. Should be Hunt, Booker, Ricks and Bradberry.

I've always gotten the sense Grier is here as a quasi-QB coach given his history with Moore.

Interesting thought.  Run the scout team.

Put him on the coaching staff then

He'd have to agree to that.

I'm not going to be stressed on using one of 16 practice squad spots on a QB that can help out in meetings with a new offense.

We have a talented team.  Having to complain about the 65th guy is a good sign.

Shouldn’t Saul’s diploma say James McGill?

If you have the time watch Better Call Saul, otherwise

Spoiler

After Chuck's death in the Season 3 finale, Jimmy leans into his criminal nature by selling burner phones and performing various scams. Then, when his law license is reinstated, he requests to practice law officially under the "Saul Goodman” name.

Hence the certificate in his name.

I have to get back with Mark about doing our new upgrade, hopefully that will fix the current issues. But as sites change their URLs, new updates/upgrades would be required to keep up with them.

Think of it like a GPS that knows the road maps as they were in 2007.  There used to be a bridge over a large canyon, but construction removed that bridge in 2022. The GPS is just going to lead you right off that cliff until you update it with the latest information.

The board software would have to be updated anytime there's a major change, like 'Twitter' to 'X'... which I never understood why he picked 'X'... and never understood Prince changing his name to a symbol either, but to each their own, I suppose lol.

He picked the name "X" to be the western version of the WeChat App from China - the app of everything. Musk:

And, you know, if I think of, like, WeChat in China, which is actually a great, great app, but there’s no WeChat movement outside of China. And I think that there’s a real opportunity to create that. You basically live on WeChat in China because it’s so useful and so helpful to your daily life. And I think if we could achieve that, or even close to that with Twitter, it would be an immense success.

how many think it's going to stay 28 defense, 22 offense.

vested vets were cut because they couldn't be claimed on waivers.  Teams won't be looking for players as closely after this initial bunch.  the Eagles can put vested veterans back and other teams will let the Eagles cut young defense to go to practice squad.

I expect Parris Campbell back pretty soon.   Unless they find another source of top speed.  4.31 is fast.  Quinyon Mitchell 4.33.   Quez was 4.35, Ringo 4.36,   they could be used on offense, but it seems easier to just have Parris Campbell do jet sweeper guy stuff.  Top speed making big gains, that kind of thing.

Nothing like week 1 in Brazil around the corner, with the head coaching job under a microscope, to bring back Quez Watkins and Parris Campbell and use them on offense.  I'll be sure to reach out to you directly if I ever want to end up in prison.

This isn’t the final roster.  Might one of the vested vets switch places with a low end roster player after week one just to forego the guaranteed salary.  We’ve seen that before. Plus vets not cut and players not signed will be making the tryout circuit. Long way from any certainty at this point.

Cinci really keeping 5 TE on the 53?

The PS QB learns and simulates the opposing teams offense for practice.  Don't want to confuse the other backup QBs

And Will Grier? Do they really need to waste a PS spot on a QB? Not sure I understand that one either.

Nothing wrong with 87. I'd like to see a movement to get WR back in real WR numbers to be honest. I don't like the new relaxed number rules at all.

20 years from now you'll see QBs wearing the #74 😄😄

I noticed in the last preseason game, I think when Armani Rogers made a nice catch, they showed Goedert on the sideline giving the first down celebration and when he did he was awkwardly holding one side of his ribs up near his chest. Looked like he had bruised ribs or something.

He's got a 76.4% change of injury this season according to this site

 I'm just imagining you as a "lawyer." You're sitting in court telling the judge that the defense attorney COULD also prosecute. "But your honor, his RLS (Relative Legal Score) was a 96.2! A 96.2, damn it! I'm a prophet!"
