Lewis Cine was only added to the Jets PS. I'd sign him to the active roster immediately.

They signed Sterns.  They have Sidney Brown.  DeJean might be in mix at safety eventually too.  Short term depth problem.  I don't think Howie wanted to use 7 mil of space on Simmons.

No, Albert O and Smith have already been designated with 2 of their 8 spots.

CJ, Blankenship, McCollum, Maddox and then Brown & Sterns coming at some point. Not sure they would look to add a safety. Probably use his roster spot for offensive depth.
