Based on my feeds, it looks like Colorado beat the #1 team in the country last night in dominating fashion and if I don't acknowledge Colorado and Deion as the best team out there I'm a boob. Oh wait, they only beat an FCS school by 5 points who was less than 5 yards away from a game winning TD and there was seriously questionable officiating? Going to be a long season.

I've seen this map before, I should read that book.  Fascinating.  Lots of it make sense to me (spanish carribean, new france, deep south, tidewater.   I'm wondering if this map evolves over time, too - I imagine the book is a few years old?

Really?  All I have been reading is they s the bed, Deion culture is poison, all flash no sunstance.  Nebraska could hang 50 on them next week.

That is absolutely tragic news. My god. RIP.

And to get on my soap box for a second, I say this not as a beef with the Blue Jackets, it’s just a pet peeve in general. Gaudreau and his brother didn’t "pass away” they were Fing killed. They were killed by an irresponsible, selfish, dope Fing a-hole. I think it’s important to be very succinct to stigmatize drunk driving and other bad deeds as much as possible.

I have a problem with that wording too. You pass away in your sleep. You get hit by a drunk driver, you don't pass away. Exactly how you said it. 

I can't even begin to understand how their family must feel. Gathered to celebrate their sisters wedding today and now they have to deal with their death. Tears you to pieces.
