Moore sounded well during his PC. Easily see him being HC material at some point.

This is kind of stating the obvious but it's hard to trust on having Moore beyond this season. This feels very Gannon-ish in that he's likely going to be a rental rather than a long term solution. If the offense stinks again, with this personnel, he'll probably be fired along with Sirianni. If it's successful, he'll probably get HC interviews and may be the possible hot name of the cycle. It's hard to imagine a scenario where Moore is here beyond 2024 (unless they fire Sirianni and promote Moore which would be unlikely but maybe understandable).

I'd fire Sirianni months ago and hire Moore to be the HC.

Say what you will about Siri, but you don't hear those kinds of stories coming out of the Eagles.

Philly ain't South Beach:P

Yeah... oh, maybe that's because the Eagles had the lightest practice schedule in the NFL, the vets don't play in the PS ever... and rather than whining publicly, the defense just quit on him.   That's much better.

I'm pretty sure that Siri said during a post season press-something-or-other that this camp will not be as soft as previous camps. It sounded like Siri saw the problem.

It seemed obvious... but hey, all it took was a complete and total collapse.

I disagree.  He showed pretty well as a gunner last year... but as a CB... he's a JAG.

The interesting part is if he’s a ST leader that would mean he’s on the team this season…

The thing is, they now have multiple players who offer that flexibility. I don't foresee Cooper DeJean as the Eagles PR for the next decade...but as a rookie, when he isn't a starter, 100% he could be the Eagles starting PR.

Ainias Smith, a 3rd or 4th WR who is going to play on offense. No reason he can't be the PR either. Look at a few WR3 and PR numbers.

Braxton Berrios. WR3 for Miami.  27 catches for 238 yards and 1 TD. 23 PR for 235 yards at 10.2 YPR.

Kalif Raymond. WR3 for Detroit. 35 catches for 489 yards, 1 TD. 29 PR for 331 yards, 11.4 YPR.

The point being is that they have players on the roster who can do multiple things rather than just 1 thing. Covey, for as good as he is, can be replaced by one of the young guys and open up a roster spot that might be needed.

If one of the younger guys are better punt returners, I would have no issue with replacing Covey. But if he continues to be the best PR on our roster, I see absolutely no reason to give his job to somebody else. Everybody acts like Covey can't play WR too. A. Smith and Wilson are both rookies with zero NFL experience at WR. As of right now, it's just wishful thinking to project them as clearly better than Covey at anything at this level. Don't get me wrong, we'll learn a lot more in camp and preseason about how the rookies are transitioning. But I'm not going to hold it against Covey that since Sirianni has been here, we have basically made a mockery of WR3-WR5. I really hope K. Moore has plans to utilize our slot receiver, whoever that turns out to be, in a more traditional way as well as generally trying to get more people involved.

Covey is pretty much the same exact size as Cole Beasley and he has the same skill set. Moore is familiar with Beasley. All I can say is that if Covey wins the PR job again (like I believe he will), it will be interesting to see if Moore tries to get him some more touches on offense. I'm just tired of pretending Covey offers nothing at WR. He looks pretty good to me when given the chance:

I don't think they quit, it was more like chaos on the field with players not knowing their assignments or coaches able to adjust schemes.

Christian Elliss was that last year too but we had to sign Leonard

That's how it was reported at the time. His role wasn't helping Gannon, it was studying upcoming opponents and how to exploit defenses.

I thought it was more so for self-scouting purposes but they go hand in hand.

That doesn't explain why they couldn't tackle.   A lot of times they were in position to make a tackle, and they just got run over.   They quit.

Besides Devonta Smith, that Eagles Bucs playoff game was one of the biggest "1-2-3, Cancun” performances I’ve ever seen. They absolutely quit.

It was fun watching the contrasting way that Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio handle press conferences.

Vic had a very "I’m too old for this crap” bluntness and directly answered questions with a wry smile.

Kellen Moore took simple questions and turned them into lectures where he didn’t end up say a whole lot. Hes very well versed with coach speak and dancing around the answer

Most interesting takeaway from the Chip Kelly roast was that Chip also was trying to dump Brandon Graham, but Jeffrey Lurie stepped in and wouldn’t let him

Jobe certainly is an interesting name to mention here.

Not really when you look back at last year. Jobe was often mentioned as one of the ST leaders. He has a role on this team even if it's as a deep reserve CB. He's part of the reason I was bringing up the idea of trading a guy like Ringo during the draft. Sell high on Ringo before his value drops by not playing at all. You need those core ST players who play on every unit. Chris Maragos, Colt Anderson, Bryan Braman type of players.

If you trade Ringo, who is the other gunner?

What are you getting for Ringo? He was a fourth round pick who barely played.

They have a wealth of lower tier CB depth behind the Slay, Williams and DeJean. Pre-injury McPhearson was getting rave ST gunner reviews and playing at a high level on ST. Eli Ricks, Tyler Hall, even a guy like Tristan McCollum who offers position flexibility across CB and safety.

It was just a suggestion, I have no idea what his value is, but I'd assume it's higher than trading Jobe, Ricks or McPhearson. I don't want them to trade him, but I think one of the DB ends up getting traded when all is said and done. They've all shown they can play in the league but at the same time, Ringo is a 21 year old raw CB with a high ceiling. If he doesn't have a job here, I think there's a team that would take a chance on him for more than we think.

I’d argue they basically quit after losing to the cardinals. That giants game they mailed in too.

Yeah, I’m not buying what you’re selling.

Ringo could very well be a starting outside corner in 2025. Have a little patience.

Exactly. They traded a 3 for him right. Howie said the view was they valued him more than what they think they'd as a 3rd round pick.

They will need to go young - don't think we there is anyway both Bradberry and Maddox are on the 53. Maddox could well be on the PS for most of the year.
