They both pass Calvin Williams after this season.

If they pass Megatron this quickly, they are a lock for the HOF.  Maybe even first vote.

Nah.   That part is a stretch.   The Phillies got to the World Series and they got to within one game of going back to the World Series in back to back years.   When have the Cowboys even sniffed that level of success.    Baseball is a much different sport than football.   Baseball, at its heart, really still comes down to pitching.  Hit the wrong pitcher at the wrong time and things go south.   And hitting is traditionally a very streaky thing.   It was unfortunate that the bats died at the same time, and that's where you hope the addition of Merrifield might help so that they aren't reliant on Castellanos if he goes ice cold again.   And Rojas is improving as a hitter.   Bohm is better as a hitter.  Stott is rounding out nicely, as is Marsh.    There are no guarantees in baseball.  It isn't as simple as imposing your will on the opponent in the same way football is.

I get not wanting to be let down again... but the ride is part of the enjoyment of the ending.

Something about opening at the Linc against Cousins.

Is this good we get Cousins at a non 1:00 start time?

Speaking of the stupidity of retiring numbers. I just got an alert that the Nets are retiring Vince Carters number. He played 5 seasons for them, FIVE, and they are retiring his number.

Smith for the same reasoning even though it’s funny everyone thinks a 170lb dude will last longer than a 220+ guy.

Also don’t think either come close to Carmichael’s TD’s.

Marvin Harrison says hold my scotch.

NFL loves putting us in prime time against Cousins lol.

Speaking from the position of having a very active toddler who naps at 1:00

Not from the Bills on. They were awful against the run

They were awful at everything.  I don't think it was personnel.

Well his number is hanging in the rafters at UNC and he only played 3 seasons in college.

So coaching told the players to ignore gap responsibilities, miss tackles, and get pushed around?

Why aren't they bringing back some of those players / spending money on defense if the personnel was fine???

I wonder how many weeks fans in Europe will need to wait to watch a 1pm game? Can't see it being more than 3 or 4 - just hope it's not another Christmas day game as well.

Always depressing when looking at the schedule how few 1PM games there are.   I love Eagles on Sunday afternoon at 1PM.   I like Eagles at 4:25PM on Sunday evening.    I do not like Sunday Night or Monday Night games... and I abhor Thursday Night games.

Week 5 BYE is awful if that's true.

But that schedule seems sketchy. No Cowboys/Giants primetime game? That would be a first in a long time.

Only 4 primetime games seems extremely light.

Don't love week 5 bye

If true, Eagles play in their stadium only twice in basically the first half of the season.  NFL loves going in dry on us for some reason with regard to the schedule

Not implying that at all.

Yeah that's really bad news.  They shouldn't even have bye weeks that early.

That's just great for a team coming into the season with two brand new coordinators

Giants are the Offseason Hard Knocks, basically follows them through FA and the draft. Guess this means no NFCE Training Camp Hard Knocks this year.

Aside from the awful week 5 bye, the schedule is pretty well balanced. No nonsense like last year with all those tough games in a row. The toughest part is probably the Bengals, Jags, Cowboys. If the Eagles can somehow win 2 of those 3, their chances to win the division will probably skyrocket. And I think they have a good chance to win it anyway.

Now to see how Dallas gets the red carpet schedule rolled out for them. A bye right before or right after their TNF game, nice juicy bye week, etc.
