The NFL has a legit following in Germany. Most general sports fan have an NFL team they follow like many Americans have a premier league team

we’re sending them giants panthers to reward them

1 - Scheffler, not the PGA, was operating the car.

2 - He arrived EARLY to work out, not for his tee time.   It was still DARK outside when all this went down.

3 - He was arrested, booked at the station, mug shotted and back to the course more than an hour before his scheduled tee time.   He wasn't in any kind of time crunch.  And, mitigating circumstances cause delays to PGA tee times all the time, not limited to, but including weather conditions.  I would think a fatal accident at the entrance to the course would be a mitigating circumstance that would allow for grace from the PGA.

4 - Cell phones work both ways.  All of these events happened very quickly, we don't know what the PGA did or didn't communicate, nor do we know the exact timeline of when the accident occurred and when Scheffler arrived.   It was very early, and like I said DARK outside.  They don't play golf pre-dawn.   There was time for Scheffler to follow the directions he was given by the police on the scene and deal with the details of his arrival time after SAFELY navigating himself through traffic.

5 - No matter what excuse one can come up with, there is no excuse for him clipping someone with his car, especially a police officer directing traffic at the scene of an accident.  He wasn't operating his vehicle in a safe manner, and that's 100% the responsibility of the driver... no one else.

No one is responsible for how Scheffler conducted himself beyond Scheffler.

I did not hear that he clipped anybody with his car. He was probably only driving about 5 miles an hour over that median.  I think this thing is a big nothing burger that he will be free of very soon.

Call it whatever you want.

The officer -- Det. Bryan Gillis, identified as Det. Gillis in the arrest report -- was dragged "to the ground" and suffered "pain, swelling, and abrasions to his left wrist" after the car "accelerated forward," according to the police report.

The officer was dressed in a high visibility reflective jacket when he stopped Scheffler's car to give instructions, the arrest sheet said. Gillis was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

I believe it is this part of the incident that qualifies for the felony charge - 2nd degree assault of a police officer.

The fact that he was able to make his tee time the same day as this incident is a pretty big indicator of exactly how much trouble this guy is in.

I don't follow golf at all so no idea who this guy is. Thought Adam Schefter was in trouble when I saw the non-stop headlines about it. Still don't know what's happening. All I can think of is this.

Yeah, we can agree to disagree on this one… police reports can also make things sound worse than they were.  I’m not saying Scottie Scheffler didn’t do anything wrong… I’m saying four counts, including a felony, is utterly ridiculous given the circumstances.  But again, we can agree to disagree.

Yup, cops can get pretty crazy when they want to.

He will pay a fine and all will be forgiven. There's zero chance any of this will impact his life in any meaningful way.

Imagine what most people would do to get around an accident holding up traffic, if they had millions of dollars on the line and needed to get somewhere in a timely fashion to get that money.

Are you insinuating that he should have gotten a helicopter to get there as if that wasn't how Kobe died?  wtf man.

Act as if what matters to them is more important than what matters to anyone else, including law officers.
He was hours ahead of tee-time. He could have waited. But no.I may curse and pound my steering wheel  in such a moment but I’ll live with it. This is not a case of abridging civil rights.

He was too important to wait.

Listen — for someone who runs off crying every time your feelings get hurt, you always sling judgmental crap towards others with alarming speed.  My initial response to you was as polite as I’m gonna get.

I own every comment I make on here; I’ll give you some free advice and encourage you to do the same.  Perhaps some self awareness and reflection would help you out.

Now put me on your ignore list and F off.
