Has nothing to do with Covey. The issue with Covey is can he do anything else for this team rather than be the PR when there are now other options at PR who will also play meaningful snaps during the game.

It's the first time in the last 4 years he created separation. 

We have 2 dependable receivers and a maybe with Campbell. We need another guy, no benefit in gambling with rookies on winning the slot/4th role.

Howie got extra 3/4/5th rounders for this reason. He’s great at making training camp trades like Darby, CJGJ, Minshew…

Id like to see a 4th or a 5th for a guy like Metchie.

Agree, but wish he would have done this a few weeks back when Zay Jones and DJ Chark were still available. Not that those guys are going to make or break the season, but both would have been solid options for WR3 competition.

Hunter Renfrow and Sterling Shepard would be solid veteran WR additions.

WR room is simple now. Brown, AJ, Campbell + Smith/Covey/Wilson for 2-3 spots. If Covey isn't the primary returner, he's not active on gameday.
