May 28, 20241 yr It's not 25% nor is it Zero. maybe 5-10%. After all, most cheese steak places only take cash. I rarely carry any cash.

I had one of Sam's kids as a teacher at Unionville and some of the kids were my age at Unionville as well. I mostly went to Johnson's Food Market back in the day but occasionally we got something from Sam's.
May 28, 20241 yr Author I keep a 20 in my wallet so I don't feel naked but I never use it. Think I swapped it out once in the last 5 years. Some places over here won't take cash or credit cards. You have to use a mobile app. Still pretty rare but say 10% of small shops.

May 28, 20241 yr I still use cash from time to time, especially in restaurants and such. Also, if you are out with people, are you making them do separate checks? We had a visitor from Sweden in, so I picked up soft pretzels on my way into the office, so he could try them. They offered 10% off for cash, so I paid in cash.

May 28, 20241 yr I just recently signed up for Zelle. I don't have Venmo , paypal, I barely have any apps on my phone. Are they safe? Safer than me just handing over the card? I check my transactions almost daily.

May 28, 20241 yr Cash uses: 1. Tips for service workers (drivers, hotel staff, etc.) 2. People who work at the house (maid, gardener, etc.) 3. Offer cash to someone doing contractor work to get better price (having our deck re-stained and got 20% off for paying cash) 4. Gambling (though I have a credit line most places) 5. Stuff the wife and/or government doesn't need to know about I refuse to use Venmo, Zelle, etc.
May 28, 20241 yr I won't put Venmo, Zelle, etc. or even a banking app on my phone. Know people who have had their phones stolen/taken and someone got the passcode.
