Posted July 26, 20204 yr Not saying Wentz couldn't have, but it would have been hard for any QB to match performance of Foles in Super Bowl LII. Maybe Butler wouldn't have been benched if Wentz played.

They won the super bowl end of story. No need to change anything. The eagles finally won the damn thing!!

Do we think this world would have been better if your daddy used a rubber?..........................Yes Sorry you set yourself up for it :) Too many what if's in this world - What if Peters didnt get injuried - What if Hicks was not injuried - What if Jenkins did not knock out Cooks? - What if the Refs screwed us on any of those TDs calling them back? - What if Brady's hand did not get hurt in practice a week before? this list can go on and on and on.
July 26, 20204 yr Huge wentz fan. But im Not sure. Maybe because i dont want to think about it. My gut tells me we get to the super bowl and lose(again) to brady. Brady balled that day and not sure how wentz would have responded. We all know how foles responded I know we wouldnt have the philly special.
July 26, 20204 yr No. I can come off as a Wentz hater sometimes, but the clutch factor is weighted extremely highly on my QB evaluation scale. Foles has that in spades and better accuracy most of the time. I hope Wentz can get there because, as we all know, his physical ability is off the charts. I think a more interesting question is whether or not the Eagles win the following Super Bowl if Alshon doesn't drop the pass at the end of the Saints game. I wholeheartedly believe they massacre the Rams and that Pats rematch is a toss up.
July 26, 20204 yr Who knows. We will never know the answer. It's easy to say we wouldn't have but most of us said we wouldn't win it with Foles. And I'm not sure anyone thought Foles would perform at the level he did against Minnesota and New England. What we know is Wentz was on fire when he got hurt. That's what we do know. He could have continued that or perhaps in those big spots he would have let it get the best of him.

Only thing is that this was his 2nd year and maybe he hits a game in the playoffs where his lack of experience hurts him and he struggles. Foles had experience and has played in playoff games before which might have helped him.
July 27, 20204 yr The game would've played out differently, include play calling. All things considered, YES.
July 27, 20204 yr The Eagles were the best team in the NFL by Week 6, so the answer is yes, and it doesn’t require any further analysis. Btw — the Eagles would have scored 50+ points if Malcolm Butler had played. The Pats pass defense was 30th in the NFL all season, with Butler in the lineup. — Would he have broken up the pass that Jeffery leaped for in the back of the end zone? Nope — Would he have tackled Blount? Nope — Would he have been covering Corey Clement? Nope — Would he have blown up 250 lb Zach Ertz the way he did the SEA WR at the goal line? Nope — Would he have even stopped the pass in the end zone that Eric Rowe did against Jeffery? Nope Enough of the Malcolm Butler crapola; kudos for the play he made to beat SEA, but he just wasn’t particularly good, before that play or afterward

Cam threw 3 picks, and Carson diced them up on offense. Sorry......the fans in Charlotte are awful.
July 27, 20204 yr These types of what if scenarios are dumb. There are so many things that could have went different. Look at how many stud players were out that year by the playoffs not just Wentz. I mean what if Sproles isn't hurt, does Clement still catch that TD? Is he even in the game in that situation? That was a team of destiny IMO, it started way back in TC that year. You could just kind of feel it coming and there was no stopping it. Why try to analyze it or minimize anyone on that team? IMO everyone on that team was special and had an impact bringing us our first SB!
July 27, 20204 yr Maybe...maybe not. My biggest thing is that the team rallied after Wentz's injury and played with "house money" in the playoffs, especially the Super Bowl. Maybe with Wentz in they would've been more conservative. No one will ever know but what we DO know is what happened and how beautiful it was.

July 27, 20204 yr Maybe, maybe not. Thankfully they won it. I certainly had lost almost all hope after the Rams game. So, only the Wentz in the parallel universe where he didn't tear his acl knows.
July 28, 20204 yr We just can't help ourselves can we lol. Gotta keep doing the Wentz vs Foles thing. I love Foles. Wentz is a better QB and it isn't close. So 1000 times yes.
July 28, 20204 yr Don’t care. More importantly can he win another one? That’s all that matters. Ike Reese thinks he will in two years. We will see.
July 28, 20204 yr He was MVP of the league had he not been injured. So yes. He was playing lights out all year.
