Some quick thoughts on "Liberation Day," also known as "Liquidation Day." Obviously, these tariffs are way beyond anything the market expected. I think very little of Trump and the administration

A trade deal with the UK is the "big news"? A deal with the penguins would've been more impactful than this nonsense.

Looks like a framework of a deal as well

Can't even cut a deal with a country we have a trade surplus with.

This deal is useless just like this administration is useless. Recession is coming.

you don't get it though.

in Trump's mind it's not "shared sacrifice".

it's "someone else" sacrifices.

We still get to pay 10% tariffs so that's good.

and yet here is trump, wasting time and resources, trying to save the elite libs in cali.

trump getting involved to save something could actually mean the end of film production in Hollywood all together.

I mean the economy was rolling right along until trump decided he wanted to save America. Now we’re looking at possible war rations and we’re not even in a declaration of war.

I could be but I don't back DEI policies.

Cinch em up

Is the U.S. economic contraction of 0.3% in Q1 a warning of what’s ahead?

A month before the start of Q1, our December Elliott Wave Financial Forecast laid out data which spoke for itself – and the message still applies:

"This chart shows that the Conference Board’s Leading Economic Index (LEI) peaked in December 2021. The index has not had an uptick for 32 consecutive months, since February 2022. It’s now at its lowest level since March 2016. In the history of the data back to 1959, there has never been a turndown of this magnitude without an ensuing recession.

"The current LEI decline is a Fibonacci 34 months old, starting at the December 2021 high. Prior to the current contraction, the longest LEI decline prior to a recession was a Fibonacci 21 months, from March 2006 to December 2007. It was followed by the steepest economic contraction since the Great Depression."
