I think Vegas is transitioning itself from a gambling destination to an event destination. Gambling is getting legalized all over, so there's less incentive to fly to Vegas to do what most people can now do w/i an hour of home. Destination sporting events and conventions are going to be their bread and butter for awhile.

I have a hard time feeling sorry for anyone who voted against their own self-interests resulting in negative economic consequences. But especially so for those who did so out of spite or hatred for marginalized groups of people.

Hundreds of employees at Tyson Foods were officially put out of a job by the close of business Friday when the company’s plant in Glen Allen closed operations.

Trumps tariffs aren’t good, but they’re not the reason why plants closed before tariffs were announced.

Pretty sure that report was about the two in PA and one in Emporia Kansas which were closed earlier this year. But they were announced end of 2024.

Tyson has been closing plants and consolidating operations for years.

That said, manufacturing jobs are down for the last five months including a loss of 11,000 manufacturing jobs in July. Which is consistent with the overall trend following normalization after Covid.
