Fever was short but everything including extreme fatigue lasted well over a week. I got it first and then schmoopie 2 days later and Ellie after that so it’s been fun here. Combine that with my project getting paused because the client losing funding causing me to scramble to try to find something before they can me and yeah, I’ve only had time/energy to keep up with FA in the blog Something definitely seems to be going around. That really sucks about your client. Is there a chance they get their funding back? Did you find something else already?

My dad's MAGA but not really the a-hole variety you see here. He doesn't understand why I don't support him. I don't understand why he does. So we don't really talk about it and try to focus on things that matter more. Mostly money and career stuff. But ..... it's hard to talk about that right now when this moron in the White House is taking a hatchet to the economy.

You'll get over a flu like thing, but getting caught with that while facing some threatening crap at work sucks. Gotta keep schmoopy in a manner to which she's accustomed.

The whole family getting sick with your job on the line, or your only mental reprieve being checking TATE just to find out we signed Harrison Bryant and Joshua Uche. Sorry man that's rough. And when I need a pick me up you’re posting pics of your gross feet in here instead of the blog like you are supposed to!

Did you find something else already? No. Basically they filed for a rate increase with California to fund this project. They assumed they would get it and we started working. They found out that they were denied and had to put the project on pause. They did invest 11 million in SAP licenses so that will likely go forward, but my piece was custom so that got cut. What REALLY sucks is there was an AMI 2.0 POC that wanted me to lead it, which would have covered me for the year (and assuming we win the full project 2 more years for me). As for finding something else the only thing right now is an automate gas metering project in Ireland. But a lot of people are up for it, including my mentor, so it’s slim.

I covered the bulk of it in the previous post. One other thing is, I am exploring a transfer to a group that focuses on E&U vs my current group which is just big data. I would end up being aligned with my mentor and reporting to the same boss, so we would have more collaboration. There is a lower utilization rating which will keep me alive a little longer but there may also be a sales quota, which would be new to me. That has caused some really good people I know to get canned so that’s a bit scary. TL:DR; tech continues to be brutal.

My wife was hit with influenza A last month, and it kicked her butt for about 2-3 weeks. She normally gets the jab, but didn’t this year. I got the double jab last year and was spared.

I have a strained relationship with my folks as it is… my pops and I got into it over student loan forgiveness a few years ago. Then got scolded by the wife for engaging in an argument with someone who paid $1800 a semester in tuition.
