Without a good pass rush, I doubt it’s sustainable and good enough to beat teams deep into the playoffs.

Fair.  But I am seeing this defense on a trajectory.  Vic will get more creative as the unit becomes even more cohesive.

Huff has been better the last two games. Fingers crossed he is trending upward.

Milton Williams could be an interesting trade chip.

We're already too light on DT's, trading Williams away would just create a new issue to replace not having enough pass rush at DE.

Idk we don’t get this interaction between analyst bissonette and the kraken mascot without it

They definitely needed to get AJ, Smitty and Lane healthy.

I'm not sure what the bye had to do with it but Hurts and the D have looked a WHOLE lot better since the bye. Yesterday they looked like they belonged in the playoffs discussion.

Do the Browns need CB help? I could be mistaken, but doesn't Darius Slay have a history with Jim Schwartz? I know he'd be just a small piece, but I want the young guys on the field. DeJean, Rodgers and Ringo all need to play.

Why would the Browns want to trade for an old cornerback with a 2–6 record?

Slay’s going to get nicked enough to give the young guys plenty of playing time this year.  The Eagles are going to likely make the playoffs, I will take the depth this year vs selling for peanuts

If trading a rotational DT can get you Myles Garrett, you do it.

Moro Ojomo and Thomas Booker deserve more snaps. I'd love to see what Siaki Ika can do at some point.

Garrett and Crosby aren't getting traded. Every team in the league would want them.

Williams is also in a contract year and probably not getting re-signed.

I agree, we have options in him and Bradbury this offseason - unless we’re getting an impact player on the DL I don’t see the value in trading for a late round pick.

Von Miller was traded for a 2nd and a 3rd, at 32 years old, as a rental with no years left on his contract.

Myles Garrett is 28 and has two extremely cheap years left on his contract after this year.

Milton Williams and Darius Slay are not moving the needle at all on a trade. It would probably take at minimum a 1st and a 2nd.

So, in light of your second sentence -- if you're GM of the Raiders or Browns and your season is pretty much done at 2-6 with no prospects to be any better next season -- why aren't they getting traded?

First, I don’t see the Browns trading him. Even being as bad as they are they won’t do it. Second, this is why in the off-season when Brian Burns became available and he went for what he did, we should’ve been in on him. That might be the one good move the Giants made this off-season was to acquire Brian Burns for essentially a second round pick. He’s not Myles Garrett, but he’s a damn good pass rusher.

Pretty sure Davis said he’s not trading Crosby. Frankly they should but i think Davis won’t allow it

The Browns' roster is ready to win now. They should keep Garrett and try to win in 2025 with a new QB. Trading Garrett would also be tough from a cap perspective and they have Watson to deal with.

The Raiders should trade him, but they have no one else they can put on any promotional material. If they trade Crosby, forget 2025 and possibly 2026.

Not that things won't change and know this wasn't addressed to me but here is what Mark Davis apparently sent to ESPN

"We're Not Trading Maxx Crosby. Before Or After The Trade Deadline!!!" Davis' email read, according to ESPN.

Frankly i could see the raiders just falling completely apart if they trade Crosby. Which might ultimately benefit them and i suspect they’d take shedeur sanders at Qb and have the assets to move up if they do want him

Because those kinds of players are extremely difficult to find and you keep them when you have them.

Same. I don't see why they would unless it's an absolute haul. He's still young enough to build around.

I think they would get a massive haul for him.  somebody would be willing to give it up. I think the problem with the Browns is they need another quarterback, but Deshaun Watson is on that roster for at least two more years. shedeur and Deion are not gonna wanna go to Cleveland. I guarantee they pull a Eli Manning type thing. You would have to be sold on cam Ward and beck and want to have those picks to maneuver to get that quarterback. I just don’t see them doing it.

Did you say that first sentence out loud before you typed it?  Because it's patently false.

Tbh with the browns i think there’s a better chance they trade nick chubb then Garrett.

If I'm 2-6 with you, just how valuable are you to me?  I can lose just as well with anybody else.  Your value becomes what you can bring back.

In MLB it's more abstract; prospects often flame out.  In the NFL a few high draft picks are more valuable if you can draft well.
