Those photos really illustrate how they got the colors wrong last year. Compare the green in Cunningham/Hurts photo and try to say they're the same shade. You can't.

You could say it but it would not make it so.
Just quibbling. Sorry. You’re right.

They should have redshirted him from the start.

Instead they got him injured early which stunted his development and now they’re benching him which will mess with him psychologically.

Everyone knew he wasn’t ready to start from day one. That was his entire scouting report. One of the highest upside prospects ever because of his athleticism and size, but he needed a TON of work before he would be NFL ready.

Just terrible player development by the Colts.

Or a terribly over rated prospect

At this stage of the season, this isn’t bad. They’ll all be back, sooner rather than later, and the subs are filling in nicely. For me, Fred Thompson has been a revelation. No Malaya, no Becton, a scare with Lane, were good.

How many PA’s did they run?  Right after half time i went into casual mode when it was obvious they weren’t slowing down (and I had meat on the smoker).

There was no displayed upside in college to warrant his draft position.  He was lost in college just heaving balls randomly around the field too.  He’s the discount version of Joe Milton, who went in the 6th this past draft?  I thought he was barely draft worthy outside of a 5th on flyer for a team that could let him sit for 10 years or so.

It seemed the Fred got a lot more help this week and wasn’t left on an island as much.  I think it was the long Smitty TD pass, he had a marvelous recovery and allowed that to happen.  That really stood out to me, looked like he got knocked off his spot, recovered and got low and just drove into the chest protector while slamming on the brakes.  Looked like he nearly succeeded in pulling off the dirty dancing lift on the DE haha.

I said this a couple weeks ago, the product is really not great right now in the nfl. There’s a lot of bad football being played. Even some of the good teams aren’t playing really good football. Imo Lions are easily playing the best out of everyone. Eagles the past two weeks have been trending that way. But even Kansas City i don’t think has been great offensively but good defensively to get to 7-0.

I agree about the product. Not very good, especially the QB play around the league, yikes. We went through a great stretch with Peyton, Tom, Drew, Big Ben, Phillip, Aaron Rodgers (who's on his last legs). Heck, even Eli was somewhat competent. Now it's just dreck. I used to want to watch football all day long but now I'm good with just watching the birds then finding something else to do.

Like I said... beating the Bengals isn't a feather in the cap.   They have 3 wins.  Panthers, Giants and Browns.    And Eagles are 3-0 since the bye over:  Bengals, Giants and Browns.

It's a great situation to be in. Rodgers and Ringo are two wild cards. Rodgers has played very well in his limited snaps this year. Ringo was decent too, but I think it's clear that Rodgers is the better of the two...as of today.

I still wonder if Ringo can make a Malcolm Jenkins CB to S move to better fit his skillset.

If it were up to me, I'm giving Rodgers an extension and not letting him test the open market. Move Ringo to S or see if someone overpays in a trade based on his upside.

WTF makes you think Ringo’s skill set better fits at S?  Next year when Rodgers is gone, Ringo will move up the depth chart and when Slay is gone or out, he will play outside.  My guess is if DeJawn shows he can play OCB too, it may be DeJawn and Q as the starting CBs with Ringo  taking outside and DeJawn in the nickel DB when the Eagles have their nickel and dime packages in.  (DeJawn really is playing a kind of nickel CB/third S sort of position right now and is excellent at it.

Every time I put on the All22 and watch any snaps that Ringo gets I see a real fast OCB with good mirroring skills that just hasn’t quite figured out the finish on the play yet.  Happens with a lot of young CBs figuring out what level of touching is allowed in the NFL. (I would say contact but I don’t want to confuse that with illegal contact.). He’s so close.  The only DB on the roster younger than Ringo is DeJawn.  (By 7 1/2 months).

With the remaining Cox and Kelce cap hits next year plus the first year of Graham and Bradberry, I don’t expect the Eagles to be active in free agency next year.  Rodgers should land a comp pick. I think Howie uses any extra cap money for extensions.

Dotson has been highly disappointing so far.  Covey going to be our main slot guy when he returns?  Also, what's going on with Johnny Wilson?

Not entirely.  He is a bit undisciplined in his route running.  He’s seven games in with Hurts.   Give it time.

So who does everyone think the "few guys" were? I'd guess Lane is a guy whose voice carries a lot of weight, and he did make the "constipated" offense comment.

Whoever they were, good on them for speaking up.

Sorry to disagree, but I do.  Every win is a ‘feather’ in the cap.  If we can’t agree with that premise, then the conversation can end here, and that’s fine.  Everyone has their own parameters.

Joe Burrow is a pretty damn big feather in my opinion.  This team finished the last 7 or so games of the season last year pretty much dead last in pass defense.   Joe Burrow just started this game dealing. I’m pretty sure I saw that his EPA, whatever that is exactly (nerds chime in here), was the very best in the league during this game.  Eagles adjusted and beat him.

But yeah,… It’s not the Chiefs or the Ravens, or the Lions… Or whatever team the talking heads say is the best this week… So it does not mean anything.

Don’t you ever get tired of that?

This is a good week to sit Slay and Goedert. We should win without em.

AJ Brown missed 3 1/2 weeks with his hamstring (he got hurt on a Friday) and missed 3 games + bye. That puts Goedert on track for the Cowboys or Commanders game.

They have showed over the last 3 games that they are not the team they were down the stretch at the end of last season.   That I can give them.  I cannot go so far as to say that they beat a 'good team' as some have posited.  The Bengals are not a good team this year, they just aren't.   Joe Burrow is a very good QB.  But, that alone doesn't make them a good team.

I don't get tired of describing the team as I see them.   They are better than they were down the stretch last year, over the past 3 weeks.  Last year's team lost to the lowly Cardinals.  Recently this team showed that they wouldn't lose to a team like that.   But, they need to prove it again Sunday.  Jax is on that list too.   Eagles need to handle their business again.   But, right now, I can't say that they are a legit contender.   They are trending that way, but they aren't there yet.   And yes, I am dealing with PTSD from last year.  (and other years)

What's interesting about our defense is that we've actually had a really tough schedule so far. 4 top 10 opponents in DVOA + Saints when they were actually good/healthy on offense.

What our D did to the Bengals offense was impressive.

I now have hope for the defense that I didn't have going into the bye.   They are also playing with different wrinkles than we saw before the bye.  Maybe that's a function of the extra weeks of practice and learning the basics and being able to move on to the wrinkles.   BUT, that just bothers me that they didn't utilize all the on field time that they had available to work on these things before the season started.

Completely fair. Fully agree.

I'll add this: Cooper DeJean.
