I must be the only Phillies fan who hates the Dodgers more than the Yankees. Yeah, I hate them both, but there's just something about the Dodgers ('77 and '78 will never be forgotten) that irritate me even more. Fat-ass Lasorda has always made my skin crawl.

Yup....I moved to Northern California from Philadelphia in the early 70's, so I have been dealing with the Giants/Dodgers rivalry here for decades. There was some drama between the two teams in the 60's, but the hatred in the rivalry really took in the late 70's with , of all things, severe drought in California. Northern California has most of the water for the state and a lot of the water is sent south to LA. During the drought years, Northern California faced brutal restrictions of water use. Pools were shut, it was illegal to water our lawns, no car washes, and we put bricks in the toilet and limited flushing among other things. Neighbors were encouraged to turn in neighbors. It was a brutal time.

Meanwhile Southern California had no restriction on their water use and faced no consequences for usage. This created real hatred among the two parts of California and it has been bitter ever since. Candlestick Park was notorious for the fights. I truly hate the Dodgers and their fans to this day

Yeah I don't know that choke accurately describes the 5 scores with 2 outs in 5th inning.

Glad those bum fans got to watch another team celebrate a championship on their field

Frankly the dodgers had +8000 odds to win that game when they were down 5-0 in the 5th. It wasn’t just blowing a 5 runs but how they did it. Judge dropping a routine fly ball, poor throw to third and then the rizzo/cole issue

No secret in these parts I'm a diehard Braves fan having grown up in south Georgia.

My thoughts on Freddie Freeman's performance:

I mean, you really have to hand it to Freddie Freeman.

'Cause if you tried to throw it to him, he'd probably hit it over the fences...

Came across this in the way back machine...

Some people never understood Barkley being drafted so high in the first place.

This is Barry Sanders type stuff right here.  The Giants weren't stupid when they selected him, they were stupid with how they wasted him by not knowing how to put any pieces in place around him...

Right. It never looks the same. I think it's closer than we think, but the shade still isn't right.

I like the midnight green more than kelly green; always have.  The franchise has had better success with midnight green as well.

Thats a factor for me as well. Kelly Greens look better to me, but all my best eagles memories are Midnight Greens. Weirdly in the Midnight green jersey as well, there’s a disparity with the whites. Thats mainly why I’m resistant to go back to Kelly’s full time

Another hot take though, the 2023-2024 midnight greens are way better than the 2010’s or the old ones. I think that the green pops more, and the silver eagle wing is a bit darker so the white outline pops too. It’s up there with Chargers baby blues and Denver orange crush

That time of year when Lamar is banged up.

Not practicing on Thursday = very unlikely to play on Sunday.

Heard a clip, forget who it was, it was one of the insiders. Jeremy Fowler maybe? That said they know for a fact Howie is sniffing around pass rushers and he's looking to add one, even though Fangio likes where the defense is at. Said look for Howie to make a push to acquire a pass rusher even if it's only a rental.

Made me think about Chase Young. He could be a guy they could re-sign if he plays well to multiple years given his age. And he likely won't cost much at all. The price would probably be like a 5th for Young and a 6th or 7th.

From Fowler's column yesterday.

"Fowler: The Eagles are always a threat to make moves at the deadline, but they have no obvious needs. Left tackle Jordan Mailata will return soon. The youth experiment on defense is going well with pass rusher Nolan Smith Jr. and corners Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Would GM Howie Roseman take a shot at a star, such as Cardinals safety Budda Baker?"

I don't really understand how anyone new on defense would fit in at this point besides D-Line.

You are obviously lucky not to have spent a lot of time around Yankee fans.

Some of my very closest friends are/were Yankees fans. I still hate their team but I respect those friends and the history of the Yankees franchise. The only two teams I hate more are the Mets and Dodgers. (And the Cowboys of course.)

Right now there are no real open spots at DT: Carter, Davis, Williams, Ojomo, Booker. They're playing well. No need for an upgrade

At EDGE, there's Sweat/Huff/Smith/Graham + Hunt was the weekly inactive. There's only so many EDGE snaps to go. Unless we're trading for a true #1 EDGE, it's not worth it.

I can see a DE considering Sweat is pretty ineffective. Nolan Smith and Huff seem adequate but if you can get a star then you do it.

Im more on board with some bulldozer RB if there is one available.

Gainwell has been fine in very limited carries. Id love to see Shipley play. But if we really want to become a physical running team like 2017, then you need those kind of horses like Blount and Ajayi were. Theres no one physical behind Barkley. Shipley and Gainwell run tough for their size, but theyre not wear a defense down type runners. Id like one of those.  ESPECIALLY as insurance if/when Barkley gets is yearly injury that slows him down.

I don't think Crosby or Garrett are realistic, but I think Hendrickson, Landry, Young are possibilities.

Same. Aren't a ton of great options. Would take a cheap contract + bad team + fits the profile.

Nick Chubb (making 1M) does fit the bill...

Only guys I see possibly getting moved is Chase Young, Clowney and Za'Dairus Smith.
