I don’t watch the Texans much. This is my first look at Stroud this year and I gotta say I’m kinda disappointed. He appears to be more flawed than I was expecting.

He really hasn’t played very well this year. He’s having a sophomore slump. I’ve watched 4 texans games, he’s been really underwhelming. Granted tonight he is down Collins and diggs but even before those injuries he wasn’t playing like last year

I don’t think so, honestly.

No one was saying he was a lock to be a pro bowler or anything. The entire scouting report was boom or bust.

Basically everyone acknowledged the obvious: he was extremely raw and undeveloped but had near Mike Vick speed in the body of Cam Newton and the arm of Jeff George. Basically the perfect prospect physically.

With that kind of talent, if you believe you can develop him you have to go get him, because he won’t last long.

It’s easy now to say overrated. If he had gone to KC, gotten the Andy Reid development treatment, are you sure he’d be considered overrated? Because I’m not. QBs more than any position need proper circumstances to develop.

Mahomes is the outlier. Most are over rated and bust out.

bc Qb more than any position is about the mental speed not the physical speed

Wow jets are going to beat Houston

Tough night for the Texans. They still have their division on lock though.

That's why you don't call a game over too early.

Definitely a bit of a sophomore slump. He’s been hit a TON tonight though. They have work to do on the interior of that line.

I will forever love Jalen Mills

Kind of miss Reddick he's looking good

What disturbed me most about Stroud was the way he was constantly backpedaling whenever he felt pressure. We all know how Hurts generally defaults to retreating/rolling out to his right when he senses a rush. It seemed to me as though Stroud's default mechanism was to simply backpedal in the pocket. The problem is, he was simply losing yardage on the ensuing sack. On each of the Texans first three field goal attempts, Stroud took a deep sack on third down which lengthened the attempt by about ten yards. It was maddening to me how poor his pocket presence was. And not only that, but he was off target on a lot of his passes, missing open receivers by a yard or two multiple times.

There were rave reviews about him last year but from what I saw tonight, I thought he looked like a talented dude who has a lot of flaws in his game. The Texans are not a rival of ours, so I don't really care very much one way or the other. But I was definitely underwhelmed.

The old Kevin Kolb automatic response to pressure.  Stroud is a weird one, he looks every part of his ‘draft report’ this year after darn near winning ROTY and MVP last year.

The AFC has 8 Teams with 5 or more Losses.  The NFC Only as 3 Teams with 5 or more Losses.  The Jets are definitely alive after that win last night.

The problem with early success is it can make bad habits more ingrained.

Our best defender the last 2 years. Gonna need to get another Edge next year. Biggest priority IMO

Never watched this guy before…think his channel is new.  He’s a Dolphins fan:

Yup....I moved to Northern California from Philadelphia in the early 70's, so I have been dealing with the Giants/Dodgers rivalry here for decades. There was some drama between the two teams in the 60's, but the hatred in the rivalry really took in the late 70's with , of all things, severe drought in California. Northern California has most of the water for the state and a lot of the water is sent south to LA. During the drought years, Northern California faced brutal restrictions of water use. Pools were shut, it was illegal to water our lawns, no car washes, and we put bricks in the toilet and limited flushing among other things. Neighbors were encouraged to turn in neighbors. It was a brutal time.

Meanwhile Southern California had no restriction on their water use and faced no consequences for usage. This created real hatred among the two parts of California and it has been bitter ever since. Candlestick Park was notorious for the fights. I truly hate the Dodgers and their fans to this day

I lived in SF for 5 years during the giants championship runs of the 2010s, everybody wearing Giants merch, the Bart was a a sea of crammed black and orange, I loved living in N California and though we never had the drought restrictions you did I have zero good feeling towards S California.

I have an eagles hat I wear everywhere, and it always startles me when people shout "Go Birds” at me

I usually reply "thank you” or "you too” out of reflex before remembering I should repeat it

I was at home depot the other day and a guy was wearing a kelly green eagles hat, I yelled go birds at him and he replied, " Thankyou" 😄

Were you at Home depot a couple days ago in wichita KS, and do you have a mullet?

It's interesting how opinions flip flop from game to game though. People were hyping up Stroud and saying he's better than Hurts. Early in the game last night, saying the Jets were trash and the game was over. Then Stroud didn't play well and the Jets took over and won. After, people saying Stroud is not as good as they thought, disappointing, and noting all his flaws and things he has to improve.

In another game the Jets will stink and Stroud will play well. You can't base things off 1 game but the performance throughout the season. Some players or teams have down games. What matters is bouncing back from a bad game. Stroud is a solid young player who will only get better.

Another example - Jayden Daniels.  To listen to the talking heads, this dude's bust in Canton is already being cast.

Just how it is. WIP went from "Eagles aren't a playoff team" to "Eagles are Super Bowl contenders" all because of the Bengals game.

I’d argue stroud hasn’t played well over his last 3 games. Over that time he’s completing 53% of his passes (46-88), has 1 TD, 0 ints, 2 fumbles and 1 lost. Averaging 187 pass yards over that stretch. One game he didn’t even reach 100 yards passing yards. 72.5 qb rating and 2 of 3 games he’s been in the 50s. With stroud i think you have to look at his season into thirds. His first third (3 games) he was solid to good. His next third he was close to what he was last year. This last third he’s been bad for most of the games.
