Just how it is. WIP went from "Eagles aren't a playoff team" to "Eagles are Super Bowl contenders" all because of the Bengals game.

TBH I think the NFC is more of a reason why you could believe that the Eagles could get to a Super Bowl. it’s likely going to be the Lions cause they’re playing in another level right now that nobody’s really at. But when you look at the landscape of the NFC, it’s really not great.

The NFC West is a mess because the Niners can’t stay healthy and they’re not as good as they have been in previous years. The Rams can’t stay healthy and frankly I just don’t think their defense is all that good. Tampa  bay lost their best offensive weapons, one for the season and one for an extended period of time. The Packers could be there if Jordan loves stop turning the ball over and stays healthy. I really don’t think Minnesota is as good as the record indicates. I think they come back towards their mean. The commanders are solid to good but likely a year away from being that type of contender. So then it leaves you with the Eagles who over the last two weeks of played very well and probably more talented then most of the teams i mentioned.

Another example - Jayden Daniels.  To listen to the talking heads, this dude's bust in Canton is already being cast.

I'd be surprised if he lasted that long. He looks like a very skinny 6'4

Though maybe he'll smarten up and not try to break tackles soon

As everyone expected the 49ers are CMC and without him they aren't good

They’ve had more issues than just cmc. He’s their biggest one. But Kittle missed a game and was banged up early in the year. Aiyuk got hurt (done for the year) and deebo also missed a game and left early. Heck even their draft pick got shot in the chest and missed time. They are 4-4 but could be worse considering. Also could be better as games with rams and cardinals went down to the wire. I don’t think they are as good as past version even with healthy cmc but they also could go on a run and still wind up being 2nd best team in the conference

You can easily make the case we're the 2nd best team in the NFC.

Or the 5th.

It will be much easier after we play the Commanders, a better measuring stick than the Jags.

Ravens game too. Frankly the 4 toughest games remaining are ravens, commanders (x 2) and likely the rams out in LA (if they stay healthy). I’m curious to see how they matchup in those games.

Speaking of upcoming games...

We need to run at minimum 30 times against Dallas. They cannot stop it. If they sell out to try and do so, they still can't.

I have an eagles hat I wear everywhere, and it always startles me when people shout "Go Birds” at me

I usually reply "thank you” or "you too” out of reflex before remembering I should repeat it

I was at home depot the other day and a guy was wearing a kelly green eagles hat, I yelled go birds at him and he replied, " Thankyou" 😄

Were you at Home depot a couple days ago in wichita KS, and do you have a mullet?

In those moments, I typically just yell "Go Birds!" right back. Seems the most logical thing to say lol.

As much as I hate to say it, even as bad as Dallas has been at home this year, I'd still call that game tough until this team shows they can win there again.

Mahomes is the outlier. Most are over rated and bust out.

bc Qb more than any position is about the mental speed not the physical speed

Processing speed and spatial awareness are the 2 areas where Mahomes excels.  It's hard to imagine a situation where he wouldn't be productive because of these 2 traits.  I think those skills are too often thought to be developmental rather than intrinsic.  A great coach can make it easier and help the process but ultimately long-term a QB without those 2 traits at an above average level.

Did my first one of the year.  No idea why but would be ok with this.

I think being with AR helped a lot because if he'd gone somewhere else they may have had him run more and not develop as the great passer he is

Agreed he'd probably still succeed though. He has natural talent that's pretty insane

I don't watch any US College football or study any prospects until January, so this came to mind:

The first Dallas game to me depends on who is on the field for Dallas defensively. Because of Parsons is back and they get guys back healthy it’s a much tougher game. But if those guys are still out, you should be able to just run the ball down their throat on offense. On defense, they have one weapon in lamb that scares you. If fangio can figure a way to slow down chase then I’d feel pretty confident. I think the second game is likely harder guys more guys will be healthy for them.

Soccer also has no timeouts, subs are permanent, only one break in play for halftime and their players run 7-8 miles per game.

Just a little bit different than football, or any American sport, really.

Run?  They spend a lot of time standing around.

Devonta seemingly not practicing today.

The Eagles need to get homefield advantage. I think that means beating the Commanders twice.  In my view, that's this team's biggest obstacle.  If they are playing Detroit at the Linc, that's a big advantage for the team.  Goff isn't an outdoor QB.  My other hope is that they would face Atlanta or the Commanders in a first round match up.

I also don't think any team in the AFC looks like a juggernaut.  The Chiefs are undefeated but they don't look great on offense at all.  They have won a bunch of one score games.  Aside from Mahomes and the refs, I don't think they have a threat on the offensive side of the ball.  They have a challenging defense but I think it's one that the Eagles could run against.  The Bills have looked the best but they are entirely dependent on Josh Allen. I think the Eagles run game would make difficult on them but that would be a tough game.

If he ended up with the Bears, his trajectory is different but he's probably still an above average starter.

the bills i don’t trust their defense. I don’t think it’s as good as in year’s past. I do think Coleman developing and cooper getting more involved will make their offense more potent though. Then again don’t trust Buffalo to beat upper echelon afc teams when they need too in the playoffs. Frankly what makes the chief so good is that their defense is good enough to keep them in games (and sometimes even when it for them) until their offense can come around and score some points or do a game winning drive

Lions playing only 3 outdoor games this year is insane. I think they are going to get HFA if they continue to play at this level.
