Rivalries matter to the fans.

If the owners and players are convinced that realignment would put more money in their pockets, it would happen in minutes.

And the fans are where the money comes from.   When you continually undermine your base, your entire empire can fall.

Fans endure a lot.  It’s not like there would be a mass boycott.  And the football empire will continue to flourish as long as gamblers continue to gamble…

All that said, I do love the traditional rivalries

The fans haven't stopped spending money so far. Lots of teams have moved cities, changed names, etc. and the NFL is making more money than ever. The Browns fans were screwed over when the team left for Baltimore (then won 2 championships) and they had to start over.  Raiders have moved several times and they're the #5 team in financial value of all franchises. The Texans had to start over as an expansion team when the Oilers left, and they are #9 in financial value. The Rams moved to LA and are the #2 in value.

I don't care if they were to make the change or not, but we are picking and choosing which traditions matter to us subjectively, over others. Again, the Cardinals moved from the NFCE and they were one of the original teams as well.

With CJGJ, Blankenship, and Brown, I think not.

McCollum has looked pretty good in garbage time and on STs.  Yeah, he’s a bit of a JAG but as a fourth S that’s fine.

Eventually, there will be a tipping point.

I know I'm very late to this but I didn't watch the TNF game this week and didn't see any highlights.

I just saw the Garrett Wilson TD catch and wonder how that was ruled a TD?  Looked like he had 1 foot down then had the same foot/toe touch the ground a 2nd time.

Can you do that or aren't you supposed to have both feet/toes come down in bounds?

Shin = 2 feet

Personally,  after 50 years of hating the Cowboys, I wouldn't mind a different flavor of rival.  Put the Eagles in a division with the Packers, Vikings, San Fran and Pittsburgh and I wouldn't mind at all. I would easily transition.

The tipping point likely won't be teams moving cities, changing rivalries,  playing in other countries.   The tipping point will be future generations lose interest in the sport from playing it to watching it.  Football, as we know it, is about 100 years old.  I doubt it makes it another 100.

I wonder how much of the Eagles revenue from from fans - tickets, merch etc. vs. TV. I don't have any idea.

Twice a year at the Meadowlands? Ugh. So CA gets all its teams in one division but NY, OH, PA, FL and TX do not.  No thanks.

If you have Meta, this is a good watch.  Sproles talking about playing with Wentz.  We all know Sproles wasn't one to run his mouth so this is interesting to see his perspective of playing with Wentz.

If the Bengals are buyers, they probably don't plan to trade Hendrickson. Unless they buy and sell. Might just have to sign him outright in March.

He's going to get paaaid and we can't afford him on a UFA deal.

TV gets their money from fans too.  No eyeballs, no TV money.

Sure the Eagles can. They can afford anyone they want. Cap room isn't real, don't forget.

Not sure he's a JAG, small college DB with good speed and athleticism, size and willingness to tackle.

Sometimes it's a matter of being a "red-shirt" and adjusting to the pro game, then getting your break to show your stuff.

CBs can play right away, but safety is more a mental position, you have to recognize what's happening after the snap.

Let's go Penn State!!!!!!

And they don’t play Michigan this year, so that’s one less loss.

Oh so scared.  Really, Michigan? Wish we did play them this year because they are garbage.

I can't think of many changes that have made sports better as of late. Be it NIL, the transfer portal, conference realignment, overprotective rules, sponsorships and ads everywhere (helmets, jerseys, LED ribbon banners etc.) DJs at games, exclusive streaming, endless sports betting and gambling and so on. No one has asked for this stuff. Sports were so much better just 10 years ago.

OK, in the NFL, the practice squad and IR rules have helped, but that's about it.

Two HOFs.  The two best at their position in this franchise's history.

Who were the HOFers?

In the last 52 years the Bengals have only acquired players from an in season trade twice. What a boring franchise.

Sproles stole a lot of money from this team.
