Yep. A fumble by definition requires the opposing team to have possession. Even a muffed punt would technically go down as a new possession for our offense in the game book. Only a converted 4th down would constitute a continuation of the offensive possession, I think.

Well I’m still gonna say that my bonus prediction was correct since technically the set of downs never flipped over to them lol.  Such a weird thing though…i 100% get why for stat purposes it shows as a 2nd possession though.
