I love how it is so much easier to watch the games illegally than it is legally. The NFL needs to stop requiring so many different platforms to watch the game.

you went and looked for an instance where it was used, but in an informal way.

I'm not arguing that the use of numbers never happens.  Just that it's not a real thing.

the closest you can get to official is the terminology in a tweet.

Dude just stop. Even coach Siri uses numbers.

https://www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/whos-going-to-be-eagles-3rd-receiver-nick-siriannis-answer-might-surprise-you/604093/

"When you have a receiving corps, you're looking for different skill sets so you can run different styles of plays, get the guys the ball different ways,” Sirianni said. "As far as the No. 3 receiver, I mean, it can be a lot of different things, but you need different types of skill sets, and I'm really excited about the skill sets we have at the No. 3 receiver.

Talking about DeVonta Smith a couple years ago:

https://www.nj.com/eagles/2022/01/examining-howie-roseman-and-nick-siriannis-comments-on-eagles-wide-receivers-5-takeaways-on-devonta-smith-jalen-reagor-more.html

Quote

"I feel really good about the wide receiver group as a whole. I think you have a number one guy in DeVonta Smith. I think he is a number one receiver, and he continues to get better. Why do I think he’s a number one receiver? Because he can consistently win one-on-one, he can get the ball into his hands and make plays with the ball in his hand, maybe run a short pass. He catches everything. His competitive nature.

"I don’t think that there are a lot of true No. 1 receivers in the NFL, and I think we have one that is going to continue to get better.”

In that same link/interview, he called Reagor the 3rd WR

Quote

"Jalen Reagor, we want more production from Jalen Reagor and he has all the talent to do so. So, I like him in that No. 3 spot right now to be able to make plays because he has skill, he has talent. It’s our job as coaches to get that skill and that talent out of him so it produces on the field. And it’s our job as coaches to put him in position to succeed.”

Last year, talking about Gainwell as RB2

https://theeagleswire.usatoday.com/2023/11/01/eagles-news-nick-sirianni-kenneth-gainwell-running-back-depth-chart/

Quote

"There’s things that you don’t see when we’re in practice, and obviously he’s our RB2 because he’s the 2nd best running back on our team Sirianni said. That’s based on games, that’s based on past games, that’s based on practice, that’s based on the whole body of work. I didn’t get this question when he ran over 2 guys in the Miami game to get into the end zone last week, or when he played great in the playoffs last season.”

I know they’re imposing fines for doing that, but I’d take my chances with their clown court trying to come after me for it.

Those sites make it frustrating with all the pop-ups and ads to close before you can get to it, lags and glitches. I'd rather have a banner of ads to the side or bottom the entire time than deal with the pop-ups.

Back in the day I had to use Broadcast.com using dial up.

Packers 30

It's on local television, y'know.

Not in the South Central. Fortunately, for me, I have Peacock. I am trying to decide if I watch in English or Portuguese, because in addition to the usual Spanish offering, we get a Portuguese option this time.  If it was Joe Buck and Aikman I would probably prefer the Portuguese option.

Between the safety concerns, fans not being allowed to wear green, and the X thing, they should cancel the game there and play it in Philly as they should have initially. I mean who was the rocket scientist that sent two teams with green colors to a stadium where you can't wear green for safety concerns and though it was a good idea?

I used VIP in prior years but this preseason after all the popups etc. all I got was a spinning wheel.  I did find that one way to defeat the pops is to right click on the various links and choose "Open in a new window”

Can you believe these Eagles fans?

Do people honestly think they can regulate hate? I hate slow drivers. Try to keep me from spreading that hate. "Falsehoods" are mostly just opinions. Not everybody believes the same thing. People claim Dean is "injury prone" or "can't stay healthy" even though last season was the only time as a football player he missed practice or games with injuries. People claim Watkins "dropped that pass in the Super Bowl" yet that was statistically a PD and a PD is never a receiver "drop." In reality it was an uncalled DPI, but since it wasn't called, it is statistically a PD, but no presentation of this fact is going to stop Watkins haters from believing that was a drop.

As far as libel and threats, there are already laws in place. It is my opinion we don't need more regulations on the matter.

The historian in me would point to efforts throughout our country’s history to regulate speech.  The Sedition Act of 1798 surely suggests there was some intent to limit speech and press by the founding fathers, although Jefferson on his election to the presidency pardoned those convicted. We had anti sedition laws and edicts during the Civil War.  Then there were the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1918.  During WW2, we had the censorship office.

We also have had a pretty long history of self censorship to avoid government censorship such as the Hays Code which morphed into the current to this day movie rating system in 1966. This was preemptive to the movement in the late 1960s concerning regulating obscenity resulting in the Presidents Commission on Obscenity and Pornography.  (Nixon rejected the report as not restrictive enough.)

Regulate Hate.  Since the Civil Rights Act, we as a nation have sought to criminalize hate.  Not only nationally but throughout the states.  The application of who could be protected has morphed through the years but at this point, slow drivers are not yet a protected class, kind of.  I would be remiss in mentioning that road rage is a chargeable offense.

Remember George Carlin’s seven words you can’t say on TV?  He was arrested for that bit. I keep waiting for my arrest because when I encounter slow drivers I tend to use all seven of those words in describing how I feel about the driver, who is inevitably in front of me.

Feels like harmless fun

Franklin is terrible

Beck and Klubnik are both meh prospects.

Gonna be a terrible QB class outside of Sanders.

Good sign that he didn't choose 87

Penn State just got completely screwed on a 4th down call that reeks of "the fix is in"

Understandable though, when you're going up against a coach like Franklin you need to fix some things otherwise it's too much of a mismatch.

Pushing your luck in a foreign country like Brazil is asking for trouble.

Did you just call Franklin a good coach?

For what it's worth, when the Clutters were murdered (In Cold Blood...read it!), one of the surviving sisters who was away at school was going to get married soon. When the entire extended family came to the massive funeral service, they decided that they may as well have the wedding right then since everyone was already there.

Interesting. BTW, Truman Capote’s assistant when he was working on that book was Harper Lee.

I'm anything but a PSU fan, but Drew Allar is putting on a clinic.
