Nick’s decision making is clearly having a negative impact on Jake’s kicking. You can’t have him on ice all game and then trot him out there for 55+ yarders in crucial situations. He’s 0-3 on FGs over 50 yards and I think the main reason for that is that he’s not getting enough reps.

Eagles open as 6.5 pt road favorites vs Dallas. That suggests Vegas doesn't think Dakota is playing. There's no way they'd be 6.5 point road favorites otherwise.

Or both him and Lamb sitting out

Today was a weird game.  There's a few things to nit pick, but they were more or less "fine."  It wasn't truly an ugly win, just a weird one.

I am only taking one critique out of this week:

Saquan Barkley is a special player.  He might be one of, if not the best pure weapons in the league.  But he's still a running back.  That's why he was available.  That's why we didn't totally break the bank to get him.  He had 30 touches today.  I realize if you cut down on that, the Eagles may not have won.

BUT...if you continue to use Barkley at this rate...in January, he's not going to be a special player, if he's even available at all.  If you restrain the utilization of the best weapon on the team, the masses will go to NovaCare with pitchforks.  But we are going to waste a generational RB and possibly the best weapon in the NFL in pushing for 12 wins instead of 10.

A 100% Barkley in January gives you a puncher's chance to truly control a game against a superior team like the Lions or Chiefs in the playoffs.  If you overuse him now, you turn him into a merely very good RB when it matters most.

He’s also got 6 rushing tds.. this makes it look like he’s thrown for 12 with no ints

A tuddy is a tuddy…much can be made of the vultured pushes against NY, but I won’t complain about points on the board.
whatever he’s done the past 2 weeks we need to see more of. In his own words, we can flush the other 2 games and not include them when looking at ‘during this period but without any context’

As an old white dude that pretends to be young….also yes.

Not kicking the FG in that situation was a mistake.  But he compounded the mistake with the IDIOTIC playcall of a rollout pass when they had half a yard (or less) to go.  They definitely should have run the Brotherly Shove in that situation if they don't kick the FG.  The two times it failed was one yard out and it missed by inches both times.

Brotherly Shove is still basically a lock for a half yard barring a fumbled snap.  But even then to pass the ball instead of a run option off the BS look is yet ANOTHER stupid mistake.  Just total idiocy on that play several times over.

Yeah it was a mistake.  I was OK with it at the time… So here’s my formal apology to those that thought differently.  Sometimes the way the game goes gives you a different feel, and at that time, I felt OK with it.  But yeah, in hindsight, it looks like it was not the best decision.

it does make one think about the difficulty of being the head coach… Sometimes it is damned if you do, damned if you don’t.  I get the aggressiveness…I relish it at times.  But it can come back to bite you.

On the other hand, if we had a coach that had his balls stuck firmly between his legs, and never took a chance, I have a feeling that we would be complaining about that too.

If AJ Brown doesn't play next week, he will have appeared in exactly 4.5 of his last 10 possible games.

At least tonight Dotson participated.

That one’s a turd. Can’t look at it. Just gotta flush it.

Jalen’s deep ball is elite. It helps having DeVonta and AJ on the other side of it, but almost every one is perfectly placed. It’s the best throw in his arsenal.

I don’t think they need AJ Brown next week.  Well, depending on the play-calling anyway. I honestly feel like if they gave the ball to Saquon on every play, they would win by two scores.

If anyone wanted to make some money, just put together a Hurts affirmation day calendar

Sample size.

3 distinct injuries, 10 eligible games, 5.5 games missed.

Nothing in football has a good sample size.  Not enough games or reps.  But that's not a good trend.

Also, I think we can scratch the Ainias Smith plays from the offense.

I’ll take the man that knows everything about all 1000 kicks. Or maybe the one that can get through 1 progression.

Elliot should kick both him and Siri in the nuts.

Another silent game from Quinyon, and that’s the best possible thing you can say about him. 1 catch for 11 yards. Teams aren’t even throwing his way anymore.

I think that’s going to be his role here (and that’s a home run if so).  An eraser cb that never shows up in the highlight reel or box score…but keeps his assignment out of them too.

DeJean will probably be the one that stuffs the highlight reel and box score…but Mitchell is the one you’ll want covering the all pro WR.
