Saw a dude getting off the subway after the game with a very nice Quinyon Mitchell jersey...with the number 30. He must have been PISSED when Mitchell switched to 27.

Refs played a part. Some awful calls that would make someone believe they were betting on the game

And yet... if Nick wasn't a hyped up aggressive moron... 9 more points on the board removes all the anxiety about the game.

I really do not mean this as a Hurts criticism....but I do think they/he made his job easier after the bye.  I think they incorporate more designed runs with both Barkley and Hurts, condensed his reads and decision-making.

While I am still somewhat frustrated this was necessary for a $250m qb, there can be no doubt that his net QB production has been outstanding for the last 2 weeks.  Hurts is running in the way he did in 2021...the overall volume and efficacy of the ground game through Barkley/Hurts is generating opportunities in the passing game.  With the quality of the top 2 WRs and teams loading boxes to deal with the run (and Hurts' excellent accuracy on deep balls), it hasn't really been necessary to make a ton of decisions or target 3rd reads in this offense.

That's fine...Hurts isn't the first QB to have a coach digest a lot of the offense for them (we see it with great success in LA and SF).

But what IS interesting...if the success continues...Moore will get his HC offers in the offseason.  And if Moore found a way to unlock Hurts and run this offense in a fashion reminiscent of 2022...how do you let him leave?  It's going to be a problem.

What the heck do you think Reid does for Mahomes? Think he'd be nearly as successful anywhere else? And look at him struggling this season with lesser talent around him.

QBs rarely get to third reads, either it's a quick hitting play in which case he doesn't have time, or it's a slow developing play where he has to wait to see if his primary target comes open (like a crossing route when you have to wait for the WR to clear traffic). When Hurts dumps it off, it's often when he's had time to go through his options and no one is open.

The real problem has been Fred Johnson at OT, subpar in 3 of 4 games. Hurts is doing a better job of staying in the pocket, but you have to have a pocket to stay in.

They're playing without 3 pro bowl players in Mailata, Goedert and Brown.

Yesterday, with a lead and half your weapons on the sideline, Moore was conservative for most of the second half.

I think it'll look differently with everyone healthy come December.

I think if you are in the playoffs, and AJ really feels pretty good he might have a chance to play without missing a game. But typically even a grade 1 sprain is going to be a 2 week injury.

He should miss this week of practice, miss the Dallas game, and miss most of next week. Maybe test it out a little bit on Thursday and see if he can play against the Commanders. Thats basically 2 weeks, but only missing 1 game.

Most likely scenario imo. If it is a grade 1.

Oh I won't argue that. I was just adding that refs Fed us over as well

Though it kind of hurts on a fandom level when it's your own HC that's screwing you over

I dont get it because he has really been generating a lot of pressure once they figured out the 4 point stance thing. And yesterday on his first snap of the game, he got another Mamula. Hes not been so bad that he needs to be benched.

Agree with this.  His first pass rush yesterday was excellent.  He is a hand in the dirt speed rusher with a very quick get off.  Dropping him in coverage 50% of the time is a complete waste.  No reason he can't get fifteen snaps a game in obvious passing situations.  Obviously you want more than that for $51m but it is what it is so use his one talent.

Yep. They say control what you can control. Can't control the refs, but you can control your game management decisions.

Also I haven't paid attention, but the Steelers are 6-2 and leading their division over the Ravens? Did not expect that.

Having a top-3 defense will give you a fighting chance against pretty much any team in the league.

I agree. Rest AJ, they have the talent to win. There's a tougher stretch coming, and he's been hurt twice this season already so make it long-term health for playoffs not short-term.

It was an "appease Doug" call. Rodgers was handsy the play before and Doug was right there in the refs ear about it not getting called. The next play Maddox did that and you can see Doug on the sidelines again go right back into the refs ear. It's why the flag was so late after the play.

I believe the reason the flag came in "late” was simply because the official still had to officiate the rest of the play. He knew he had interference and was going to throw the flag, but he didn’t have time to do so because he still had to determine whether the safety was going to make the interception. That’s his call too. And even though it wouldn’t have counted, it’s still his responsibility to call it correctly. Once he saw the ball fall to the ground, he threw the flag.

Frankly I thought it was an obvious call and I think the official handled it correctly. Sucked for us, but at least we survived.

Maybe it was Brian Mitchell? I think he wore 30

Tbh it would be super valuable down the road cause it would be more rare. Like someone is selling his practice jersey (autism green numbers). It’s a rare piece as everything else will be 27. Similar to hurts wearing 2 his rookie year or McCoy 29

Or it’s Brian Mitchell

Depends if it’s Nike there’s no way it’s Brian Mitchell. It would’ve have to be Reebok or puma.

You are correct. One of my favorite Eagles though he only played here for two three years.

I'm not really sure what you mean. Ball clearly hits the ground in front of everyone and there isn't anyone around it. Doug reaches his hand out at and walks toward the ref while the punter has enough time to pick the ball up off the ground before the flag came. Looks like a solid 3 to 4 seconds from the ball hitting the ground to the sideline reacting to the flag getting thrown.

Maybe I'm wrong but Doug definitely didn't like the Rodgers no call the play before and was definitely calling for the flag here before it was thrown.

It really stood out to me yesterday even with Barkley taking himself out of the game repeatedly, that we got the ball to Van Summeren, Calculator, Johnny Wilson, and Ainias Smith, but Shipley couldnt get a touch and I dont think he even got a snap on the field. Makes no sense.

Pretty sure Shipley lined up on offense at least once. Saquon was in on that one too though.

It's Dallas week
