Not a good choice for a simple reason:

I have a feeling he may not stick with 33 for next season. He might because he wore 3 in college and 33 may be the next best thing, but it's never good to buy jerseys in year one because some players change their numbers after the first year. Play it safe, wait til next September to buy.

Already thought about that, and disagree that its not a good choice. Id be thrilled to have his rookie jersey when it becomes a relic that can not be purchased anymore. Its going to be a classic when hes an all pro, philly legend. And it shows you were smart and were on the bus from the get go. Didnt wait till he was a star to buy it.

That was most of the team that decided that from my recollection, led by Malcolm Jenkins and others, lets not start creating an alternate history and bring politics here which has already been warned about.

So Williams, Gainwell, Baun, Becton, Rodgers, and Johnson are all eligible for in-season extensions.

After this season, Jurgens, Dean, Blankenship, and Calcaterra are eligible.

 

IMO, Baun, Jurgens, and Blankenship are no-brainers.  Dean and Calcaterra would be prudent and inexpensive.

Williams and Gainwell don't need to stay.

It gets tricky with Becton, Rodgers, and Johnson, as all have put down good film.  They could very well get better money elsewhere.  Also, not sure if you keep both Becton and Johnson.

good to hear Jalyx Hunt may be rewarded for his development. I cant wait for him to be on the field.
