Goff had 5 freakin picks.  Houston should be ashamed of losing that game.  I think we catch the Lions for the #1 Seed though they still have a favorable schedule.  They also have a lot of division games coming up.

Hmm I’m not sure we catch Detroit. Don’t get me wrong of course we can but we are going to drop games and unfortunately for us Detroit won a game yesterday that they probably should have lost. Can’t see them dropping more than 2 games the rest of the year and I think we will likely drop at least 2.

Detroit isn’t that great.  They could absolutely drop a couple unexpected games.  But they have a joke of a schedule…if they just play ok but consistent, they could realistically run the table.

Dropping the bye for the 2 seed  and adding a wild card, IMO, was a terrible move for the playoff format.  Really devalued the regular season.

It’s more their schedule that I’m going on to be honest. Their trickiest games are against the Bills and 49ers. I know they face GB which won’t be a breeze for them but yeah it’s pretty easy. We need them to drop 2 and only lose 1 ourselves and even then it would come down to conference record… and right now they have 1 NFC loss to our 2. That Atlanta game really could bite us!

But, they don't care about that.   They care about only one thing.

If it makes more money, then they will do it.  Just like playing football in soccer stadiums abroad where the footing is unsure and potentially hazardous for player safety.

Freaking useless Texans. IMO if they lost that game it would have put us in the driver's seat

Eagles: Wash, @LA, @Bal, Car, Pitt, @Wash, Dal, NYG

Lions: Jax, @Indy, Chi, GB, Buff, @Chi, @SF, Minn.

Commanders: @Philly, Dal, Tenn, @NO, Philly, Atl, @Dal

All three only have three road games left.  I think Detroit's schedule is slightly the most difficult, followed by ours and then the cupcake Washington schedule.

Not sure why Jared Verse should be the odds favorite for DROTY over Mitchell.

A shut down CB roughly translates (purely subjectively) to something well over 10 sacks from an edge.  A merely good cb, sure maybe 8.

Verse is on pace for like 8 sacks.  I don’t think that measures up to what Mitchell is doing in coverage.

Verse is either third in pressures or pressure rate. He’s been pretty awesome. No shame in Mitchell being the second best defensive rookie.

That CB Arnold that DET drafted right after us stinks.

Both our DB picks are better than him.

Brad Holmes was sooooo cocky after drafting Arnold and Rickshaw, bragging about how they were the two best corners in the draft. Would love for Mitchell/DeJean to keep balling out while Arnold commits 2-3 penalties a game.

FWIW, I thought that Brown, Smith, and Goedert all looked to be off their game today. It's pretty cool that we stomped our most hated rivals with our top three receivers all at about 85%.

I didn’t see much with Smith or DG, but there was a couple plays that AJ seemed to be struggling or in pain while he was getting up.  Hopefully it’s just overall normal in game soreness, but i wouldn’t be surprised to see a shoulder issue pop up on the injury report soon.

Detroit plays 14 of their 17 games in a domed stadium. Granted, they went to GB and beat the Packers in the rain, but that's a serious advantage for a team that's built for the indoors. The Eagles having homefield in the playoffs would be huge for that potential matchup. Losing last night would have gone a long way to helping the Eagles as I don't see them in too many unfavorable matchups the rest of the year.

The Eagles have to win the next two games to have a shot at the no. 1 seed. They could then lose to @Bal and @Wash and have a shot at ending up being tied with the Lions, who have a brutal remaining schedule.

Brown looks hurt to me.  It's a bummer.  Maybe even don't play him Thursday and give him two weeks off to get ready for LA.

I agree, the other thing to consider down the road is Conf W/L.  We need to make up a game on the Lions should it come down to it.

That's also why the next two are important, both NFC games for us while they have AFC.

I think Detroit's run in is pretty tough as it goes, Buffalo and San Fran are tough games, especially if McCaffrey holds up and the 49ers are chasing a seeding, Minnesota depends which Sam Darnold turns up but they're no pushovers this year either and for a dome team playing at Soldier Field in late December is no picnic,

Nah.  He just doesn't like landing hard on artificial surfaces.

Thursday is too important.  He'll have 10 days to recover afterwards.

Serious question.  The eagles are going to the playoffs.  0% chance of missing.

Their chances of getting the first round bye aren’t great.

Isn’t staying healthy more important than winning any individual game left on the schedule?

What an anticlimactic, boring way to go through the second half of the year.  Really…how many big games do we have after TNF vs WAS?

(This isn’t a complaint about the Eagles, rather the competitive landscape the nfl has created with the 17 game regular season and playoff format).

Playing at home is important.  Weather in January matters.  So does travel.

Staying healthy is important.  But not at the expense of dropping to a 5/6/7 seed and playing three playoff games on the road in order to get to the SB.

I watched most of the Washington game yesterday.  The Steelers got after Daniels and he looked bad.  He missed 2-3 huge throws to wide open receivers.  If Fangio plays soft coverage I will absolutely lose my mind.

We should be able to run all over the Commanders. Again, there's a totally obvious game plan laid before the coaches.  I wonder how long it will take before they are forced to take the easy route.

I think the Ravens and Steelers games are our biggest games after both Washington games.  Carolina, Boys and GMen will try to play spoiler.   The Rams game is interesting because they are playing better.   Yes its kind of a down year around the league. 7 NFC has over 5 or more losses.  The AFC has 10 teams with 5 or more losses.   A lot of teams are basically out of it with like 8 weeks to go.  It very top heavy.   The Eagles regardless of last years fall off are still one of the top teams in the NFC the last 3 seasons.  They were 10-1 with a two game lead over the whole league after beating The Chiefs and Bills coming off a Super Bowl appearance.  Last year was just  strange year.  This is what I expect from them.   This is really a 8-1 team if we're being honest.

There’s still practically half the season to play… how smart would they look if they started resting guys, lose a couple games, then Goff goes down for the season with an injury.

No…guys play if they are healthy enough to play.  Anything else is foolish…

You still play for the most home games possible.  Being #2 is better than #3, because you host that matchup... and if #4 knocks off #1, you then host the CG...

Some random thoughts:

The offense is starting to look more like Moore’s than Nick’s.  Both focus on player strengths but Moore seems more willing to push players to add new things to their strengths.

VanSummeren is going to lay the wood on a LB or DB soon.  He plays lead blocker like a headhunter.

Stoll is underappreciated as a blocker.  He really helps the run game.

The Hurts interception was as much Calcaterra’s fault as it was Hurts’.  Watch Calcaterra not attack the ball and basically let Diggs gain position.  Then watch  Goedert’s TD.  Notice how he presents as a target v how Calcaterra did.

Josh Sweat is the unsung leader of the OLBs.  Hunt got more snaps than Huff.

A good case scenario is clinching the #2 seed and resting everyone in week 18.
