Nah.  He just doesn't like landing hard on artificial surfaces.

Thursday is too important.  He'll have 10 days to recover afterwards.

Everybody is hurt at this point of the season too.

Some random thoughts:

The offense is starting to look more like Moore’s than Nick’s.  Both focus on player strengths but Moore seems more willing to push players to add new things to their strengths.

VanSummeren is going to lay the wood on a LB or DB soon.  He plays lead blocker like a headhunter.

Stoll is underappreciated as a blocker.  He really helps the run game.

The Hurts interception was as much Calcaterra’s fault as it was Hurts’.  Watch Calcaterra not attack the ball and basically let Diggs gain position.  Then watch  Goedert’s TD.  Notice how he presents as a target v how Calcaterra did.

Josh Sweat is the unsung leader of the OLBs.  Hunt got more snaps than Huff.

The INT was a bit of everything.  Soft top of the route, amazing play by the DB, QB staring the target down and hesitating.  That’s going to happen sometimes.

Hunt and Huff is interesting.  Hunt had that nice tip at the line…Huff IIRC was the primary pressure that led to the fumble that DeJawn recovered.

The team is coming together, i just hope we see a lot more Moore.  Snaps under center, PA, some attacking with the short passing game.  Also as much as people hate on Gainwell, we need more of him and Shipley to keep Saquon fresh.

I still think they are completely underutilizing DeVonta Smith and his route running abilities. There has to be a way to get him more involved. He's too damn good target 3 times. I know, there's only 1 ball, Hurts was under pressure etc., but they need to do better with him.

It was Goedert on that route.  Calcaterra was very open in the corner of the end zone.

Tip of the cap to Diggs here.  Hurts i think made the right read based off the match up, Diggs just floated in while Hurts stared it down.  This will be a good one for the film study.

Serious question.  The eagles are going to the playoffs.  0% chance of missing.

Their chances of getting the first round bye aren’t great.

Isn’t staying healthy more important than winning any individual game left on the schedule?

What an anticlimactic, boring way to go through the second half of the year.  Really…how many big games do we have after TNF vs WAS?

(This isn’t a complaint about the Eagles, rather the competitive landscape the nfl has created with the 17 game regular season and playoff format).

Baltimore. Similar approach on offense and the top two running backs.  Game I am looking forward to.  Eagles need to do the fans in the south central a solid and beat the Ravens.  Bragging rights at stake.

Yeah more Dotson on the outside and Smitty in the slot please

Criticizing Hurts when he’s been easily a top 5-10 NFL QB this season - even top 5 over the last 5 games isn’t the best look bud.  Looks like you’re grasping at straws.

His competition %, QB rating and QBR are all lights out this season.  Then add the rushing stats - he’s arguably been a top 5 NFL QB.

He was sacked 5 times yesterday.  He had 2 costly turnovers.  It wasn't his best game. If the Cowboys had someone other than Ginger Danny Dimes leading them, it would have been a much closer contest.  He had some great plays.  He needs to improve on his mistakes and that includes getting rid of the ball sooner when facing pressure, having better pocket presence and protecting the football.  He deserves criticism for some of his play.  We shouldn't ignore his great plays like his TD passes to Wilson and Goedert. It's not all or nothing.  He needs to play better and continue to make great plays in order for the team to be a contender.

He needed to put more on that throw to Goedert.  If he does, it gets to Goedert before Diggs can make a play.

One of the frustrating parts of the passing game is it seems to focus on downfield throws vs. efficiency.  It probably plays more to Hurts' strengths but I would like to see a game where they are working Smith underneath to get YAC.

When the All-22 comes up I’ll look and get back to you. It will, of course, be my opinion and not a fact.

Smith and Brown played very little in the slot this past week. Wonder if that was due to the game plan, but your going to have weeks where someone doesn't get the ball enough. Its hard to spread it out when you have AJ, Smitty, Barkley, and Goedert all threats in the passing game.

Jayden is starting to cool off (last 3 games of Pitt, Chicago, Giants). Hopefully we start getting more 2nd half Kliff...

This is how Hurts can play his best. He has a nice deep ball, and when they can run the ball at will you see defenses start to have a single high safety. This team is going to live and die by the big play, but they also have the unique ability to hit big plays on the ground regularly.

I will always love a Cowboys blowout no matter the circumstance but I can't even enjoy this because now our focus has to shift to Washington so quickly.  They are coming off a tough loss to the Steelers. Their 3rd loss of the season.   Normally when Washington goes to the playoffs, they have 9 wins.  Well they are only 2 from that number.   Washington has only had 3 double digit wins seasons since 1999.

The other 22 seasons they finished with less than 10 wins.   Jayden Daniels is just playing amazing for a rookie and the team does look much better than the last few years. They defense has been giving up some points though.  We know what Washington can do as they surprised us in 2022, but we swept them last year.   This year the stakes couldn't be higher.   So props to Washington because normally the Eagles V Dallas game is for the division.  Now both of these Washington games will mean a lot  since this is basically a two team race now.

Smith ran a great route that ended up in a 5-yard defensive holding penalty.  Nothing in the box score for him.

The "they" in "they are under utilizing" is ambiguous.  How many of the plays that were designed for Smith ended up in sacks or nullified by pressure?  Or did Hurts turn down or misread?

I seriously doubt the coaches are choosing to not get Smith the ball.

But how much does it really matter if we win?

Measuring stick?  Bragging rights?  2 really good teams head to head?  Sure.  But does it even matter in the standings?

I alluded to everything you mentioned. Both can be true. They force fed Covey when he was healthy. They are clearly trying to get Anias Smith the ball on quick hitters and end around type of plays. If they wanted to, they could easily design plays where DeVonta is the clear #1 option and utilize what he does best at the same time.

1st play of 4th qtr- Hurts throws a beautiful ball to back of end zone- Brown has a step on defender- he slows down and doesn't accelerate to the ball.  I thought it was a TD for sure- Hurts did too.  I think Brown was worried he'd really pull his hammy if he went for it.

Personally,  rest him until the Rams game.

It could mean a lot.  Both for the division and playoff seating.

Must See Games rest of the season:

Vs Washington (TNF)

@ Rams (SNF)

@ Ravens

Vs Steelers

@ Washington

Games that just need to win period

Vs Carolina

Vs The Boys

Vs GMen

That's crazy how all of our road games were stacked at the beginning of the season.  Their on the Eastcoast the rest of the way outside of the one LA trip in two weeks.

They do.

Vs Bengals

Smith: 7 targets

Brown: 6 targets

Vs Jags:

Smith: 6 targets

Brown: 4 targets

Vs cowboys:

Smith: 3 targets

Brown: 7 targets

While he's only gotten a couple targets, Dotson has showed potential the last few games. I'd like them to go to him more.
