While he's only gotten a couple targets, Dotson has showed potential the last few games. I'd like them to go to him more.

He is earning Jalen's trust by taking advantage of his opportunities. The offense is growing.

Jayden is starting to cool off (last 3 games of Pitt, Chicago, Giants). Hopefully we start getting more 2nd half Kliff...

Yep.  And defenses eventually will adjust to Daniel’s style of play, seek out weaknesses etc - the more film that is out on him, the better defenses can prepare

Serious question.  The eagles are going to the playoffs.  0% chance of missing.

Their chances of getting the first round bye aren’t great.

Isn’t staying healthy more important than winning any individual game left on the schedule?

What an anticlimactic, boring way to go through the second half of the year.  Really…how many big games do we have after TNF vs WAS?

(This isn’t a complaint about the Eagles, rather the competitive landscape the nfl has created with the 17 game regular season and playoff format).

I believe you have to keep playing for that #1 seed. You can't just presume Detroit is unbeatable. The texans may not have finished the game strong, but they exposed detroit's offense. Goff needs to be protected from having to come from behind and make throws. He's very good with a lead, but he's trash in must pass situations. Regardless, you never know what injuries may change landscapes around the NFL and you can't afford to throw away winnable games like they don't matter. If you simply get beat, you have to deal with it, but you don't just throw games away on purpose.

This is pure DT porn. Violence all-around. Still needs work on keeping his feet and finishing but man, this kind of DT play is what I love.

It was Goedert on that route.  Calcaterra was very open in the corner of the end zone.

Goedert plays above the rim, best thing Hurts could have done there was throw it high. Out of the endzone or a Dwight Clark catch.

but it was a great play by Diggs

Sun was bothering everyone yesterday at some point

This is how Hurts can play his best. He has a nice deep ball, and when they can run the ball at will you see defenses start to have a single high safety. This team is going to live and die by the big play, but they also have the unique ability to hit big plays on the ground regularly.

I do think they could throw more slants and shallow crossing routes.  It may be a function of not seeing much man coverage but it would be nic see them develop a counter punch to stacked boxes beyond deep throws.

Whats funny is that they actually have curtains and they close them for concerts.

I think Kempski pointed out that the cost to put up curtains would be in the 10's of thousands of dollars.

I generally agree, but think there was something game plan specific Moore liked better on the outside. The cowboys defense was crowding the middle to try to slow Barkely, both AJ and Smith played near their lowest snaps in the slot this past week. Maybe that's with Goedert being back and wanting to get him involved more, but Smith played half the number of slot snaps he usually takes.

Pretty sure you can find them cheaper at Ollies.

They 100% have curtains

Its fantastic seeing JJ not only get roasted for his horrible job as a GM but also for the stupid design of his stadium

That requires the qb to read man vs zone quickly

When the All-22 comes up I’ll look and get back to you. It will, of course, be my opinion and not a fact.

Still far more valuable than most. Thx

Processing speed is an issue but I don't think he's getting confused by coverages.  When his first read gets shut down, he doesn't have a great plan to make the next throw.  He more often than not makes the initial read correctly.  My point was more about those being throws he can make consistently.

Things are looking pretty good eh?

Only when they are wide open. I dont think he os accurate enough for small windows and he knows it. Thats why he holds the ball

I don't get the hype for Deion Sanders as a coach.  Has he done a good job this year? Yeah.  They play in the Big-12 which is probably the 4th or 5th best conference.  They've played 1 top 25 team and lost to Kansas St.

Yet they (ESPN) talks about him like he's Lombardi.  Saying he's coach of the year.  The HC of Indiana is more deserving among others.

Could they make the CFP? Sure but how are they going to fare against Oregon, Ohio St, etc.  I don't even think they'd beat teams like Ole Miss, Bama, ND, etc.

Well, another blowout on the road. Always nice when you can rest everyone for the 4th quarter with a Thursday game on tap (did the same in 2022, IIRC).

OFFENSE

- I'll call it a solid B/B+ game from Hurts. It started out a potential D game and then he found his groove on the drive right before halftime. The pick in the end zone -- that was just a hell of a play by Diggs mainly. Hurts could have throw it further in front of Goedert, or gone to Calcaterra. But Jalen was never going to go the whole rest of the season without a pick, and it wasn't a bad read or terrible throw. Good read, mediocre throw, great play by Diggs. The 5 sacks and the fumble in the 1st half were concerning - it's almost like we were caught by surprise that they were blitzing so much. But the good news? No sacks after halftime, efficient and clean football with big plays down the field. Both TD throws were great plays to avoid pressure and keep his eyes down the field. And he was killer with his legs again.

- I was shocked that we ran for 187 yards in the game, as it felt like our running game was bottled up a lot of the day. Barkley was solid at 4.7 YPC, and Jalen added a lot on the ground as well. Still, for a day when I felt like we struggled to get the ground game going, it's nice to see them stick with it and put up those results.

- AJ Brown is just really good at football. 6-0 when he plays.

- Sucks Smith got held on that deep shot or it was a walk in TD. Hurts underthrew him on another deep shot. Dallas was clearly stacking the box and daring Hurts to beat them over the top. 10.1 YPA...Hurts did it.

- Jahan Dotson sighting 2 games in a row?

- I like Fred Johnson, and he has filled in admirably, but I really want to see what we look like with Mailata back.

DEFENSE

- OK, so it was Cooper Rush, but it's not like Rush hasn't won games in this league. 3 of the last 5 games the defense hasn't given up a TD. 4 TDs surrendered in 5 games. And they are still young and improving.

- The stats may not show it, but felt like Jalen Carter had another great game. The guy is simply wrecking the game for the opposing offense.

- We are finally accepting what Huff is, not what we signed him to be. Just get him on the field in 3rd and long and let him rush the passer. When he doesn't have to think about anything else, he can be very effective.

- I mean...is Baun an all-pro? Of everything he and Dean are doing well, the best is they are tackling so well. It's night and day from before the bye. They seem to get better every week. Please just extend Baun already.

- In the spirit of the post above...is Q an all-pro? Guy really is super sticky in coverage, physical, and makes plays on the ball. He's not going to be DROY or all-pro due to the lack of picks, but he already feels like a top 10 CB.

- CJGJ just picking on Trey Lance to get his stats...I support it.

- Another solid game from DeJean, who is another fantastic tackler.

- Howie Roseman, take a bow. Q, Coop, and Baun are all amazing additions to a defense that was a dumpster fire at the end of last year. Dean finally realizing his potential, Carter getting better, even Nolan Smith playing better. This entire defense was rebuilt and is now a top 10 unit while being young and cheap.

I don’t watch enough of other corners to analyze this, but could Quinyon Mitchell be the best corner in the league right now?  His target rate, success, and consistent blanketing game after game seems hard to top right now.  I know that may sound like a ridiculous question, but if it is, help me understand how any other corner could possibly be better this season.

1st play of 4th qtr- Hurts throws a beautiful ball to back of end zone- Brown has a step on defender- he slows down and doesn't accelerate to the ball.  I thought it was a TD for sure- Hurts did too.  I think Brown was worried he'd really pull his hammy if he went for it

Personally,  rest him until the Rams game.

This is actually pretty typical it seems…on deep balls they seem to hesitate a bit because a lot are underthrown and they’re adjusting.  That throw, i know exactly which one, looked perfect with the stride.

I would add that Jalyx Hunt had a decent debut during non-garbage time. A tipped pass and a tackle in 25 percent of defensive snaps is definitely not bad. If he can turn into a decent depth player this year, this draft only gets better.

I think the Ravens and Steelers games are our biggest games after both Washington games.  Carolina, Boys and GMen will try to play spoiler.   The Rams game is interesting because they are playing better.   Yes its kind of a down year around the league. 7 NFC has over 5 or more losses.  The AFC has 10 teams with 5 or more losses.   A lot of teams are basically out of it with like 8 weeks to go.  It very top heavy.   The Eagles regardless of last years fall off are still one of the top teams in the NFC the last 3 seasons.  They were 10-1 with a two game lead over the whole league after beating The Chiefs and Bills coming off a Super Bowl appearance.  Last year was just  strange year.  This is what I expect from them.   This is really a 8-1 team if we're being honest.

Seemingly. At the moment. But I feel pretty confident that some current four win team is going to be going into the last couple weeks of the season well positioned for the playoffs. A team like the Bengals, Bucs, or maybe the Colts.
