I can attest to TBI recovery.

Late in 2022, during an MRI looking for something else, it was discovered that I had a central neurocytoma. Basically, a noncancerous mass that was slowly growing in the middle of my brain. I had surgery in late May of last year to have it removed. They expected a reasonably quick recovery, but I would have problems talking and walking. I had no issues talking or walking, but the recovery has been so much longer than expected.

There is so much that I do not remember now. I do not remember being in the hospital for two weeks; I don't remember the summer or the fall. I am thankful that my wife took a lot of pictures, even though I see them and wonder when the hell I was actually there. I don't remember the second time I was in the hospital because they were concerned about seizures. They took my license away for six months because of it. I was an avid reader but couldn't read anymore because I couldn't remember what I read. I would go back to where I left off and would have to reread everything. It was horrible, and I hated it so much. My personality completely changed. I would barely talk. I would just be there.

It took more than a year of therapy, memory games, changing my habits, and learning to write everything down to help me get to where I am today. I still have to go to therapy every week, but I keep getting better, and I can see it in my everyday routines. They even said it may take up to 2 years or more before I get back to my normal self.

The brain is a wonderful and resilient organ. As long as you continue to work at it, have a supporting cast, read, and attempt memory tests and games, it will come back. Slowly but surely it will.

Glad to hear that you are doing so well.  The approach to those tumors goes through some memory tracts, so it’s not surprising that you had to use some cues and tricks to make it back.  They are tricky surgeries, but some of the most rewarding.

Sometimes we see a patient in the office who does "great” after those surgeries and is "neurologically intact” (no major immediately apparent deficits) and lose sight of the battle it takes to become the same person and mind again.

Thank you.

I can't say it has been easy. Even though everything seems the same about me, I am different from the experience—different in a good way. I have slowed down a lot and have tried to enjoy life more.

Of course, this tumor had to be a super rare one that is found in less than 1% of tumors. I am just lucky that I had the right doctors, and they knew exactly what to do to take care of it. I am also fortunate that it was found while I was still young enough to recover. This was located directly in the middle of my brain attached to the side, sitting in the cerebrospinal fluid. They had to dig all the way through to get to it.

They said that it could have caused more severe problems than the ones that I was having if it had stayed in there.

I turn 50 next year. I am so grateful that it was found and taken care of. That I am alive, here with my kids and for the most part mentally available.

Eagles 2nd in rush offense and DC is 28th in rush defense. This will be a double digit win and isn't a real test.

Until we come out with 10 straight passes which result in 3 sacks and a pick

Unless the Eagles turn it over early and get down 10-0 or 14-0 and have to go pass heavy.

This is a run the ball game. Some other matchups (Ravens, Steelers) should be bombs away.

Interesting move for Mailata I presume. Down to just 2 TE's again on the roster. EJ Jenkins is out of elevations. Stoll has 2 left I believe if he were to re-sign on the PS.

Relax.  We can always trade for Albert O.

Defense should force Daniels to pass the whole game. Joe Burrow wasn't able to keep it together, I doubt Daniels will be able to.

Excited to see Q/DeJean vs McLaurin. McLaurin has always given this team issues and I think the Eagles finally have the physicality and coverage to keep him quiet.

I'm sure Fangio has some exotic looks he will throw at the rookie. They are a good pass blocking team, so I imagine there will be some nickel blitzes coming to get preferable match ups.

No. We need to trade for the OG freakbeast, Tyree Jackson

I’m expecting Daniels to scramble and run often…I’m more interested to see how they defend that part of it.  Good mini test for Lamar coming up soon

I think they will extend him if he finishes the season strong. LBs don't get paid that much and the Eagles seem to have shifted philosophically a bit last offseason to prioritizing the back 7 more. And I think Fangio will advocate for him and Howie won't piss off Daddy Fangio. Then next offseason they try to get that monster edge rusher. This defense with one would be absolutely sick.

This play might seem like an innocuous play, but last night it kind of pissed me off. These types of plays are exactly the same type of plays the Eagles have been trying to force feed to Ainias Smith the last couple games. Jet sweeps, fake hand offs, fake jet sweeps, putting him in motion and faking end arounds with him. And Ainias Smith is soooo slooow. Plays to Ainias never work and defenses don't respect him at all.

Yet the Eagles passed on Malik Washington who was 10 times the player Ainias Smith was in college.

This isn't some huge deal or anything, both players would have a very limited role in this offense, but it was just something that came to mind when watching the game last night. Overall it looks like one of their better draft classes in the Howie era as it currently stands, but I remember watching the draft passing on Washington was that one thing that nagged at me a bit.

I had Malik Washington in a lot of my mocks and was my preferred choice.  Workout numbers are pretty close though.  Washington numbers were much better on field.  I also thought Ainias ran a 4.47 at his pro day.  Was Ainias one of the Red Star players or was that Johnny Wilson?

Probably not but be interested to see what they look like when/if they ever get the big 3 together.  Game was close last night with Biid sucking wind and going 2-11, Lowry 1-5, Oubre 1-6, Yabusele 1-7, and Dowtin Jr. having to play 22 minutes .  McCain is looking good .  I do like Caleb Martin and think he will help.  Just need to trade Oubre and KJ Martin for something good.

Who would be interested in taking them on 'for something good'?

I've heard we're trying to get Cornelius Ingram to come out of retirement, but he's torn about leaving coaching because his Girls High School basketball team has won State the last two years.

Smith was the red star guy. The other ones we drafted in the final day were Shipley, Keegan, and Trotter.

Picks could be enticing with Embiid never healthy.

Your basic key as an LB is to follow the guard. Becton and Lane pulled right to left so the DE and LB followed. On the first play I put up that broke the key because the RB and the ball went away from the guard. On the second, because the OL and QB/ RB action was the same, the DE and LB, remembering the earlier play, stayed home and the QB could have walked in. Neither was a read option although they looked like they were. These were scripted plays.

It is grade A play design and play calling.
