I think he survives. He's only in year 2 and has a 13-14 record, mainly with backups and a raw inexperienced QB.

I guess it depends on who actually benched Richardson. I think if that was Shanes call and isray forced Shane to go back to Richardson i think he will be fired.

Irsay probably just came off a bender and forgot he benched Richardson when he was elbow deep in hookers and blow.

I think they expected more from a QB with 189 starts than to take a bad sack on a 4th down because he didn't want to risk a bad pass and get an INT on his stat sheet. There is no excuse for taking a 10 yard loss on 4th down when you had time to make a contested throw. Terrible football. Put the young guy back out there and find out if he's worth anything going forward or if the position needs to continue to be addressed in the draft.

I get that and understand why you would make the change but, again a week ago they said it was Flaccos team going forward.... Now after one bad gane they go back to Richardson. It was stupid to bench Richardson and make the claim he is no longer the starter just to go back a week later. So again who decided after one week to go back to Richardson after saying that? Its not a good situation IMO for Shane.

I can't really tell you. But riding Flacco at this point isn't going to help in the future and this doesn't look like the colts' year. Maybe they just wanted to light a fire under Richardson, but benching him for the entire 2024 season would be completely giving up on him.

Agreed, i think the benching was warranted but, to say he is on the bench the rest of the year was just a bad look and probably did no favors to his confidence. They are already Fing him up. They knew he was raw and would take time. They threw him in the fire now deal with it .

In addition the slow progress of Johnny Wilson is probably a factor.  He is 6/6 237 and Stoll is 6/4 247.

And in the arena of blocking, given the evolution/growth of Fred Johnson and Tyler Steen, who would you rather have as an extra inline blocker ... Stoll or one of those two?  Both Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata have the chops to "report as eligible" and be a credible threat to be a target.

If Richardson shows no improvement over the rest of the season, I think Irsay may think about getting rid of him.   That being said, the Colts have been in most games.  They are competitive and well coached.  It's just that Irsay is a coke addict and bad owner.
