I said the defense was legit and also read it in context of what I was responding to and the post they quoted.

Yup. He and dejean aren’t playing like rookies. It’s a massive difference out there. I loved Mitchell coming out and wanted him but i didn’t expect him or DeJean to be this good this soon. I said this in another post, i totally see Howie trying to acquire a big time pass rusher to go with this defense next offseason. As nice as the pass rush has been since the bye i think howie will look for that guy. If he can acquire it then the defense could be even more ridiculous.

Time to dip into the Penn State well one more time.

He reminds me of Gilmore in his prime, couldn't garner an interception to save his life, but his man couldn't garner a catch either.

Give him a season or two. This is his track record. He shuts down everyone from day one, then becomes a ballhawk a year or two later.

I’m rewatching part of the game since I can’t sleep. Calcaterra’s recovery of Goedert’s fumble prevented what could have been a major momentum shift for the Commanders. A great heads-up play.

Also, after double-checking the spelling of Calcaterra's name via a quick Google search, I realized I had no idea what the hell he actually looked like and was shocked when I saw this:

You found his mug shot clearly…

Generational RBs scare me.  Barkley scares me.  His greatness feels transient.  I don’t know if it’ll be there in January or in 2025.  And our offense is now built upon Barkley’s greatness.

The team would likely be 2-8 without him right now.   Gotta enjoy it while it lasts and hope he finishes the season just as strong.

He's got 10 days to recover before the next one.

You ride him to the end this year with no regrets.

You draft his backup/future replacement this coming draft.

This time is not different. He’s 28 this February. He has a TON of mileage on his tires. We have an out on his contract after 2025. If not he’s a free agent in 2026.

Get a high quality replacement this offseason and become the most dominant run offense in the NFL for the next couple seasons.

Big win last night. I really was expecting a loss after that first half. The offense was sputtering and our kicker was being a leftist with his kicks.
Thought our defense was not going to hold up (still expecting bad things after 1 1/2 seasons of bad play), but they are starting to sell me more and more that they’re for real. They were the main reason we won because they kept us in the game until the offense finally came alive.

Two huge plays that made it possible were the stop on 4th down (actually the stops on 2nd and 3rd down also go into that equation) and the fumble recovery by Calcaterra. Way to hustle!

Feels good to be in this position and with the defense coming together, we might have a realistic shot of going on a playoff run.

I mean, I get it to some extent. They weren’t contenders and Barkley wouldn’t move the needle for them.

On the other hand, I believe culture matters a lot. And this kid seems like a foundational piece even if you’re trying to do a turnaround.

The Giants were smart to draft him, and stupid with everything they did after that.

You seem surprised at exactly how good he is and how good a dude he is.  Shame.  He's always been that guy.  You just missed it.

Nope, your just a miserable **** who wants everyone else to be miserable and too big of a snow flake to handle it when people see through and call you out for your BS.

Nah I want you to be as happy as possible with your life that would make me miserable.  Like I said, it’s all good!

Great comp.  That’s what an elite CB1 should be.  Not getting INTs unless you’re getting tested, not getting tested unless you’re giving something up.

He’ll get that first one sooner or later, but he’s probably not going to have the chance to stack them.

It’s going to be weird to root for the fricking Cowboys a couple of times the rest of the season. I can’t think of a team I despise more..

If you think about it, they've been winning literally all season.  The only "Bad" performance was Tampa where AJ was missing and it was unusually humid after a hurricane.  The ATL game was a fluky final drive and dropped touch pass to Saquon.  The Eagles are a pass away from being 9-1 and the #1 Seed.  I think they will catch the Lions, it may come down to tiebreakers.

Besides watching the eagles the rest of the season, I look forward in the off-season when howie goes out of his way to get a big-time pass rusher. you know he’s gonna try to acquire one.

They pretty much need to. Also, Williams is a FA. I would love to see another stud to pair up with Carter. The thought of what another terror in the middle to pair up with Carter for the foreseeable future is just too tantalizing to pass up and rare to have such a tandem.

Saquon isn't even our best offensive player (Lane Johnson). Lane's having yet another absurd season. Saquon is probably our 4th-5th best player right now (Lane, Quinyon, Baun, Carter) which is wild.

Pretty deep for DEs this draft class

Yes, yes he is.

Got to measure in White with the Braun contract. Burks has been silently a strong contributor when needed.

I won’t argue some on the defense aren’t playing at his level, but to say he’s not even the best O player is absurd bro.  lol, he’s almost single handedly winning games for us sometimes.
