I loved the game plan Fangio had set out there. The DL played the edges quite well and kept Daniels in the pocket and forced him to pass the ball. The DL had consistent pressure all night and caused Daniels to throw quick. I think washington's WR's had less than 30 yards receiving. Everything was kept in front of them and they were able to limit the big plays. If washington was going to have success on the ground, make it someone else other than Daniels.

Ok..forget the oline conversation....PAY BAUN NOW! 🙂  My god, I don't remember the last time we had a solid LB crew....Baun is making plays every week everywhere.

I figure Baun is playing as good or better than Patrick Queen while in his first year playing off-ball. That puts him 3yr/$40M+ neighborhood.

JD isn’t getting the club option, but I can see him doing his job as a run stuffer for another 10 years. He’s been more durable this year, and he seems to improve / gain momentum when he can maintain a healthy streak.

Out of this 2025 list of Eagles FA's, the "must sign" list is...

Zack Baun

That's it. We're in good shape and will have some opportunities to improve at spots where players are leaving. I really, really really, think this defense becomes an immovable object once it gets a game wrecking DE.

@just relax

what was the scheme change that opened up the run game in the second half?

they mentioned we trapped a few times. Seems like we went away from the zone runs and started pulling guys alot?

Seemed like we really started to attack the edges. DC run game also isn't good and got worn down by our massive oline

Is Davis just eating up double teams to let Carter thrive? Where has he been?

If we can keep hiding Rodgers, that would be a nice get and camp battle vs Ringo.

Everyone wants Baun to stay, but you can’t pay everyone.  We are paying both WRs and the QB elite money.  Pro bowl guys scattered along the OL on second contracts.  RB getting good money.

No huge edge contract, which helps.  But they still can’t pay everyone.

Saving money on the cheap rookie cb. Mitchell is already worth cb1 money.

slay and bradberry will be gone. Sweat and BG off the books. We can afford the dead cap and still keep Baun. He wont break the bank and has become a pivotal piece of the D

There are only 7 Linebackers in the whole NFL that make more than 10mm a year on avg.  This is Baun's first year playing LB.  I'm thinking if you went to him now, 24mm over 3 years with 14mm guaranteed, it gets it done.  Maybe you go up to 30mm over 3 years but that's the max.

He’s eating blocks so that Nakobe and Baun stay clean.

Depending on how the medical team feels about his knee, I would want to bring Sweat back too. He already has 6 sacks, he had 6.5 all of last year. He's been having a pretty solid year.

Fred Johnson and Rodgers are the others I would try to keep but not at the expense of Baun.

Picking up the fifth yr option is a no brainer

I'm not worried. They'll probably be able to keep him since he's not really getting huge opportunities. Either way, we'll be fine.

I think the club option is fairly expensive, right?

Hes eating double teams, occupying gaps, re-routing the rb to the unblocked gaps. These things are not going to show up in the stat sheet nor do they show up easily when watching it live. Hes doing a lot of the dirty work and washington almost never ran at him, so he basically cut the line in half.

I'd rather use Sweat's money and put it toward a pass rusher that can turn a game on its head. I'm over these guys that flash for a bit and then disappear for the rest of the season.

Keeping Johnson and Rodgers are "nice to haves" for me. But the Eagles will win without them.

I was going to say 8-9m a yr is probably the best he would see

Sweat is probably the odd guy out. 1st rd this year will be DE. Extend Davis, bring back Baun and Johnson

Yup but it gives you more time with no long term commitment

He thrives in this system and position. I'm sure he'll stay because of that

I think you’re still paying $10M+, I’d rather just extend him through a market value deal especially since we might be buying low at this point.

Baun to be willlldddddd!

Keep that dude or I'm organizing mobs.

I do think we wore them down

that last td barkley was untouched. Becton and mailata just washed their guys down

Why would Davis sell low at his age?
