I do think we wore them down

It felt the same way last week. You could almost sense the exact point in time when the Cowboys defense gave it up. At that point the Eagles run game is so strong that the second they leaned on them they just fell over.

Pay Baun. The Eagles have no trouble at all finding OL and could fill the gap left by Becton. It is way too difficult for them to even find a LB with a pulse.

I agree.  That being said, and it may be too early to say this, but there may at least be a possibility that the LB position can turn around for the Eagles in the coming years.  I do not know how long he wants to coach, but I could see Fangio having a Stout-esque effect on that position.  Let’s keep it real… he saw something in Baun that nobody else did.  And I know that he’s had some injuries issues early, but Dean has never looked better either.

It was a good win but it’s only one win. I’m trying not be start booking the Monday off after a certain Sunday next year.

Why would Davis sell low at his age?

He’s a quality role player, which I’d like to keep long-term - but he doesn’t play on passing situations, and typically only 30-40% of the snaps. I’m weighing this against the cost of keeping Baun - it’s like a zero sum game.

And Smith is starting to come on

they made a point about this being a young D that wants to learn from him, unlike miami last yr

i think Vic values smart players. Ghost plays smart, dejawn as well with even more phsyical ability. Mitchell seems sharp as hell, never seems to get suckered.

baun and dean seem very smart as well

Basically every single Blankenship int is the same, and I love it. I think its a testament to his ability to disguise his coverage and bait QBs into these throws. I'm sure they've seen it on film, yet they keep doing it.

I used to think that with impunity.   Then I was introduced to Jamon "Gloves" Brown.  They are really good at it, but they've had their swings and misses which hurt the team as well.   And crazy to say it, I think that they can overcome pathetic LB play better than pathetic OL play.   So, for me, its a balancing act of cost.  LB is likely the cheaper option overall, so that might be the safer place to invest the $$$, and then focus on drafting some more young OL.    This team's draft history at LB is abysmal.

@just relax

what was the scheme change that opened up the run game in the second half?

they mentioned we trapped a few times. Seems like we went away from the zone runs and started pulling guys alot?

Hopefully Just Relax will give us the expert analysis but one thing for sure are the student body left/right calls. Those work really well with Saquon behind are big pulling studs.

Quinyonamo Bay🤣

It felt like the gas ran out when Gainwell ripped off a couple of runs. It was like the adrenaline ran out with Barkley off the field and they were simply gassed.

Just thought of one too.

The Grand Quinyon.

Thankfully we got 10 days off

It’s all in the run game. Be dominant rushing the ball and it makes the game easier to control. The birds controlled the game.

I hope the more traditional style of football makes a comeback, rb becomes more important, receivers become less diva, qb is clutch but doesn’t have to throw for 5k yds and 50 TDs. Fullback becomes a real thing again.

Big uglies against big uglies, forget the spread and rpo every play.

I agree.  Make football ugly again!  :flex:

Truthfully, for me, there is nothing more beautiful than a long run, much more so than a deep pass.   Maybe that's just me.  But watching the OL create the gap in the line, and the RB gashing through for a big gain... that's far more exciting to me than a 40 yard pass.

wow carter playing 100% of snaps is impressive

Was surprised that Hunt had so many snaps last week and zero last night.

Yeah rewatching both TD runs i think they were both zone runs

You know you've gottem when Gainwell starts breaking off runs like Barry Sanders.

I'm sure some of the starters got extra game time with it being a 10 day recovery.

That was the moment I knew. That happened one other game as well.

Makes sense to me for a case by case basis.   Washington was much more likely to run the ball more often/effectively than Dallas.  Dallas was going to have to pass the ball, making him more of a threat as a pass rusher.  He's just not big enough to hold up at the POA at this point, IMO.   And frankly, it seems the Eagles made hthe right call on both games.

At this point, I think he's a highly situational type player.  And that's perfectly fine.  He was a raw prospect coming in... and small.  I've got no issue with essentially a red shirt year for him.

(And truthfully, I think the Eagles might have anticipated some garbage time for him against Dallas, and didn't against the Washingteam.)

And he was still really bringing it late in the game

Best RB in the last 30 years!

Game is on NFL network again at 2pm just a heads up

Daniels was clearly hurt and the Eagles got enough pressure and hits on him where it disabled their offense.  It's why I wasn't worried about the game, but was disappointed when the defense let them drive down and score on the 2nd possession. That woke up the defense and it was a wrap after that.

I thought our interior OL was not good.  The coaches did a nice job hitting the edges and that's where they wore down the Commanders and broke through.

The offensive approach is clearly to feel out the defense in the first quarter and then adjust.  I'm pleased with their adjustments but boy it would be nice to cut out the stupidity and start getting early points.

This team is a nightmare when theyre ahead.  The pass rush becomes better, the secondary can play controlled and start hunting turnovers, and the offense just can't be stopped--theres too many weapons.
