I agree.  Make football ugly again!  :flex:

Truthfully, for me, there is nothing more beautiful than a long run, much more so than a deep pass.   Maybe that's just me.  But watching the OL create the gap in the line, and the RB gashing through for a big gain... that's far more exciting to me than a 40 yard pass.

For me it just makes the game more interesting and each possession more important, more strategic. Up and down the field so quickly makes possessions less pivotal. Just my opinion. Each play call becomes more critical, game plans specific for that weeks opponent are more pronounced.

That was the moment I knew. That happened one other game as well.

Giants game, I think.

Everyone wants Baun to stay, but you can’t pay everyone.  We are paying both WRs and the QB elite money.  Pro bowl guys scattered along the OL on second contracts.  RB getting good money.

No huge edge contract, which helps.  But they still can’t pay everyone.

Howie won’t let him leave. He’s just too valuable and versatile to a Fangio scheme.

Daniels was clearly hurt and the Eagles got enough pressure and hits on him where it disabled their offense.  It's why I wasn't worried about the game, but was disappointed when the defense let them drive down and score on the 2nd possession. That woke up the defense and it was a wrap after that.

I thought our interior OL was not good.  The coaches did a nice job hitting the edges and that's where they wore down the Commanders and broke through.

The offensive approach is clearly to feel out the defense in the first quarter and then adjust.  I'm pleased with their adjustments but boy it would be nice to cut out the stupidity and start getting early points.

This team is a nightmare when theyre ahead.  The pass rush becomes better, the secondary can play controlled and start hunting turnovers, and the offense just can't be stopped--theres too many weapons.

Yup.  No reason for the silly reverse flea flicker at that point.  Just a bad play call that was horribly executed.

Nolan Smith is kinda turning into a young Brandon Graham situation. Probably not the best value pick at the time, but since he’s here he’s a good asset to the rotation. BG is our Trent Cole and Bryce Huff is our Jason Babin.

Hopefully he continues to follow the BG mold and eventually becomes a longtime starter.

Hes eating double teams, occupying gaps, re-routing the rb to the unblocked gaps. These things are not going to show up in the stat sheet nor do they show up easily when watching it live. Hes doing a lot of the dirty work and washington almost never ran at him, so he basically cut the line in half.

Watch him on the 3rd and 2 when we held them on the following 4th down.   Perfect example of what you are saying.

BG can definitely play another season if he wants. Especially in this role. His leadership is irreplaceable and he somehow continues to age like wine. I don’t think this is going to be his final season unless they somehow win it all.

Why on earth would baun want to leave? Just pay him. Bg and sweat need to go for cap reasons anyway

I could see a team discount from Baun.  Sweat is the best OLB on the team, hands down.

Why would either take team friendly deals?  This is Baun's one and only chance.  Either the Eagles get closer to a Barkley deal, or he tests the FA market, as he should.

Same with Becton.  Good on the Eagles for tapping into his talent, but talent is expensive.

We can likely do better than Becton. He's been solid at RG, especially in the run game, but not exactly the most reliable in pass pro and there's probably a decent chance Stout can work with a couple young prospects to replace him adequately enough. Baun, on the other hand, is an absolute gem that we should not let walk. I don't care if that means we have to part ways with Davis and Williams to do it, he's been exceptional and needs to stay. Finding his replacement would be so much harder.

I think one of the biggest benefits of the Georgia guys being around the same age is they may take hometown discounts to stick together and stay with Fangio. We need a Dean contract next year too

Thats not saying much…huff was supposed to be that guy but seems to be a huge whiff

Exactly. Baun and Graham were credited with the tackle.  But Davis was filling the entire gap.

Here is Davis on the previous play (2nd down) occupying the double team, forcing Robinson to run into an awaiting Carter.

Ok..forget the oline conversation....PAY BAUN NOW! 🙂  My god, I don't remember the last time we had a solid LB crew....Baun is making plays every week everywhere.

The more he plays, the higher his price goes up, and we know the routine with paying linebackers here... He might be priced out already as absurd as that may sound to us, but not to Howie and co.

Frankly think steen would be the guy that replaces becton. He’s actually been good when becton has missed time. He’s still cheap for another 2 years. Add on becton goes to free agency there’s a chance since he’s played well that he gets paid as nfl is in need of good OLinemen and we could receive a comp pick the following year.

We are second in the league in second half points scored.

Just like in Remember the Titans, our offense is  "...like Novacaine. Just give it time, it always works.”

Yeah Steen would be in the mix for sure, plus maybe another mid round pick to compete against. Don't get me wrong, I like what Becton brings to the run game, but if we have to prioritize who to extend, it really does need to be Baun.

Yeah I’d be for drafting a guard with positional versatility in the 3-5 round. Heck even second if one falls that we love. I agree. Would love to keep becton but i just don’t think you can pay everyone especially a guard and having stoutland who can really work wonders with guys. Plus becton might fetch you back a comp pick. Add on the defense without baun would take a major hit.

I’d also say i wouldn’t be surprised if Howie tries to go big at getting another pass rusher which makes it much harder to pay everyone. I think baun is the guy you have to bring back.

He's an EDGE, not an OLB.  I don't want to see him dropping into coverage.

It’s hard to say cause he did bring back bradham and extend him after his 2017. He let Edwards go cause he believed Dean would take over and be cheaper. Dean just took more time then we thought to get there.
