And it was.

You’re the only one who seems to think this is the same offense as last season.

Well, you’re wrong.

You literally agreed a lot of the offense today was last years staples lol.

And I never said it was the same as last year. I said it was not a complex offense today. I said they added more motion, which doesn’t make it "much more complex”. I said half was the same as last year aka last years staples. Jesus Christ.

I thought our defense played well overall. They got red zone stops when they needed to. They kept the game close in the 1st quarter when the Packers had the ball almost the entire quarter.

They did against a fully healthy Packers offense and we were missing Rodgers. The downgrade from Rodgers to Maddox is well. Maddox got picked on.

Gave up chunk plays but overall in the redzone, I was impressed. Will give the d line another week Ina real field for judgement

What’s the draft looking like for QB’s?

Shadeur Sanders, Quinn Ewers, Jax Dart.  I'm sure some others will emerge.

He’s really just entering his rookie season.

I like Blankenship. Heck two years ago i thought he could become a solid starter. But i can make the argument you can upgrade from what he is and be in a better at both spots. He is ok as a starter.

Blankenship is not going to be a coverage guy.  When you have dog crap CBs and everyone is just trying to stop the uncontrolled exsanguination, he’s going to be running slow sluggish circles in deep coverage trying to help out.

If you have high end CBs who need less help and you can hone him in better, he can really sniff out plays well both in the air and on the ground.

I see him as the 4th or 5th guy in any secondary who will rise or sink to the level of the guys around him.  No one will complain about him as a starting S if you have really good CBs, but he’ll look like part of the problem when you don’t.

I liked what I saw a lot with the LBers on TEs and RBs in space. They were not the issue today. The fact that Dean was even prepared for the pick six he dropped was a good sign, didn’t see a lot of that last year. Baun obviously had a game, hopefully White is effective when he comes back

Rodney McLeod was ok as a starter. Sheldon Brown was ok as a corner. Sometimes being reliable is more important than being flashy. Sure you could theoretically upgrade, but that's true of many players on most teams, and people don't push this narrative with the vast majority of them, but this narrative is common with Blank. Why?

Hurts didn't suck. He did try to do too much, which lead to 2 bad interceptions. On the other hand, he also engineered six scoring drives.

Time to retire the RPO, it's obvious the book is stay home and hit Hurts.

Hurts was really accurate on most of his throws.

Play action under center was more effective than the RPO.

Barkley is a beast.

The defense is a work in progress, at times looked dominant, at times like swiss cheese.

They're faster and more athletic than last season, but aren't  on the same page yet.

My prediction:  the post bye week team is going to kick ass.

Jordan Love was getting top 10 love before today's game. I get he was a bit banged up, but Jalen was better today.

Jalen played well at times but he has to stop turning the ball over. Love would have won but for a couple of drops and a Doubs  slip in the end zone.

At least without Kelce. It needs work.

Even with Kelce it should go away. They finally gave in and paid money to a RB. Get your moneys worth

Cam Ward

Offense needs to find their groove, but we beat GB while losing the turnover battle 3-1

That would not have happened last year.  I’ll take that as a good sign…they have a lot to learn from that game

Hurts did too many good things to be bad, but also did waaaay too many bad things to be good. There's a reason we scored 34 AND had 3 turnovers. He's very much part of both.

My biggest worry right now on offense is that we basically stopped under-center plays in the 2nd half.

First pick was absolutely awful, but first center fumble was Cam’s fault

Second pick was iffy, looked like AJ maybe had a 50/50 play if he didn’t slip, but Hurts didn’t need to try that in that situation. Second fumble was 100% on Hurts

He did have some awesome darts to Devonta and the touch on Saquon’s deep ball rivaled any pass he made last year. Calm down with the spray & pray and we’ll be fine.

Or put differently, he's solid at his job, but not so elite that he makes up for the mistakes of others. I'd argue you don't even need high end CBs, you just need ones who do their job. Bradberry was one of the worst corners in the league last year, and he also had a bad safety next to him. How many safeties do you think would have still excelled and looked good in that situation.

Want a great example of one who wouldn't have?

CJ Gardner-Johnson, because people would have been running free at his face to tackle in space all season long, Reed got like what, 100+ tackles? Not saying that's a good stat, I'm just asking you how many of those do you think Gardner-Johnson would have missed?

We can just agree to disagree.

I guess we’ll see moving forward how much better Hurts can get with this new offense - if he doesn’t improve then there could be issues going forward but I’m optimistic - I think he’ll get it down.  And the amount of weapons he has should make it easier on him and the rest of the offense as well.

The rest of the league will do the same gameplan and cut off the edges so Hurts can't roll out

Adapt or die. He has the weapons

Guys, Blankenship is good. No need to be worried or concerned there.

Agreed…Hurts did not suck.  His mistakes were bad and were magnified.  For his first game in the new system, he was ok.

I noticed that as well. Commentators made a whole thing about that in the beginning and then poof it was gone

His best throw of the night was the Saquon TD. Perfectly placed ball. I’m not completely out on him, but he’s most efficient when other guys are making the play not him. DeVonta was massive that final drive. That was all him after the catch and getting open. I just don’t think Jalen makes anyone better. Hence why I want him to be a game manager and not play hero ball.
