Might be time to retire the tush push or at least limit it to every so often. Just seemed like it’s not going to be the same.

I think you keep it, but you need more work on it. You don't throw that of all things away after one game with a new center.

QB sneak has always been good, we just haven't used it until recently.

They should have declined the penalty and then kicked the FG again. Free three seconds off the clock. Going for it would have been bad.

If that’s the case then you don’t take points off the board.  We already had 2 botched snaps on a very slick field.

Glad to see a couple are noticing what's really going on, yes. CJGJ benefits from situations where he doesn't have a lot of distinct responsibilities he absolutely needs to fulfill. It especially helps when you have one of the best sacking pass rushes in NFL history like we did a few years ago.

Two players I absolutely didn’t want in FA were Devin White and CIGJ. I’m already right about White. Hopefully CJGJ proves me wrong.

He mostly played well, but QBs are judged by their bad plays. He made way too many tonight.

Okay, he kinda sucked, then. Also, I tend to overreact when I’m high. However, I'm going to sleep like a baby in about thirty minutes; I’ll probably forgive him tomorrow.

Run the offense thru team leader Saquan

I agree. Would love to see some creative screens to get him in space too.

The offs are long that you have a botched snap or missed kick. Take the time off the clock IMO.

Reminded me of the wins from last season. Didn’t look good but won nonetheless. Hurts needs to better.

I hate to say this about a damn week 2 game…but I think it’s very, very important the Eagles pass the eye test next week.  They have a very long, near bye week between games going up against one of the worst teams in the NFL.

The stigma of last year was going 10-1 ugly with the cracks just waiting to crumble…we kept waiting for that "complete game” and instead we got the bottom falling out after ugly win after ugly win.  Tonight was a vintage ugly win from early last year.

For the morale of the team, for the confidence in Hurts, and…most importantly…for our sanity…it’s time that they deliver their first "pretty game” since the 2022 season NFCCG against the 49ers.  It’s been that long.  And if they can’t get it against the Falcons on extra rest, it may not be coming.

Good Game! Congratulations on the win! I thought we were going to pull it out but you guys outplayed us in the 2nd half. Hats off to you guys. This stings.

whelp the eagles are still screwed..its gonna take some time for offensive/defensive coordinators to adjust over the course of the season

but hurts sucks and is still making bonehead decisions in critical situations

I think the defense probably played better than we think at this point. I don’t think Hurts was garbage but he has to stop the bad turnovers.

• DeVonta Smith played as the Philadelphia Eagles’ primary slot receiver: Smith lined up in the slot more than all other Eagles wide receivers combined.

It’s fine. I have a good buzz and can admit his bad plays turned an easy win into a near loss.

Can we start the conversation that CJGJ is playing the wrong position?

Good. He could catch 100 passes.

I actually agree on this to some extent, but the comparison is deeper than that. McLeod too was an undrafted player who went undrafted because of measurables, how was he at the same time in his career?

What I'm saying is, I think while McLeod was better, I don't think the difference is by all that much, and McLeod had already developed. Give him a chance to.

Also it's not really you that I have issue with. It's more that every day the board acted like CJGJ was the next Malcolm Jenkins until we signed him, and didn't acknowledge his notable number of flaws as a safety. You kind of have to have 'solid' starters on the team somewhere, there's really nothing wrong with that.

I don’t know. I think Rodney McLeod is criminally underrated by eagles fans. He was a good starting safety. He got overshadowed by Jenkins. when he came to us he was entering his prime years. There’s a reason why he’s still in the league at his age. Now he’s not the same player he was but he’s still competent enough to play at a decent level in the NFL. It’s why started 5 games last year. Blankenship can get there i disagree about it being close at this moment in time when he played here with the eagles and where Blankenship is entering year 3. I think mcleod was a good starter. Blankenship is a solid starter.

to me CJGJ is a better slot corner than a safety. I think people got in awe of all the interceptions he had his first go around with the Eagles. I’d be much more excited for him if he was playing in the slot. But then they have to go and find another safety because Sydney Brown isn’t healthy. And who knows if he can play safety. Cooper Dejean they don’t wanna move to safety. So they would’ve been better off in my opinion signing Justin Simmons. I thought Justin Simmons was a better fit knowing fangio’s defense

All this being said, eagles still beat the packers. Thats a real win

CJ was most definitely significantly over-rated here. However, I never felt like he was a liability like tonight. I think he will be fine.

I showed how statistically Epps was a better safety, and even Jalen Mills was just as good. I was definitely not banging the table to bring him back. But I do think he is a net positive for this team relative to the safety play last year. Hes a sure upgrade there.

I’ve said for a long time he’s a better slot than safety. Maybe DeJean is a better safety than slot?

I hope Love is ok. But for Doubs slipping you probably win the game.

He's a safety. He has to be able to fulfill the needs of the position, including being able to tackle reliably.

He can tackle. He had a bad play on the TD. On that turf, not gonna tackle a speedy WR that far out of the play.

"Well, Hurts didn’t look good but we won and scored points” has already gotten old to me.  At some point, it’s going to get old for everyone if he doesn’t start looking good.

Could seem that way but keep in mind that we played a pretty good Green Bay team (playoff team) - after a 10 hour plain ride to Brazil - in the very first game - in a new offense.

I think "some sloppiness and wrinkles” were to be expected, tbh - especially since the first team had Zero snaps in preseason.

All I wanted was a safety that could actually play the position. That's all. And the difficulty for CJGJ this year with Mitchell and Fangio is going to be much easier than it was for Reed last year, so he has no excuses. I am very much hoping he gets better at tackling, but if he doesn't, I'm definitely going to light him up for it here.

Sirianni doing his best company man job really laying it on thick about how amazing Brazil was.

Hopefully we get some calls from this.

Unfortunately I don’t think the poor decision making that led to the turnovers will end.
