I didn’t see that but they did go to empty a fair bit.

They went to an empty backfield at least two times in a row (it might have been 3 times) on that final scoring drive, in a situation where they needed to be in a 4 minute offense.   And in so doing, they removed any concern about defending the run from the Packers' D.  That was some bad coordinating by Moore.  Make the Packers respect the threat to run, ESPECIALLY with Barkley having burned them so much already.  Use PA if you are going to pass.  Don't make yourself one dimensional in that situation.  Make the defense work.

Hurts can throw. It's his decision making and lack of pocket poise that get him intro trouble.

The field was sloppy…worse than the SB field.  That was part of it too

Was it?  It was bad, but I'm not sure it was worse.

Would we be better off with CJGJ at nickel and Maddox at safety? At least until Rodgers is healthy.

There were 8 lead changes in the game.  14/19 drives where the offense was trailing by less than one score.   Ridiculous.

I'd prefer an under-repped DeJean in the slot and keep CJGJ at safety.

Wonder how this would have ended without the mystery holding call on Alexander.

I wonder how this would have ended if they called holding during the flea flicker attempt, or if they hadn't called a weak RTP and even weaker DPI on the same play... or if they hadn't called the invisible personal foul for blocking on a punt return and they just let the players play.

Did he actually say "perceiver?”

I think that's the Portuguese pronunciation.

Why didn't DeVonta get voted as a captain again?

Must have been a great game to watch for the general public - and Brazil likely got one of the best international games to date

Huff was just a non factor!

It wasn't just Huff though. Did anyone see Brandon Graham do anything? What about Milton Williams and Jordan Davis (after the first play of the game)? Williams was so invisible during the game that I legitimately assumed he had been injured early on and we hadn't been informed. And then I saw him again in the fourth quarter, so I honestly don't have a clue what was up with him.

For now I'll just chalk it up the bad field and no one being able to get proper footing.

You mean on the drive where they pretty much sealed the game?  They completed a key pass to Smith from that look.

I don't think Moore is that naïve.  There was a reason based on match ups that led to that decision.

Or, that they squandered their early opportunities in the first quarter and instead of 14-0, it was only 6-0... and they let the Eagles hang around and get the ship righted.

Yep, Love had about 6 or 7 throws that a better QB easily makes and probably wins that game for them. He was bad last night.

Sirianni addressed it - said it came down to a few votes but wasn’t a big deal - DeVonta is a natural leader, even without the C

That could also work, imo

I think you keep it, but you need more work on it. You don't throw that of all things away after one game with a new center.

QB sneak has always been good, we just haven't used it until recently.

Keep the QB sneak.   Lose the Tush Push.   If you use under center snaps much more frequently and if you don't crowd around the ball like a rugby scrum, you don't need as much pushing from behind, because you aren't pushing as much mass from the defense.  Spread them out wide, and then you can just run a regular old QB sneak, with a QB that benches so much and actually have the advantage, because you have the element of surprise on your side.  Even move Barkley out of the backfield in motion just before the snap and have him take a LB with him.   Why telegraph it so freaking much?  And if you run a QB sneak from under center, but from a spread position... if the defense over commits, you can run a million counters to it and make the defense pay for over committing.  Once upon a time, they actually had some counter plays off of the Tush Push.  Where did they go?  :nonono:  Lack of imagination due to the success they found with it.   And they started to think about it and TALK about it as some type of cheat code.  It wasn't.  It never was.

We should also give some credit to Love.  He got rid of the ball any time there was any sort of pressure on him.

Could seem that way but keep in mind that we played a pretty good Green Bay team (playoff team) - after a 10 hour plain ride to Brazil - in the very first game - in a new offense.

I think "some sloppiness and wrinkles” were to be expected, tbh - especially since the first team had Zero snaps in preseason.

Self inflicted stupidity is not an excuse.

I think they should keep the tush push for anything under a yard - anything over either Saquon or Hurts sneaks.

Falcons aren’t one of the worst teams in the NFL. Can’t say they’re good but they have enough to win the division and get close to double digit wins.

Enough to win that division.  Easily, the weakest in the NFC if not the NFL.

That almost implies Slay had a bad game when he didn't. Not being targeted means he had good enough coverage for the QB to go to his next read.

Q played great for his very first NFL game though. Dude certainly looks like the real deal so far.

They were playing to get to the sneak instead. Don't like that mindset

If the almost $40M RB can't get the first down then why'd you give him the contract

And have been for 2 years.

Well, that’s not really the players’ faults, is it?

Pretty sure that decision comes from higher up and done with good intentions - trying to keep the team healthy, etc.

McLeod was the better player over Jenkins the entire time they were here.  Jenkins was a quasi LB who played very well in the box and was basically useless more than 10 yards downfield.

Cold take.

Rodgers doesn't have a position even when he's healthy. He's an outside CB. That job is Mitchells now. Cooper DeJean is who we need to hope takes over the slot.
