I was a huge critic of Deans career so far. He showed me far more good than bad last night. The good was VERY good too. I think he's the kind of player that only gets better if he's on the field. He needs to play.

So White sits?  Not that I am opposed to that, but I am very curious how Fangio plays this out.  The 2nd half run D was atrocious so I can no longer suggest scheme is the issue.  Is it dline issue, LBs not filling the proper gap?

Could be.  I was hoping they would just give the ball to Saquon again.  Hurts designed runs and the tush push should be shelved.

with 26 there is no need for the shove play

I think we are in a borderline Wentz 2.0 situation with Hurts. The difference being at least Wentz had the excuse of not being surrounded by an all star cast on offfense. Hurts has his good moments but my biggest issues with him are the dumb, idiotic plays and overall I don’t think he makes anyone better. Who does he elevate in this offense? AJ and DeVonta would be stars on 31 other teams. Same with Saquon. They won’t do it because of the $250 million contract and the money invested in AJ and DeVonta, but this should be Saquon’s offense complemented by Hurts as a game manager/Brock Purdy role. Use Saquon as your McCaffrey.

I thought Nakobe and Baun were great last night. I was concerned about the linebackers but they put that to rest for me at least last night. Baun especially was all over the place and might be a great find.

Was also encouraged by Quinyon last night. He held his own.

I think this is a reality we are closer to than some want to admit. Wentz has his haters who will say how dare you but it's just the truth of the matter. 2019 Wentz in year 4 was throwing to pure crap and playing the same kind of football that Hurts is playing with two top 10 WR. There's going to be the argument that Hurts hasn't had a consistent OC but the problems I see with Hurts are decision making, ball security and movement in the pocket. He hasn't improved in any of those areas over the last few years. It's something to keep an eye on. I don't want to overreact yet, but if Hurts continues to bail to the right, ignore the middle of the field and make untimely turnovers, well then there might be a big problem.

And the Eagles were extremely fortunate to weather the early storm of their own ineptitude.  They got out of the early part of the game only down 6, mostly due to the Packers' self inflicted wounds.  If it's 14-0 to start, the outcome of last night's game is likely very different.

By the same token, you could say it's a very different game if Dean picks off that pass and walks into the endzone.

White sits IMO. I think the DL wore down at an alarming rate last night. We're continually told how great the Eagles DL is but they always, always disappear at times. I think the LB did what they could last night.

Why do people try to bring themselves down from a win because of things that might have happened, but didn't?

Did Bryce Huff even play last night? He was a big Yikes.

I'm still holding out hope that Hurts can be 2022 or better

We just beat a playoff team on a neutral field. Some people are just miserable. They think if things don't work out for the Eagles they can take solace with an 'I told you so' prize

Is that what it is? Hurts did not look much different than last year. That’s concerning especially, when you run into a team like San Fran or Detroit down the road. Said it earlier, not sure why ppl were in love with the pack, they were mostly a .500 team and then won one game in the playoffs.. they nothing special

One good thing about that Friday game is I can have more attention on the other games for Sunday

Now...ignoring QB until next week:

What is the LB situation?  Is there a problem brewing with White?  Sure seems like Baun and Dean earned the right to start next week.

Is Rodgers back as CB3 next week?  Does CB3 mean Rodgers outside and Q in the slot?  Are we really going to ask a rookie (even if he's a great one) to move all over the field instead of get comfortable in one spot?  Fangio literally said he doesn't want to ask him to do that, but might have to.

I don't want to make too much of CJGJ's (terrible) game.  I expected Blankenship to be the problem and CJGJ to lock it down.  But the bottom line is that we had 2 of 5 full time DB's look terrible last night and one of the best ones, Blankenship, isn't going to do that every week.  So it really shouldn't be THAT hard or unfounded to find ways to get Ringo and Dejeane on the field.  Ringo is too talented and this secondary is not good enough for him to somehow get caught up in a numbers game and have his career stagnate.

CJGJ was incredibly inconsistent in his first time as an Eagle. The INTs were wonderful but his play on the non highlight snaps was no better than average.

You could say the same about the pick 6 the Packers dropped

What does his center being different have to do with his INTs?  The botched snap at the goal line was on Hurts, btw... not Jurgens.   The botched snap out of the shotgun in the first quarter was 100% on Jurgens.   But the QB/Center exchange cannot be an excuse.   The only reason that should matter would be the added responsibility of calling protections is too much for him to handle.   He needs to prove that it is not.

His center actually helped him with some of his reads and calls. There's still some chemistry to be developed with a new center. What's not to understand?

The Packers got an INT on the next play.

There were plenty of missed opportunities on both sides. What's crazy is even with all the miscues and misfires and F ups. The Eagles still almost put up 40 pts against a playoff caliber defense. And they only got the 1 turnover. I'm encouraged.

That resulted in a FG

7>3

Also would have left a lot more time on the clock

Jalen Hurts remains undefeated in season openers. He's going to have another big year.

Hard to measure the DL with that crap field. Which worries me if they play on a crap field again this will be the output.

Carter with 51 snaps, Davis 35, Williams 28.  DEs all around 30 with Sweat at 41.  I can see Carter getting winded, as for the rest of the Dline wearing down, it is concerning.

Hurts needs to stop with the happy feet while in the pocket.

This is funny. I always thought Baun looked like the most generic create a player face from Madden.

Has anyone been on a Packers message board to see if they're saying it may be time to dump Love because it's year 5 now and he's only had one outstanding season and he was worse than Hurts and the Eagles aren't even that good like Detroit or San Francisco?  I bet they're not.

It probably is time to start comparing Love to Carson Wentz

Because they are miserable. I enjoy each win.

23 turnovers in the past 18 games is not an anomaly.   He may have a big season stat wise but if the turnovers continue at this rate a successful season for the team is in doubt.  Overcoming 3 turnovers to win is challenging.
