It was probably mentioned already but no starters one on offense played in preseason so first game since the bucs playoff loss. If yesterday was considered an off day for us and we still scored 31, watch out.

Even better if we scored 34.

What's the point in trying to change how someone else reacts to an Eagles' game?

He should do it for a 4th in a heartbeat. McKee clearly outplayed Pickett. He's completely redundant here.

I'm sure one thing on Howie's mind re Pickett vs. McKee is that Pickett has NFL starts, McKee doesn't. Of course McKee will never have an NFL unless - yeah.

Didn't we hear that exact thing last season?

We were 10-1 and winning! Who cares if it's not pretty?

You know the rest of the story.

Apologies for quoting this post a 2nd time, but I wanted to remind you of your reaction after we beat the Lions in 2022:

We followed up with that disastrous win with 15 more wins and a trip to the Super Bowl.

If Howie read this, he would say:

GB was 6th in offensive DVOA last year. They will be much lower this year because Love got hurt, but we got their real offense.

Unless Kirk Cousins off a torn achilles can get the Falcons going, our next 5 games should be easy from a defensive perspective.

The difference between the ugly win in 2022 was Hurts. Hurts was ballin against the Lions the defense just sucked in that game. Last night Hurts was very meh. 2023ish. So I do think there is cause for concern but far from time to panic. This team can be a good team with Hurts playing like last night, but they can’t be a great team. If he plays like thy last night regularly it will catch up to them. If he cuts down on the turnovers then they can/should be great

The fact that the Eagles had a >90% success rate with it makes me want to keep it. An old coach said, if a play succeeds, run it again. Run it again until they stop it. Don’t assume they figured it out.

Normally I'd agree. Except with this one

And I was right. Gannon went on and showed that he was a joke and got replaced.

Hurts had an amazing season and has gone down hill since.

That season, as of now, was an outlier in Hurts career.

Too true, but I’ve come to accept it and even embrace it.  It is part of what Eagles fans are; passionate, sometimes irrational, many times illogical, but always loyal.

Sure ...  Those Vikings really crushed us!

Gannon got a HC gig after his defense racked up 70 sacks and Jalen got an extension. So right you were!

Love also wasnt great. How much pre season work did he get?

I saw both QBs lose their footing a couple times when planting. Love also had some serious cramping issues during the game. I do think, though, NFL teams should reevaluate their current philosophy of not playing starters at all in the preseason.

I doubt it especially since they added a game and will end up adding a 18th game. Feels like teams just use the 1st game as a warmup.

Personally I’ve just been burned way too many times as a Philly sports fan to just enjoy the moment. I know it’s not healthy but it is what it is growing up and missing the really bad days of Eagles history and starting to follow the team closely around the same time Lurie bought the team.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A good look at some of our defensive plays.

MAC school taking down a top 5?   Yeah, that's more rare than winning the Super Bowl.

exactly.  He may never win a bigger game in his life.  Its not easy to explain how big of a win it was for that program.

Close but not his school. He's Eastern Illinois. NIU is home to Michael Turner.

I'm developing quite the draft crush on Nebraska DT Ty Robinson. Geez what a player.

Also, is Colt McCoy the best NBC can do for their primetime game color guy? He's got no life in his voice.
