I like BLG but this is beyond ESP levels of stupid. Imagine calling someone who just got basically a quarter of a Billion dollars dumb and suggesting he should play a 17 game season at age 31.

The idiot here is Jerry. Good for Dak. Get paid and don’t risk injury.

Dak 4 years 240M. 231 guaranteed.

Its bittersweet their ceiling is still currently the divisional round but he keeps them competitive for the division crown.

The Jones just keep getting owned by their players. I'm trying to find it but does his contract have a no trade clause? If so even better.

Great negotiating strategy.  What until other the other QBs get signed, continually driving up the price and sign Dak desperately hours before the season opener.

same thing with Lamb didn't get a deal done till a few weeks ago

Can they afford Parsons now?

I think people are way too quick to rush to judgement.  Every year is the same, some teams starts out hot, gets anointed as the coming team to beat, then goes into a tailspin. And some team comes out of nowhere mid-season after a slow start. The first few games are when most upsets occur, before teams settle into a groove (or fall apart).

You have to take the first four or so games with a grain of salt.

It's another new scheme for Hurts, plus he's added pre-snap calls. New blitz pick-up scheme, getting used to pre-snap motion, etc.

Just looking at the back seven, you could see they're a lot more athletic, but they also had communication problems, not surprising since even if the defense isn't that new (Desai was a Fangio protege), the terminology is probably different, and a lot of new players learning to get on the same page (only returning starters were Slay and Blackenship).

If the Eagles hit the bye week 3-1, with two weeks to make adjustments given enough game film to see what works and which players may need to be replaced, they're going to have a great season.

The idea that the 1st qtr of a season is a wash is ridiculous to me.  They have been installing and practicing since May.  Likely studying since the coordinators were hired.

On offense, the only adjustments that need to be made are by Hurts.  He leaves the pocket too soon frequently,  bails to the right almost exclusively so left contain is needless for the D, and he is throwing INTs at a Favre/Blanda pace.

He can get better with INTs hopefully, but the ball was right in defenders hands 4 times Friday. I think he is what he is in the pocket and escaping to the right.  I don't see that changing.

I remember this happening but didnt really catch it live.

Seeing this, theres no real body contact. The reason for Brown's slow get up is likely his head. This looks to be a likely unreported concussion.

Can’t even load the website on my phone for more than a couple seconds… RIP walterfootball.

Wait. They guaranteed $231 million to a 31 year old QB that couldn’t win a playoff game with 8 other all pros on the team?

I hope Jerry Jones lives to 120 years old.

Kendrick Lamar is this years halftime show. That certainly is a choice.

Step 1: Refuse to extend your QB before the league season starts. Also refuse to convert his 28mm base salary into a signing bonus to free up over 20mm in space. Carry him into the offseason with a 55mm cap number.

Step 2:  Watch 2 starting offensive lineman (including an all pro), starting RB, starting CB and 2 rotational pass rushers sign elsewhere while adding nothing.

Step 3: Cave 5 hours before game 1 and give your QB the richest contract in NFL history.

Just some genius team management here.

Next year's free agent class:

You aren’t even taking into account basically doing the same to your best skill player while publicly insulting him

Yeah. Ceedee was carried at 20mm all offseason as well. 75mm for 2 guys that you ended up extending…any other GM would be fired.

It drives me nuts that none of the "analysts” that talk football understand the cap. Proper use and allocation of the cap is the key to success, unless you have Mahomes.

We are very lucky to have Howie.

Still waiting to hear about no trade clause :smoke:

Jerrah is noted to be a cheap owner.  The Cowboys are low, if not the lowest, in cash spending.

Part of me thinks he did this intentionally to prevent himself from spending money on free agents.

😂 Jerry Jones, that gift that keeps on giving.

There’s a sucker born every day, and then there’s Jerry Jones, who actually works at being the best sucker ever born.

Who in their right mind guarantees that kind of money? Never mind, just mind blowing.

Still, I bleed blue. Go Cowboys!

It’s some combination of being stubborn, stupid and cheap. Dallas has never managed the cap properly. Will Clay and Stephen Jones do a great job drafting talent, and Jerry screws it all up with criminal mismanagement.

They were 29th last year I believe, consistently rank in the last 3 in cash spending.

Paying Dak More then Mahomes? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I hope Jerry lives forever.....

More shocked that Dallas doesn't get to beat up on the Giants in week 1 again as per usual

I’m still trolling the Green Bay boards, remember they crowned them all offseason

I think the playoff record stuff with Prescott(or any QB for that matter) is generally dumb. Teams win games not individual players. Watching their playoff games I don't think he played amazing, don't think he played bad either. Just played... normal. That said, I don't think he's a great QB and if they want to pay a non great QB the most in the NFL, that's fine with me.

They'll keep Parsons, but I suspect they won't be active in free agency for a few years because of all these contracts.
