I’m legitimately concerned about Hurts, but it seems like the overall position outside of Mahomes has regressed at least in week one.

Yep.  There is an insurmountable gap between Mahomes and the rest of the NFL right now.  Allen can go toe to toe on his best day, but that best day is too rare.  Similar for Burrow and even Hurts.  Allen and Hurts are the two QB’s who most famously matched Mahomes blow for blow in the playoffs, albeit in losing efforts.  Mahomes didn’t really play well on his own accord when he was topped by Burrow and Brady.  (Forget about guys like Lamar Jackson and Dak at this point…they are never going to do it).  That, combined with his own misfires, is the reason Mahomes doesn’t go 17-0…but in the playoffs, a lot of those chaotic factors go out the window when it comes to a perennial champion.

I’m surprised the rams are in this still. Feels like a matter of time til the war of attrition comes into play. Down 3 offensive tackles, down multiple corners, nacua hobbling with a knee issue. That doesn’t include the shuffling on the interior of their oline

It’s more of a paradigm shift in the position that I think all of us are going to have to get used to. All of us are old enough to recall the past 20+ years of incredible QB play between Brady, Peyton, Brees, Warner, Rodgers, Favre, and even guys like Rivers, McNabb, and Roethlisberger. I think the change in the college game has a lot to do with the style we’ve been seeing, where guys seems to run around and wait for a guy to get open. Also quarterbacks just being better athletes nowadays where they can rely on scrambling more.

There were 5 big NFC teams to start the year: SF, Det, Phi, Dal, GB.

Both Dal and Det got to play opponents missing both starting OTs and it effectively killed the game.

Luck matters.

I'm just glad we won our Superbowl before Mahomes got going.

It's going to be rough these next few years for the rest of the NFL.

I think Mahomes is as good if not better than the best of that group.  And I think Allen/Burrow/Hurts/Lawrence/Dak/Jackson/Tua/Purdy aren’t as good as any of them.  So we have a near unprecedentedly large drop off.

Running around and waiting for guys to get open…as you said…works in college for quite a few guys with the right talent in the right offense.  And in the NFL it works for Mahomes.

I think the rest of the QBs could use a dose of "old school” pocket passing.

Once they get these young WRs of theirs going for him, it’s going to suck.

Terrion Arnold is getting toasted.

As I suspected.

He played a ton of slot at Alabama, ran slow-ish at the combine and now is the outside CB in man-heavy scheme.

Tough ask.

Maybe you didn’t see AR today.  His physical gifts are incredible.  My fantasy QB.

Said above the rams are also down multiple corners. Also shifted everyone in the interior oline cause of the ol injuries. And nacua hurt his knee. It’s week 1 and they are extremely banged up already.

feels like they should’ve kicked the field goal early on instead of going for it

PI on Arnold.

Man he is not playing well at all.

Did not.  But he’s too new to be part of the conversation or landscape.  Script hasn’t even started to be written.

Q > Arnold

NFL = not for long.  Made plays today that good QB’s cannot make.  Was ridiculous.

He’s must watch TV for good reasons and bad. He can launch it 60 yards off his back foot on a dime and he can make the easiest throws look hard. He’s all over the place but if he can put it together he’ll be special. He has all the tools, but that was his story at Florida too and he never put it together.

This has become a game.

So how did Brady do as a commentator?  I heard a little during Redzone and it didn't seem he was all that good.

Arnold is on the struggle bus.

Big fan of the way Kyren Williams plays. Really good player.

Way way way too early to confirm, but so far we def picked the right CB.

that was a nice pick

i think that holds up.

Oh wow, look at other QBs throwing interceptions

Wow what a Fing catch by kupp
