I was talking to my buddies about Brissett. He's got to be one of the most boring QB I've ever watched. He's made a nice career for himself being completely mediocre.

Classic backup QB.

The best case scenario with that throw was AJ breaks up the INT.

Like he did on a different play.

The hidden factor in Dodson coming in.  Dodson can play outside, freeing up Smith to feast in the slot.

Why is the environmental protection agency grading qbs???

Seriously though what is EPA and how is it graded?

So he could break up the pass but he couldn't catch it? I see logic is taking a vacation day today.

This sort of thing happens in games all the time.  A lot of bad throws by QBs end up with the WR having no chance of making the catch, so they turn into the DB and they disrupt the defensive player from being able to make the interception.   In fact, Brown played DB on a different play in that game that could have/should have been an interception if not for the disruption by Brown to break it up.

Couldn’t disagree more.  I’d hate to see this defense without him

What does him learning to play more under control have to do with the defense having to play without him?

Just goes to show how little depth their is at the QB position. Where if you just have a pulse and can be somewhat competent, and not completely useless, you can make a 10 year career for yourself bouncing around as a backup. And a lot of the traits a backup QB needs to have is just being a good locker room guy and efficient in film study/game-planning. It's why Chase Daniel lasted in the league so long. It's really a great job and pays well.

A better question would be what would make one think he’s playing out of control to the point that it’s a problem?  I mean I think we all know he’s not a finished product at this point in his career, but I haven’t heard a lot of talk (or really any) about a lack of control issue

I think Howie definitely saw a potential issue with Reddick.  I really hope Huff works out, but it’s pretty easy to see where Howie’s mind was in this.  I’m not sure anyone was really aware of this, but Reddick clearly has a screw loose.  Anyone that thinks it’s logical to skip game checks, probably wouldn’t have listened to Fangio as much as he should if he stayed.

Chris Jones lost game checks during his holdout. His answer was he could afford it. It eventually paid off as he was given a new contract

(I'm just saying it does work out. I know Reddick is not Jones. Just that Jones was the most recent one that I could remember that held out for a contract)

I wanted to keep Reddick 🤷‍♂️

Jalen Carter drawing every double-team means that someone else has to win. Bryce Huff was getting chip-helped a ton. So that's the 5th option in a route (often a check-down). Need more for iDL #2 and Sweat/Graham/Smith.

I don't see Jordan Davis getting to a second contract here.

Jalen Hurts is a great pocket-passer.

His biggest problem has been that he leaves the pocket too early, negating one of his strengths.

That was basically Cox. He'd get doubled and sometimes even tripled. It opened up a lot for the others and why our Dline was a big strength for years

Football Perspective on X: "Since Dave Gettleman said we were all morons, used the #2 pick on Saquon Barkley over Darnold, and said Eli Manning had a ton left in his arm,

Not to be negative on Jalen Carter, but it seems to me that as impressive as some of his plays are when he's pancaking a lineman, all he's doing is taking himself out of the play. Great for highlights, but doesn't do much for the game. He needs to learn to play under control and to make an impact on the whole play, rather than just the lineman across from him.

He was off his feet more than I would like, for sure, but the footing was so bad that I'm not drawing any conclusions from it.

They probably heard about the training camp record and wanted as much coverage as possible.

Love this. We paid him, he's here for 2 years, use him up.

Theres that, and the fact that Jalen doesnt get many targets to the #3 WR.

What did Moore do as far as distribution?

I assume if we traded a 3rd round pick we would have a plan to use him.

This is a field sub-tweet. Jalen slipped on the first attempt.

Must suck to be dealing with kicker issues.

You’ve confused me. So your position is that only elite QBs can win Super Bowls?

In this era in general, you are likely to have an elite QB if you're winning Super Bowls (especially if you're putting a plural on it). Mostly because defenses are at a disadvantage and are exposed even more so come play off time. Are there outliers? Of course. We have a Super Bowl win because of one.

Bad field conditions = don't do it though right?
