Watched it a bunch, he never got his feet settled.  Panicked a bit too early and bailed before anything really had a chance to develop.  There was pressure, but room was there.

The only option from the pocket was Goedert and that was on the other side of the field from where he was looking. That opportunity was gone. If he steps up and looks at Goedert, he's getting hit while he throws at best. It's that simple.

The decision to bail was not the bad decision on that play.

Question for the blog.

Today is my daughters first day of show and tell for pre-3K.  She needed to bring in something that starts with the first letter of her name.  Since she goes by Ellie, something Eagles was the obvious choice.  It came down to two things and we decided on the mini helmet that goes on the floating stand in my office (schmoopies pick)

So my question is this:  If we sent her off with option 2 (my pick), am I a bad dad?

Option 2:

I don’t think Purdy ends up falling off. I’m not starting a franchise with him, but he’s good in that offense and is more than capable. He fits what they do perfectly. Really interested to see what type of deal he gets. I know Shanahan likes him, but I’m sure in the back of his mind he knows he’s not a $60 million/year QB which is what he’s going to command if he has another good season. But they’ll be good again this year and are going to make another deep run. And they’re not going to start over again at the position.

Purdy seems like a guy who will take a very team friendly deal

He’s going to sign Parsons and draft 2.

We don’t have that cap flexibility but I’m sure Howie has thought about how he’d do it.

I don’t think so, but we’ll see.

My white trash roots are incorporating Coors Light into Ellie's Halloween costume.  She's going to be Dorthey, schmoopie the wicked witch, I'm the scarecrow (which was suggested IMMEDIATELY <_< ), Kelce is Toto, Izzy is the lion and I'm going to walk around my neighborhood with a tall boy coors light as the tin man :P

Howie is going to draft 3 DL next year after watching the Lions and SF.

As he should. For as much as the Eagles invest in DL, they are pretty underwhelming. I loved what the Rams did with Fiske and Verse this year. Maybe the Browns realize the cluster F they are and try to get a kings ransom for Myles Garrett. Maybe Micah Parsons actually becomes available. He's gotta do something though because after this year, Sweat and BG are gone. Williams might be as well if they can't lock him up. Davis is very uninspiring at DT.

Carter can't do it by himself. Huff needs to earn his money and Hunt needs to prove he belongs. Ojomo, Booker and Smith are wildcards and anything we get from them is a bonus.

Give me another stud DT and DE in the draft please.

glad I didn't stay up to watch that game

Even if he gets a below market deal like $20-$30 million a year surely that will still have an impact on their ability to retain/extend other players compared to his current numbers.

Honoring history, good or bad, is good parenting.

I could have suggested my old Eagles starting lineups from the late 80s-early 90s, but I'm not trusting those in a room full of 3 year olds

Also I originally brought up the LJ Smith custom McFarland but schmoopie noticed it was missing its lower right leg

Cam really needs to fix those snaps. That's going to be a disaster one of these games.

I’m still not sure AJ is making that play? I could be wrong and we will never know but I’m still thinking that’s on Jalen.

It was a clean pocket when he bailed.  Brady would laugh if you told him that wasn't a clean pocket.  He had a chance to throw Goedert open.  Good QBs throw before the receiver even breaks.  A terrible play by a QB that has happy feet.

They screwed up with that Aiyuk deal. He isn't worth that much, should've let him walk.

Kirk clearly isn't healthy.   Defense should be able to have a dominant performance on Monday against the passing attack.

Who had Devaughn Vele leading Rookie WR's in catches after week one?

Kirk was playing that way in a dome.

His arm strength is not going to be better outside. Let's root for some wind.

I took a flyer on him in both my fantasy leagues last week but we have extra bench spots.

I don't care what anyone says, it was a dumb throw by Hurts.  I'm OK with him bailing the pocket because that's who he is, but throwing a pass that has any chance of being picked in that circumstance is monumentally stupid.

13 min to go in the 4th, a FG puts you up 8 and you maintain momentum.  It was a sloppy, back and forth game and the Packers were teetering.  Just take the damn points and keep pressure on the Packers.  Instead they get a FG and you're right back in the muck.
