White was a stud at rushing the passer and defending the run. He'll be missed there. This was always going to be the problem though once Fangio put pen to paper. Without competent LBs, it's a scheme with liabilities that can be readily exposed.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this ankle thing has been exaggerated and this really is just White pouting like he did last year in Tampa. 

It's the first game of the season and there are unknowns but i'm not scared at all.  I'm very confident no matter what our Offense will get this done.

I would say he's better at shedding and gap fits than you are implying, but I'm not gonna defend him too much. He's just not a good player and I've been saying LBs were a glaring weakness since we hired Fangio.

yep, many of us here hated the White signing. Howie did not do a good job there in free agency. He’s been bad for 4 years and after the horrific season the Eagles had at the position, him being the big signing was honestly a disgrace.

Sure sounds like White got benched again and isn’t handling it well

Yep. There were so many decent LBs to sign and we picked the worst on-field fit possible. 

It was such a ridiculous fit that I assumed Fangio had to have signed off on it and had a specific vision for his fit. Now I assume it was just Howie chasing a theoretical buy-low LB with pedigree.

On the flip side of that is Baun who nobody figured for a LB and who they claim is doing well. All subject to actual real game play of course

Wonder if you could just make him an edge rusher and simplify his tasks. Be a parsons and just go get the qb

Feels like at the trade deadline if Dean and Braun don’t pan out that they are gonna have to make a trade at LB as i don’t think trotter jr, BVS or burks are capable of starting at this point in their careers.

I admit that thought crossed my mind too.  Early in camp he was talking about getting a wake up call and being humble in his situation.  But losing the starting job may have been a deal breaker for that

I think Hurts puts the league on notice in this new offense and I can't see the Packers stopping the Eagles at all, only if the Eagles are sloppy.

Why give him a guaranteed 3.5 mil then, makes no sense. Unless Howie and his pro football evaluators are that f'n bad, which is very concerning then.

Too small for that, and would still be way down on the depth chart. 

If White was that bad, then not jumping on this deal was a mistake. All the Titans sent was a 2026 5th round pick and they got Jones and a 6th in return.
