I place Hurts lower on the list of reasons why they lost today.  But the discussion will always hone in on the QB.  He threw for 180 yards and, once again, equivalent TD’s and INTs.  I feel like every good throw he makes stands out now as somewhat unexpected…someone has to point out….*look, see he’s not a crappy passer.*. The volume and the consistency just aren’t there.

But tonight…coaching, defense take the cake.

Can't win 3-4 playoff games with this pass-rush and a DC who doesn't love to blitz.

Yeah exactly this! Power run on 3rd and they very likely get at least a couple. They tried to get cute and whilst Barkley HAS to make that catch they still shouldn’t have taken the risk.

Hurts is like 4th or 5th down on the list of reasons for why they lost.

No, it was a bad play call. Just because he was open doesn’t make it a good play call.

Players drop passes. Even wide open ones. That’s why you don’t take the risk. It would have been a bad play call even if it converted.

This is like a Boa Constrictor who is wrapped around its prey’s neck. The snake doesn’t release its grasp just to get a better leverage point. It just squeezes and sucks the life out of you.

That is what we should always, 100% of the time, do in that situation. You run it. You burn time off the clock. Maybe you get the first down, maybe you don’t, but you then leave yourself with lots of options:

Tush push if it’s just short or field goal with LESS time on the clock.

I am beyond furious right now. It’s just dumb risk taking.

Hurts played well enough. I don’t think this loss is on him.  The defense was pathetic. Barkley dropped a catchable ball. He played well enough to win. My bigger concern is the lack of pass rush and inability to cover. 

I can't believe Barkley dropped that. It's game over and we're laughing.

Losing in 2022 hurts even more because this team ain't going back anytime soon

This is the type of loss that makes you question your fandom.

Good thing we won our Superbowl, makes it easier to disconnect after you have felt football nirvana.

Agree that he's lower on the list tonight, but I feel that Hurts is incapable of putting this team on his back when they need it. 

It's 2023 again...but with ugly losses.

No pass rush is the No. 1 culprit. He’s a statue back there, and it isn’t like he was getting rid of the ball quickly. We got dominated upfront. 

Yea, the defense gave up a miserable drive (great job by big play slay). They never should have been in that position to begin with. Brain dead coaching.

Run the Fing ball on 3rd down. Barkley probably gets at least 2, then you run the clock down and tush push. Game Fing over.

On the final drive, only needed 20 more yards.  Had a timeout.  Poor decision.  Again.
