I’ll ask people again. What did you see from the defense on that final drive that makes you think Atlanta doesn’t score with a minute to go instead of 1:40?

Well I hope he learned you can’t trust this defense and take the 3 earlier in the game.

That's what we were made to believe, but this offense looks exactly the same minus a few designed runs and WR screens

I don't know what it is exactly, but they look so slow, plodding and clunky. Looking at this team compared to the Saints or even a team like the Vikings or Niners. When they're clicking it's wide open, chunk plays.

I'm not sure if it's how much time this team takes between plays. Or Hurts' style. But even their successful plays seem so clunky. Nothing looks crisp except on plays when AJ Brown destroys his man and gets wide open.

That this season has not changed. Maybe it's Hurts. Maybe Sirianni has more of an influence on the offense than we were led to believe. I don't know the answer. The biggest problem on this team is the defense BY FAR, but I was expecting more out of this offense, not gonna lie. It doesn't look even remotely electric.

Nick Sirianni said there was a mechanism on the 3rd and 3 pass play call where if it’s not wide open, Jalen Hurts sits down and takes a sack. (At that point they’d then run clock and kick the FG.

That sounds as stupid as the "we called that play to draw pass interference”

Siri will never be a HC again in the NFL.

Why would anyone hire a HC that has zero Xs and Os value and is categorically dependent on his coordinators.

I dunno, ask John Harbaugh.

Wentz has had a lot of different OCs too.  At some point it says something about the player too…

Am I missing something?  Did Hurts not throw a perfect throw to Barkley?  Did he not carry a heavy load on his shoulder tonight?  Did he let Cousins go however many yards with 1 minute left and no timeouts for a TD?  Did he decide to go for it on 4th when the offense was not grooving at all in the 1st?

IF.

IF.

IF.

That is EXACTLY why you NEVER take that risk.

It’s not guaranteed.

Barkley dropped the ball. He was wide open. Would have been game set and match. Elliott still could have missed the FG, falcons still could have scored a TD if they had 50-60 seconds to do so. Then there is zero pass rush on defense. Players didn’t execute.

Is Goedert intriguing? He’s a JAG now

Not sure what his contract is but wouldn't surprise me if this is his last year.

Time to get a younger more dynamic TE.

There was also no reason for us to force and hurry any long throws before the Hurts INT. We had one more TO and 3-4 plays left to run before one of the best long legs in the league could have a chance. We only needed another what 12-15 before we were in Jakes range. This team never takes what is given to us.

Very disappointed in Goedert’s usage. This really set up to be a big game for him, but he seems to be an afterthought. Moore has gotten good production out TEs at every stop.

Start looking at the QB.  Hurts doesn’t get the program.

We don’t need to pay $250M+ to a guy who’s going to default to pulling the ball down and keeping it 15 times per game until he inevitably gets injured again.

I personally think they should’ve run twice

Should have just run toss and let Barkley get the first down with a head of steam. 0 chance he'd get beat to the edge and then stopped when he lowers the shoulder.

I didn’t love the play call, but it was executed well until Barkley dropped it. To me the biggest problem I have from this game is the Eagles allowed a team to go 70 yards in 65 seconds without any timeouts to score the game-winning touchdown. This is crap they did last year. Now you have Vic Fangio here and he was supposed to be the savior. Oh will be better defensively that won’t happen. You literally have the same exact Fing problems you had at the end of last year. Little to no pass rush. Poor against he run. And couldn’t stop a nose bleed at the end of the game or halves. The scheme Fing sucks.

Starting to sense a pattern here...

Hurts played well up until that last int.  Was not a good decision when you were close to FG range and had some time left.

Yes Goedert is a weapon at TE, if used correctly.

This was the SEA game from last season all over again.  Cousins went 70 yards in a minute and it took Hurts two plays to throw the game away.

The two players the Eagles miss the most from 2022 are Reddick and Hargrave

At least in that case he was covering for his dope QB/receiver, although it’s pretty bad that he couldn’t come up with a better lie.

There's no excuse for this offense to score less than 25 points against a team like the falcons. There just isn't. They couldn't do ish for an entire half, made worse by that Fing buffoon not kicking a field goal

Just because the names aren’t hyped up nonstop on tv doesn’t mean the Falcons dont actually have good players. Philly is just more of a hyped up market.

Exactly. It would be odd in a general sense to fire him with his resume but he’s probably not coveted at all in the league. It’s about as lose lose situation as you can get.

Trying to find that one Bijan run where Huff felt it necessary to adjust his facemask while chasing him. It was an all time loser play.

The steelers led by Justin fields only scored 3 fewer points than us last week

Yeah, that was a pretty Doug Pederson kind of call, shame we don't still have Schwart-

Oh wait. Right. He had problems and we disliked how his defenses played too.

Actually we've had problematic defensive schemes since JJ. Wonder what happened.

...Eh, nevermind. Too much critical thinking required.

Don’t disagree. However, the eagles still think that this scheme is the best scheme to run in today’s NFL. It’s not. I would have to go find it but there was data that the scheme is becoming less and less effective over the years. That scheme has been passed. Add on the fact that your pass rush still stinks like it did at the end of last year and you can’t stop the run. You’re gonna have major problems. Because you have outdated scheme ans you don’t do anything particularly well on defense. Answer this question, what do the Eagles do well on defense right now? There’s really nothing you could hang your hat on. Red zone defense is about it. And frankly i think that is going to look much different heading into the bye week
