We aren’t winning squat with this defensive line. Zero pass rush and gashed on the ground. This loss is 100% on the defense, and primarily the line.

I think I figured it out. I see what’s going on here. We repackaged Boston Scott as an edge rusher because we couldn’t let him go.

She’s built like Jordan Davis these days.

He can’t make CJ tackle to prevent a TD when he has to learn to tackle above the waist in open space. And he can’t make Slay not fall back into worrying about looking to play inside when clearly he is the only one that can cover that out route.

He can’t make us a decent run defense? He can’t figure out ways to get pressure l? You act like fangio is absolved from any blame. That’s BS. Yes CJGJ missing tackles. Meanwhile the guy was wide open prior to missing the tackle. Or the fact run defense is giving up 8 yards a carry. You act like fangio has no blame just players. It’s his Fing scheme. They brought him in here to make guys better in his scheme. He was the guy that was going to make guys step up and be better. Yet same issues as last year. Yes they have a personnel problem it also wasn’t a coincidence a ton of fangio style defenses were bottom half of the league last year.

Did Paris Campbell play at all?

We run no stunts or games upfront. Just Carter gets doubled and everyone else gets shut down. I hoped it was the field in Brazil, but it wasn’t. We just have zero pass rush.

Dotson has two targets through two games.

I think we might have been better on that Brazilian field

The turf monster would have accounted for at least 3-4 sacks on Cousins

Why do I have a hunch that he's gonna be invisible all year. People will make "needs to learn the playbook" excuses for another couple weeks until eventually it'll be like why isn't he getting any passes thrown his way?

My guess is AJ remains out until after the bye. The offense we saw tonight is not sustainable from a success standpoint and a Hurts staying healthy standpoint. It’s absolute chaos and street ball with zero structure.

Too busy tossing 3 yards to Covey, over and over.

I watched the Breakdown this morning with Peyton and Bill.  Almost all pressure in the Pitt game up the middle from stunts. Didn't see much of that tonight.  Mainly four guys trying unsuccessfully to beat their guy one on one.  Gotta to get that figured out.

I know everyone has written off White but these two starters Dean and Baun aren't getting off blocks against the run.  DL needs to a better job of keeping them clean but why not try mixing in the bigger White on run downs

Yup. Fangio scheme works wonders when you have good personnel at every position. I feel like most defenses would. They aren’t going to have that type of personnel all the time. So going to have to make guys play better and put them in better positions. When you don’t it looks like this and last year. Your scheme needing to have great personnel to work isn’t a great scheme. People crapped on Schwartz but when things went to crap in 2018 after saints game, he found ways to make it work and get most out of guys. This scheme last years and so far this year hasn’t. And now with the godfather of the defense

Nah, but with the personnel he’s working with, what’s to be expected? For the last 5 years NOT many teams are even built to stop the run…they worry about passing. But I can’t say he actually has the lbs he wants or the secondary up to speed like he wants. I’m sure he would like more Ringo/De Jean sized secondary but you have to. balance what you have. And this is still their first year in this system ran how Fangio runs it, it’s not like you can expect them all to know everything about it to about each other playing in it….that is what they are still figuring out now. At the end of the day…if Slay executes on that TD then how many points would’ve been allowed. Slay has done that same thing before. You may not like how it looks when other teams run the ball, but they seem to have been pretty good in the rz

I agree but that doesn't mean he will this upcoming week.

lol so he has to have great personnel for his defense to work is what you are telling me. Great i can run good schemes as well if i have great personnel. Its why the dolphins under him last year even before the injuries got torched by many good offenses.

a great DC you gets you more out of less.

It’s nearly impossible to call a functional defense with the Eagles’ pass rush and edge setters.

The guy running the offense is the guy with the ball in his hands every play.  You’d think getting injured every single season would encourage him to develop and distribute the ball instead of carrying it 13 times per week.

Hire whatever HC and OC you want.  If the QB refuses to evolve from playing sandlot ball this is all just wasted time.

You don’t think he had any hand in the guys he had? I’m guessing it wasn’t just Howie that wanted huff. I’m guessing he probably also thought fangio woudl get more out of guys then he has.

good DCs get more out of less. The fact we are getting the same from out of sweat, Davis that we got from Sean Desai is probably concerning from a guy who’s supposedly the godfather of the scheme

I'd love to hear Fangios thoughts after the game and what exactly he was trying to accomplish on the last drive.

3 plays with no timeouts and they are at Eagle 13 yard line.

It was the same thing with Schwartz, how can everybody else find personnel for their schemes. Did Fangio tell Howie just draft everybody from Georgia? If he has to pick between Nolan and Huff and he really doesn’t prefer either as a starter but chooses Nolan..what do you want him to do..MAKE them fit when they just don’t? That will always be a problem if that’s the case. Players have to play…they were put in position

As good as Baun was last week, he was just as bad this week. Was a total non factor and was a detriment on many players. Engulfed by blockers, taken out of the play, missed some tackles too.
