The Jeffersons was such a great show.

Why can't we make fun of each other like that anymore?

Man that was bad. The DL was horrible.  Zero pressure and no run contain.  Can't win games if you can't stop the run AND you can't rush the passer.

We need to be able to outscore teams but that's not happening with Brown on the sidelines.  Going to be extremely tough to win one of the next two and a 1-3 hole is going to be very very tough to climb out of coming off the bye.  We really needed to come out with a win.

Yep we did! And we had it and within about 5 minutes of real time we found a way to blow it!

Is there any chance we will ever see Moores full offense? Or is Siri just taking ideas from Moore? We are still running designed Hurts runs that we ran before Moore was here. We take a quick Covey screen and just flip it and hope that it’ll bust a 20 yard gain, same stuff we would do last year. In two games I’ve seen too many repeat play designs from last year. I’m not taking up for Moore, but I wouldn’t under estimate Sirianni jumping in and changing plays still. Even if it means losing his job.

Or maybe the reason these are in is because Moore was working with Hurts to try to keep them in, and the reason Sirianni had them in was related to Hurts too. Did you forget?

Sirianni comes from a tree in which their offensive root goes through people like Phillip Rivers. For what purpose, exactly, would there be so many designed QB runs? Almost like those concessions are specifically for Hurts, right?

I'm still waiting for Nolan Smith and Bryce Huff to show something, anything.  Sweat and Graham are what they are and they'll make some plays here and there but they aren't going to get consistent pressure.  We are better in the secondary and with the linebackers but it won't mean anything if they DL doesn't improve.

I'm far from the only one saying hero ball on that pass. It was stupid in that situation and is Seattle 2.0.

Again, the bottom line that can't be refuted is it's the job of franchise QBs get the job done in that situation regardless of why or if it was fair or what he did before that point.

It's actually Sirianni's fault for not calling the plays. You see, even though people insisted he was hands off and then made fun of him for being a cheerleader, he actually shouldn't have been hands off or been a cheerleader, he should have called the play apparently and intervened. Even though people wanted him to stop intervening.

It's almost like what people ultimately want Sirianni to do is whatever works best for their arguments at the time, and then they backpedal all over themselves.

As for Hurts. Meh. Bad pick? Yeah. The real issue though was not running toss instead of passing the ball, and then not catching the ball. Yikes.

It's nonsense player speak because they have no answers. What does "not rushing together" even mean? They don't have the players. And they'll be having to answer for this lack of a pass rush all season long with meaningless platitudes and cliches because they can't say "I suck" or "We aren't good" so we'll be getting "We just have to play together!" week after week. It's going to be so tiresome by the end of September, let alone the end of the season.

Howie's defensive free agent offseason additions tonight:

CJGJ - bad

Baun - bad

Huff - bad

White - inactive

Great job. Thanks, Howie.

BUT CJGJ MADE A ROUTINE TACKLE HE'S THE NEXT MALCOLM JENKINS!!!

Good playcalling Moore.

He can’t make us a decent run defense? He can’t figure out ways to get pressure l? You act like fangio is absolved from any blame. That’s BS. Yes CJGJ missing tackles. Meanwhile the guy was wide open prior to missing the tackle. Or the fact run defense is giving up 8 yards a carry. You act like fangio has no blame just players. It’s his Fing scheme. They brought him in here to make guys better in his scheme. He was the guy that was going to make guys step up and be better. Yet same issues as last year. Yes they have a personnel problem it also wasn’t a coincidence a ton of fangio style defenses were bottom half of the league last year.

Actually CJ got burned and THEN missed the tackle, so no he actually failed both.

Another one I’m losing patience with is Howie. He gets overhyped every year, but where is the defense?? We have Carter, and Q looks like a keeper too. Aside from that, where has he excelled in getting us anyone on defense? We’re getting no pressure from Huff or Smith. Can’t blame the field this time. Baun makes a play on occasion, but no other LBs of note, and what else in the secondary?

Also, this offense should not fall apart from the loss of AJ alone. Coaching is again unimpressive. Terrible decision making from pulling Barkley after he’s running for 9+ yards a pop, to passing up on early points, to not running Barkley on the second to last drive when you’re trying to bleed the clock.

But the Tush Push works again, so all’s well I guess.

Nothing has changed.

I've been saying this for a long time now and will continue to say it:

Jordan Davis is a JAG. I don't care what PFF has to say about him. Moving to take him where we did...he needs to perform. We couldn't stop a TATE poster from running the football. It's been this way for two seasons.

It's definitely not just him. Carter flashes, but spends most of the game on the ground.

Huff is garbage.

Smith is a bust.

Graham is an old man.

Our LBs might not be as bad as last season, but they're hot garbage.

Maddox is garbage.

Slay lives up to his name, but by allowing the other team to make the big play.

CJGJ whiffs on tackles consistently.

Howie is still extremely overrated on this board by many people. He has made some awesome moves and he's still a wizard with the cap, but many of his draft picks or acquisitions are not good. Many of them.

Sirianni is a clown.

Hurts, while not *the* problem for this game still turns the ball over too much. Still rolls right too much. Can't consistently score without elite weapons around him.

This team isn't going anywhere.

Games like this put bad thoughts about Bill Belichick in my head.

Forgot Sweat. He's trash, too.

I've been watching games since 1980, I've seen some really bad losses, the worst for me impact wise was the NFCCG vs. Tampa to close the Vet.  But last nights game execution wise might have been the worst loss I have ever seen as a fan.  And it's safe to say, Davis, Carter, Huff, Smith are all busts.  That defense has ZERO ability to put pressure from the defensive line.

No matter how you slice and dice this one it is very very disappointing.  Both from the perspective of basically giving the game away but also in the confirmation that the GB game wasn't just the field when it comes to our DL.

Vrabel also wins this game

Normally I would roll my eyes at week 2 overreactions, but this feels different.

I fully expect this team to go 1-3 to start the season, and if that happens who knows where this thing goes.

This really could be the start to major changes with the organization.

Is it too early to already lose interest in the season? Asking for a friend

Mentally, this loss puts there locker room in the same space as December 2023.

If that ends up being the case, Siri needs to go. Great teams all have bad losses. It’s how they bounce back.

So CJGJ was the reason our DL was getting pushed off by about 3-4 yards in the first half every time the falcons ran? Or the fact our linebackers can’t get off blocks? Or the fact we can’t get Davis to play better than what he was under Desai (frankly Desai actually had Davis playing well early in the season last year)?

go back and watch the Dolphins versus the Titans. Carbon copy of what you saw that last drive. But only didn’t happen once it happened 2x in last 4 minutes of that game. 75 yards in 1:54. 64 yards in 26 seconds. Here’s some more information about how great the Fangio scheme really was last year from a multiple team level. There were 6 teams that ran it some version of it. 5 of 6 had a EPA in the 20s or 30s. The highest was 15th by Miami. The next highest was 23rd. Miami (7 games) gave up to playoff teams 31.9 ppg. So when Fangio played against playoff teams, the defense tended to break as they were bottom half of the league in red zone defense too. Dolphins had injuries but some of their failures against better teams happened before those injuries hit. They had success when KC was really slumping on offense and ditto with the stretch in December with cowboys.

No it's not just the field but Atlanta has a decent O Line, a top 5 unit in the League with all 5 starters from last year back and settled and The Packers are a comfortably top half line too, up next are the Saints who have a rookie projected as a Right Tackle / Guard at LT and a failed LT at RT. I expect the D Line to show up better in Nawleans.

This all smacks of last year when everyone got convinced Miami were going to clean our clocks whereas in reality, Miami had beaten up on bad teams and were paper tigers, the Saints are this years Miami.

One other side note, this offense is crap without AJ...this isn't a slight (no pun intended) on Smith.
