Your CVON reading comprehension and jumping to wrong conclusions fails you repeatedly.

I did not choose one or the other.

Keeping Siri a bit longer may be a means to an end for the Hurts era. Its easier to fire a coach than it is to trade a huge QB contract with a no-trade clause. Keep siri till Hurts is fed up enough to WANT out. Then you can fire Siriani.

"I did not choose one or the other, but here are the reasons why keeping Sirianni is better."

If you guys think the starters playing 20-25 preseason snaps is fixing this, you’re fooling yourself.

Playing a couple series in one preseason game, then a complete half of a second game would give them enough experience and film to review, learn from what's working and not.

Heading into the week 1 Brazil game Fangio said he can't say what to expect because they haven't actually played, it's been drills and 7 on 7s, even the joint practice is more like drills just against the other team. He seemed to not like the idea of not having preseason starter experience.

On the other hand, Siri isnt doing a very good job of just being a CEO head coach. But this offense can put enough points on the board with a real QB to the point where his decisions wont matter. Games will consistently be won in blowout fashion, with a real QB in this system with this talent around him.

Sirianni is going to be the first domino to fall. He will be the sacrificial lamb regardless even if hurts isn’t or is the problem. They’ll bring in a new coach and at that point if it’s the same then they’d have to face the music. But I’d be surprised if it went any other way in terms of how it would theoretically play out.

I know this is going to sound like an old head mentality, but please Slay, look more upset. I know he's showing great sportsmanship but dudes look entirely too happy following that ass performance.

Sometimes you got to tip the cap.  Overall i thought the CB’s played a good game.

I can't get over how bad our defense played. It was bad-bad. Couldn't stop the run. Couldn't defend over the middle.

At least with Fangio here, we won't be able to use the coaching excuse.

Defense always have to be tough, but you can be either young/fast or smart/versatile. We are neither.

I'd try to move Slay if they could.

CB is a young man's position.  You need younger, athletic guys playing the position.  How many good CBs are over 30 years of age?

Slay is cooked and on top of it doesn't care anymore.

Eagles are up to 6 straight games without a sack from any of the EDGE rushers

I hate to jump too far ahead, but if the next two games are going to go like I think they’re going to go, then we will be looking at a situation where we have a bye week coming off a brutal stretch, which will be insufferable, and basically a game for the season @ the Giants. But if you’re at the point where you need to beat a terrible team to hang on and you can’t beat any good teams, even if the Eagles win that game I think most people would be partially checked out on the season by that point anyway.

This season really has a chance to spiral quickly here.

The aj brown situation is concerning. Garafolo saying brown isn’t going to miss that much time and they just didn’t want to push him for this week. Meanwhile espn reporting he’s going to miss multiple games.

Oof

You 100% can use coaching as an excuse. His scheme is half the issue. Love that he holds his players accountable, but he's also too damn stubborn to get out of his own way. He doesn't make adjustments when needed either.

To be clear, I did not like the coaching game plan. Ex: Huff should not be on the field on base downs. Let him focus on rushing the passer. Play 5 man fronts, etc.

But we've been bad at stopping the run with 3 different coordinators from 2022 to 2024. At some point, it's on the players.

They can’t admit it with hurts until after 2025. They could try to move him like wentz but he has a NTC so have to convince him to waive it. So realistically earliest you can get out is 2026 offseason unless a team is willing to do a post June 1st trade next offseason.

not saying they should or shouldn’t do it. Just how his contract is structured

I think NTC works different in the NFL than other sports. You see guys with it in the NBA and they just stay put. In the NFL, if Howie even seriously explored trading Hurts it’s just a matter of time until he’s gone. You just can’t stay as a QB on a team that has given up on you. He’ll just have his say of where he goes.

Not to leave Howie off the hook, he had a bad off-season, but I still think the coaching is an issue. How does Huff get 10.5 sacks on limited snaps and be one of the most productive per snap pass rushers in the NFL last season and this season not be able to give you anything? How does Jalen Carter play so good last season and this season be invisible? How does the offense still look exactly the same except with Barkley now instead of Swift?

They just look poorly coached again. Missed tackles, unproductive, bad situationally, mistake prone, no creativity.

New OC & DC yet nothing different from last season aside from better individual performance, such as Barkley whos carrying this offense. Meaning if he goes down, this team will be 3&out on repeat.

D line is a joke.

Wheres Isaiah Rogers?

I have lost all faith in this team because my biggest concern was confirmed. We have no pass rush.

JD is useless out there, absolute bust. Something seems up with Carter and maybe got him benched the first series. BG is our best pass rusher but can’t rely on him all year to play that many snaps. Sweat is meh. Huff and Smith are both massive disappointments.

There’s no trade that will fix this either. We’re fair and squarely Fd.

Seemed like the defense played passive until Atlanta got down in the RZ.  Then he'd get a little aggressive and maybe send some blitzes down there.

I don't like the strategy but it's bend and then tighten up in the RZ.

I'm hoping as the season goes on he will change that but have my doubts.

Tbh i don’t think they’d trade him until after they hire the next coach and see what he does with him. at that point might try to trade him and get some value. I think if he continues to lead the league in turnovers (has since start of 2023 season) and the offense continues to have issues that it’ll likely not get you a great deal. I still don’t see it happening til after 2025. That’s the earliest he’s released or traded (if it comes to that). Also think hurts being able to pick where he wants to go gives them less leverage.

Who are you taking off the field for Rodgers?

Pretty wild that anyone could watch the game last night and come away with the impression that they'd prefer Sirianni to stay instead of Hurts.

I have less than zero interest in Hurts staying if his philosophy is to be RB2 instead of QB1.  One of his redeeming qualities in his first two years is he didn't turn the ball over a lot.  Now he does.

Paying $51M per year to a QB who throws for less than 200 yards, turns the ball over, and gets injured every year is not inspiring.
