You're misunderstanding me. I don't have a problem with a HC who doesn't call plays. But you said am I expecting Siri to micromanage the coordinators? In your argument, Siri should not communicate with his coordinators at all during the game? He sits back and lets them do whatever? I said it's a collaboration.

Moore said that in the offseason Siri was not even in the offensive meetings very much. He said he popped in at times. Last year Nick swore it was his offense. Then he said Moore would install an offense that utilizes things they've done in the past plus what he brings with him. That's actually fine.

But my point is, the head coach is still responsible for everything that happens. He goes over the game plan and strategy with each coach during the week. On game day he should be analyzing what's happening and speaking with his coordinators if there are adjustments to be made. If there are basic things we see as fans that are problems, that's what the head coach should be addressing.

This is a continuation of the collapse of last season, where we all saw the problems and Nick did absolutely nothing to change it.

Fair enough.  I think there are a few new problems early this year, though.  The team is not aging gracefully on the Slay, Bradberry, and BG front -- and most of the new blood isn't developing.  Nolan Smith, Davis, and Carter need to find another gear, fast.

I like a lot of Shane's stuff. Showing how the alignment here basically makes stopping the run impossible. Multiple examples of this on his feed. Either the scheme blows or the players are screwing it up. Where is the 5 down lineman look on run downs??

It was the SVP curse. That MF jinxed us coming back from commercial after the 2 minute warning.

I'll be curious to see how far Lurie lets this go on for, especially if they start 1-3. In the grand scheme of things, Sirianni brings little to nothing to this team. So if he's fired, it doesn't change play-calling. Moore runs the offense and Fangio the defense.

Then why would expect any different outcomes?

Joe Buck too. He just had to say "Falcons haven't been getting to Hurts all nigh... and he's sacked as I say that"

I mentioned- putting pieces together- Carter didnt start last night (why?), Sweat said the DL isnt on the same page and they need to rush together. Putting the pieces together, I suspect Carter was disciplined for performance because he is freelancing.

You mentioned the lack of stunts/twists earlier.  Both Sweat and Huff brought that up.  Idk why Fangio just sends 4 dudes straight upfield against 5 lineman (and sometimes more with Rbs Tes chipping) when they aren't winning one on ones.  The opposing OL doesn't have to do any guessing.  They know where their guy is going to be every play.

Go back and watch the sacks from the Pitt game.  Almost every sack came when they were stunting.

Maybe Fangio is going plain Jane because of gap discipline but they are doing that either.

On that particular play, with the alignment obviously a challenge, Davis has to get some penetration and force the back to commit sooner to the inside which would allow Dean not to drift outside too much and meet the ball carrier. Baun was to slow to get upfield as well, which is surprising considering he read the play quickly...

Davis has to

Just do something would be nice from Davis.

It wouldn't have made sense last night, because Hurts wasn't the problem. But if he is having a bad game in NO on Sunday, maybe the play is pulling him and putting in Pickett (can't go to McKee as the emergency 3rd QB unless the first 2 guys are hurt). Kind of what Andy did with McNabb in the Baltimore game in 2008; the whole team was trash, but Andy sent a message that even the QB could be benched. The 2008 Eagles caught fire after that. Sirianni has to do something to shake these guys up. Another option -- bench Slay for Ringo.

Barkley carried the team, and Jalen made some plays with his feet after the first few drives. Past that he still looked at one person or threw it short to Covey, which was good at times, but they looked clunky. If they weren't running, they weren't moving the ball, and even with Brown out, they still have a lot of weapons and a good OL. Problem last night? Not until the last throw, but he is not the solution, either. He makes too many poor decisions, rolls out too often when he could step up, and holds it too long while looking at one person so the defense knows where he wants to go. I wonder if he is checking into some of the stupid plays because they looked like the end of last year in Q1.

He also doesn't learn from mistakes, and we watched a replay of the Seattle game last night. They only had to go from the 30 to their 40 with a timeout in their pocket. He needs to throw the ball away there vs a long pass. People say he didn't have time. OK, throw it away, but he shouldn't be looking long in that spot anyway. You know they are coming, so make short, quick throws using the sidelines if possible, and give Jake a chance. Don't risk it playing hero ball, but his situational awareness sucks at times. At the end of the day a franchise QB making 50 million needs to find a way to go 35-40 yards with that much time and a TO in the pocket. So the problem? Maybe not but he isn't the answer either.

Something is seriously wrong with how they are using their front.  Fangio has some serious self scouting to do this week.  No pass rush plan, bad alignments against the run.

Additionally, Baun and Dean combo are too small to get off blocks against the run.  I know everybody says White sucks but I would use him on run downs over Dean.  We need a LB who can get off a block or is aggressive enough to shoot a gap before the block gets to them.

Those are factors as well, yep. Thankfully, they appear to have young corners ready to take over. Slay will be gone after this year.

With BG, last year he was a part-time rotational player and going into his final season everyone expected the same. Fangio said he's not giving him a ceremonial tour and he's going to play a lot of snaps. The tone of it was juuuust borderline disrespectful to the longest tenured Eagle and veteran leader of your time. But whatever. Still, a coach has to utilize the resources well and rotate the D line to keep them fresh. BG and Sweat was not the answer alone. They drafted Smith and signed Huff and there is no pass rush.

So Fangio needs to figure something out. He can throw his players under the bus in press conferences, but can he coach them? Can he scheme to their strengths? Can he make the necessary adjustments? And what is Siri doing to address problems on defense?

How many other systems still use the wide 9, especially with LB as suspect as the Eagles?

Davis is a bust. Rent a run stopper.

He's not wrong about BG, he's currently our best edge

I think it would be hard for a lot of coaches to do something with Davis in the middle, DE who don't have it anymore outside of BG, and LB who seem better than last year, but still suspect. We have a mix of bad team construction and a system that isn't ideal.

Which is an organizational philosophy. Has been for years. Going to keep bringing in DC who do what Lurie/Howie want.

Why though?

They must see that this doesn't work especially against good offenses.

And sadly, it's not even really close.

Hell, I'd bring Patrick Johnson back and give him some snaps. Hunt too.

Great. But they need Sweat to return to his prior better play and Huff and Smith to do something. The pass rush is dreadful.

You're not wrong, those just all seem like unattainable goals. Huff should do better but I'm out of hope for the other two guys at this point.

Or screw it, let's see what Jalyx Hunt has. Bring back Patrick Johnson as well. At least we'll see effort.

On 1st down, roll with Davis (he's the only nose tackle), Carter, Williams, Ojomo and either Huff/Hunt/Sweat/BG. Gannon used a lot of the 5 down looks to stop the run and it worked. We're getting gashed while sitting in nickel all day.

EDIT: Hell, put Booker out there and have Williams and Ojomo pay the edge.

Because the only way to get outside is by passing.   A sweep was never an option?   How about an outside zone instead of an inside zone?
