Not sure I like that answer.  Mailata on the radio right now asked what the mood in the lockerroom is and he said they feel sorry for thenselves.

My concern with bringing Nick back was for moments like this. It's why I thought they'll either go 14-3/13-4 or the wheels will completely fall off and no in between. They cannot battle through adversity like we saw last season and if they lose two in a row it might completely implode. Especially when you have devastating losses like that last night.

Should have ran it on 3rd down.  If they don't pick it up, then they should have at least been in position to tush push to win the game.

It's Nick getting too cute, but Reid did that a lot early in his career. I said this last night but a few drives reminded me of the NFCCG against Carolina where they stuffed it down their throats and they couldn't stop them, but then he started throwing it inside the 20.

I have more of a problem with Nick not kicking the FG early in the game. Kick the FG, take the points, and get aggressive later in the game if necessary. He's just not a smart coach sometimes.

Sounds like they are about to get their asses handed to them. Well if we aren’t going to compete for a SB then just be bad and get a better draft pick. Fire the entire staff besides stoutland and start over with a new coach.

If they were going for it on 3rd then they had to go for it on 4th. If they were gonna kick the FG, then they should've ran it on 3rd down. Sirianni did the worst of both worlds. The guy is a moron. It's really a joke that he's still the coach. Lurie drools over the guy for some reason.

Seriously, he compounded one mistake with another. First off, you run on 3rd down, and then if you want, throw on 4th down. On 3rd down give it to Barkley. Or call the QB draw -- like the one time I was in favor of it. Kicking the FG actually hurt us -- the data shows that when the losing team needs 3 to tie, they almost always get conservative and settle once they get to FG range. Getting a 6 point lead made it MORE likely that we would lose because they had to go for the TD.

If you're the CEO coach in charge of situational football...you can't screw up like that.

Bo with a hot take, he said Lurie setting in the owner's box watching last night's game, Nick Foles was in the house whose legacy was defined by a bold play in a big spot, then seeing Nick Sirianni turtle up at the end and getting conservative, and how much the Eagles as an organization pride themselves on being bold and aggressive in those situations and it's an organizational philosophy... he said knowing how Jeff Lurie thinks he bets after the game he was livid with Nick Sirianni and probably has regrets that he didn't move in another direction after the season.

With no AJ and the defense as bad as it is going into a red hot Saints team there is little reason to believe it won't turn into a blowout loss like against the 49ers and Cowboys last year.  No confidence they are going to be able to go in and beat a Bucs team playing inspired winning football too.  This season is on track to get as ugly as 2020.

He didn't go conservative though. He went for the bold and aggressive play by passing and Barkley dropped it.

That sounds like Bo alright.

By not going for it on 4th down.

You also take 3 points early in the game to get on the board versus possibly giving the momentum to the Falcons. We can talk about what they should have done on that 3rd down all day, but that was more egregious.

Sad to say this, but I agree. I hope they are really bad and can get a difference maker on the DL.

Tbh the next two games are going to determine Nick Sirianni‘s future in Philadelphia. if they come out and get their ass handed to them by the Saints then come out and get their ass handed to them by the Bucs, that bye week there’s a solid chance he’s fired. it would tell you that they can’t fight through adversity with him as their head coach and/or they’ve just tuned him out and given up on him. I’d be surprised at that point if Moore isnt the interim HC and see how he does. That bye week being in week 5 after these two games is not ideal for sirianni

The better option would have been to have that plan in mind from the start... and run it on 3rd AND if necessary 4th down.   They had 2 tries to get 3 yards and ice the game.   The OL had been creating massive holes for Barkley on that drive to get into that position and then, when it mattered most, they got stupid in their decision making.

I am not a fan of the Tush Push in the field of play, and I think that everyone knows that.  BUT, if you come up a little short on 3rd down running the ball... you might get close enough to make the Tush Push viable, and in that context, the Push makes perfect sense because getting to the first down marker ends the game.

Long story short, the Eagles were dramatically out coached at the end of the game and they created far too many unforced errors on themselves.   And, regarding the final drive... again, that's a sell out spot.   Blitz Cousins with everything you have and if they score a TD right away, so be it.  You have the ball and 2 timeouts to move the ball into FG range.   Instead they played the softest of soft prevent defense and allowed the Falcons to move the ball down the field exceedingly fast, but also allowed them to get out of bounds twice to stop the clock.  Just horrific management of that moment.  And a CEO coach should be able to send the message to the DC in that moment NOT to go soft, but to get after the statue of Cousins and force the ending, one way or the other.  Either you get the pressure needed to end the game without giving up 1st downs... OR they score quickly and you get the ball back to answer a score and get into FG range.

I agree with you 💯.   I just don't see Fangio listening to Siri to be honest.

Can't really tune him out if he doesn't talk. Reports of this already being a "player led" team where Sirianni doesnt talk to them in the locker room tells us they already gave up on him

Fran said breaking down the tape, Nolan Smith was noticeably better than Bryce Huff last night and Nolan Smith wasn't exactly great, so...

Fran is the type of guy to never rip players, but that's the hardest I've ever seen him have to hold back to not trash a player. He was biting his tongue the entire breakdown.

Just saying, he didn’t talk last night in the locker room. The players did. That doesn’t mean over the course of the week he’s not going to or before that game he wasn’t talking to him. He’s not there walking around the facility not doing anything all day every day

Should we have any reason to trust in Roseman's ability to draft a difference maker on the DL?  Drafted Cox and Graham but Andy was still here and I doubt he didn't have a major influence on the draft selections.

Since then what is Sweat his best pick?  Carter looked like a no trainer but now his character issues are popping up being late/missing meetings resulting in him being benched to start the game and honestly he's been invisible theough two games.

Fran should just go off. He doesn’t work for the eagles anymore. He doesn’t have to be Dave spadaro. He can be evil spadaro

Atlanta only had 5.4 yards per carry. And that’s somewhat skewed cause of cousins and kneeling. Taking away cousins atlanta averaged 6.3 yards per carry (151 yards on 24 rushes)

Hope he threw in some expletives and threatened to bang their wives if they kept it up

I get what you're saying and I'm not refuting that - I just think that whatever he does say/does during the week, etc is not taken seriously by anyone on the team. It's a mess.

He probably means when they settled for a FG on 4th and 4 from Atlanta's 10yd line.

Where is afan to tell us the first 3 weeks are all preseason games anyway?

Agreed - he was two dull moves away from checkmate, and he went with a riskier choice.

Maddox pointed at Mitchell as if he was out of position for the 2nd completion of the game winning drive. Players not knowing where to be in that moment is so frustrating.

I mean, I don’t trust how he Roseman to fix the defense in general. He came back in 2016. This is about the third or fourth time we’ve said we have major issues with the defense. Under his building of the defense, the Eagles have had a couple good years but it’s not consistent or sustainable. He will have really high highs on defense for a year then it crumbles away over the next two years and back to this. And there’s other teams in the NFL that have built defenses that have been sustainable and consistent solid to good for longer than one or two years.
